Also, my former Fukushima guest RadChick recently found herself surrounded by five police cruisers from three different departments recently. She will tell her tale tonight.

An officer in Utica, New York is being accused of planting evidence — and he was busted by the dash cam in his own police cruiser.

The Utica Phoenix recently obtained dash cam video of a February 11, 2011 traffic stop, where officers Palladino and Padulla search an African-American couple.

At about one minute into the video, one of the officers is seen taking a plastic bag out of his back pocket and seems to place it inside the vehicle. Several moments later, he emerges from the vehicle with a larger plastic bag, presumably evidence.

Grey Alien depicted on Canadian $20 Silver Commemorative Canoe Coin (video)

The story, as told by the artist Jason Bouwman
The canoe has become as much a part of the Canadian visual lexicon as the Canada goose, the beaver and the maple leaf. This design shows a young person enjoying a recreational outing. The boy breaks from paddling to dip his hand in the water… and touches the past – the reflection reveals an early native paddler (or voyageur) in a traditional birch-bark canoe as it also appears on the early silver dollar of 1935.

5-Year-Old Shaken Down by Police For Overdue Library Books

Shannon Benoit of Charlton, MA, is still upset that her local library sent police to retrieve overdue library books borrowed by her five year old, Hailey. “I thought it was way overboard,” she said, and likened it to “pounding a ten penny nail with a sledgehammer.”

Police Sergeant Dan Dowd, was not in any way mean or aggressive when he informed them about the two books, which were a few months overdue. But, he was a uniformed officer sent because of Hailey, which made her burst into tears when the door was shut. She asked her mom if she would be arrested. “I was scared,” she said.

Why are libraries reporting and petitioning police to help collect fees for overdue books — is this really the best way to protect and serve the public?

News articles are quick to point out that it is a misdemeanor to keep library books, their way of justifying the action. The local police thought a “friendly” reminder would be better than a court summons.

A court summons.

For overdue library books.

Sergeant Dowd admits that the officers did not want to get involved in this case. The assignment, however, was delegated by the Chief after the library phone call. Dowd says he must have been one of “low men on the totem pole.”

The unnamed director of Charlton library is receiving flak, which she expected, but claimed her phone call to law enforcement was a last resort aimed at the worst offenders. She says they only do this after sending many ignored notices, emails, and phone call warnings.

The family insists there has been no contact about the missing books. They have recently found and returned them, but are still upset with the extreme measure.

“There’s got to be a better way to do it,” says Hailey’s father. Shannon added, “It is ridiculous.”

Meanwhile, a laundry list of corporate and government crimes are being overlooked, and police have been enlisted as their protectors.

Homegrown Jihad Documentary Claims 35 Terror Camps are Openly Operating Inside United States (video)

The Intel Hub
January 5, 2011

A trailer released for a new documentary on American homegrown Jihad pushes the idea that Muslims are working with the United States to eventually carry out terror attacks while ignoring what many people believe are the true enemies of America including the big banks, factions with the CIA and Mossad, and a whole laundry list of true criminal operations.

The documentary, “Homegrown Jihad” details what they claim to be 35 actual terror camps openly operating within the United States.

That’s right, apparently al Qaeda ninjas are not only able to carry out one of the largest terror attacks in American history, they have also managed to set up dozens of terror camps right here in America!
