NDAA Is A Hoax: You Can’t Legalize Tyranny (video)

President Obama quietly waited weeks to sign the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) legislation on New Year’s Eve after publicly threatening to veto the bill that, among other things, authorizes the indefinite detention of American citizens.
Obama’s signing statement tries to reassure observers that he wouldn’t use the “law” to detain citizens, but that is an illusion; his signing statement is meaningless, and the establishment occupying Washington have pulled a hoax on The People in violation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights to enslave them.
But you can’t legalize tyranny. One of the nation’s most well known legal precedents, Marbury vs. Madison, set in 1803, makes clear that any “law” that is “repugnant to the Constitution is null and void.”
The blatant unconstitutional powers enacted in the legislature and executive branch is backfiring, however. This crowning act of tyranny is awakening people to the true intentions of Big Government in its takeover. The NDAA is so openly in violation of the American way, that Obama had to play lip-service to it in his signing statement language, even as he gave it the power of law.
Critics in the ACLU and Human Rights centers have abandoned their comfort zones and attacked the president from the left for crossing the Rubicon on rights, as they rightly should.
Now is the time for more to join that call; for Americans of all stripes to speak out against so-called “laws” that enable blatant political targeting of dissidents and declare a war against the citizens of this country. Make no mistake, if we sit idly by and let this precedent become accepted– like the Patriot Act, with the appearance of law– more and more unconstitutional legislation will obviously take hold.

The recent political transition in North Korea has once again focused the world’s attention towards the least accessible society on earth. Its epitaphic spectacle of mourning for the Father Leader, the Great General Kim Jung il, has invited a torrent of conjecture and analysis from the peering spectators of the outside world. While the majority of experts speak of issues such as the possibility of a failed succession, followed by a military coup d’état or a “Pyongyang Spring”, it becomes apparent that so few outlets take the domestic North Korean worldview into account. While all parties exchange wild rhetoric, Washington’s insistent stance on denuclearization is a clear demonstration of its incoherency in diffusing tension, reaching a common resolution with Pyongyang and most importantly, understanding how the regime views itself.
While the country is referred to as the twenty first century’s last bastion of Stalinism, the internal propaganda to which the domestic population is exposed suggests an antipodal ideology intrinsically irreconcilable with the worldview of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin. Under the surface of immense concrete monuments espousing Communism and the rambling doctrine of Juche Thought, North Korea’s domestic propaganda suggests that its identity is derived from a staunchly race-based brand of nationalism, at times channeling a rhetoric of ethnic superiority, similar to that claimed by the Nazis. While the propaganda designated to foreign scrutiny dryly champion’ principles of self-reliance in vague humanistic themes, as found within the Juche doctrine, the least accessible propaganda intended for internal consumption is a uniquely Korean brand of racist orthodoxy.

Dried plums shown to be effective against fractures and osteoporosis

(NaturalNews) A study recently conducted by a team of researchers at Florida State and Oklahoma University, and featured in the esteemed British Journal of Nutrition, reveals that consuming a handful of natural, dried plums every day will help prevent fractures and osteoporosis in the elderly.
This is great news especially for postmenopausal women, who commonly struggle with the loss of bone density and an increased risk of fracture. While bone frailty and osteoporosis can affect older individuals of both genders, a clear correlation exists between the decrease of estrogen production and the onset of osteoporosis in females. According to recent statistics, in the United States alone, over 8 million women and 2 million men are affected by osteoporosis.
The science team, led by Bahram H. Arjmandi – Florida State’s Margaret A. Sitton Professor and chairman of the Department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences in the College of Human Sciences, conducted tests over a 12 month period on two groups of postmenopausal women. The test group comprised of 55 women who were instructed to consume 100 grams of dried plums per day, while the control group consisted of 45 women who were advised to eat 100 grams of dried apples each day. To complement their diets, all participants in the study received daily supplements of calcium (500 mg) and vitamin D (400 units).
Professor Arjmandi’s team tested samples of bone tissue from the ulna (one of the long forearm bones) and the spine, and they concluded that the test group who consumed dried plums showed a significantly higher mineral bone density when compared to the control group that consumed dried apples. Arjmandi explained that this was partly a result of the plums’ ability to decrease the rate of bone resorption – a biological process by which minerals contained in bone tissue are released and transferred to the bloodstream. In younger adults, this process is countered by the body’s ability to swiftly regenerate bone tissue; however, as people age, the rate of new bone growth falls behind the resorption rate.
During the course of his career, Arjmandi has studied and compared numerous fruits, including figs, dates, raisins, and strawberries, pointing out that “none of them come anywhere close to having the effect on bone density that dried plums, or prunes, have.” He added that “in the first five to seven postmenopausal years, women are at risk of losing bone at a rate of 3 to 5 percent per year”, while “around the age of 65, men start losing bone with the same rapidity as women.” This makes dried plums an amazingly useful natural resource for middle aged individuals who are interested in maintaining long term bone health and durability.
Professor Arjmandi concluded by warning potential patients against waiting to be diagnosed with osteoporosis before seeking ways to improve their bone health. He said: “Don’t wait until you get a fracture or you are diagnosed with osteoporosis… Do something meaningful and practical beforehand. People could start eating two to three dried plums per day and increase gradually to perhaps 6 to 10 per day. Prunes can be eaten in all forms and can be included in a variety of recipes.”

Scientists say forget osteoporosis drugs – Natural approach builds strong bones safely

(NaturalNews) For countless years, natural health advocates, who suggested caution at the near hysterical and highly advertised push to put women on anti-osteoporosis prescription drugs, were looked at as unscientific health “nuts”. But now some mainstream scientists are in total agreement and are even sounding the alarm about those medications. Instead of popping side effect loaded pills, say University of Illinois (U of I) researchers, an effective first course of action to keep bones strong should be to simply increase calcium in your diet and vitamin D or take calcium and vitamin D supplements.
But, you may say, you just had a bone density scan and your doctor claims your score shows you are at high risk for the bone-robbing condition known as osteoporosis. Shouldn’t you follow your physician’s dictate to start taking a widely advertised bone-building prescription medication?
“Not so fast!” stated the U of I scientists in a media statement.
“For many people, prescription bone-building medicines should be a last resort,” said Karen Chapman-Novakofski, a U of I professor of nutrition and co-author of a literature review published in a recent issue of the journal Nutrients.
The researchers also pointed out that bone density scans are anything but accurate measures of bones. Bone density tests only measure quantity, not quality, of bone. “Although the test reports that you’re fine or doing better, you may still be at risk for a fracture,” said Dr. Chapman-Novakofski.
Lead author Karen Plawecki, director of the U of I’s dietetics program, and Dr. Chapman-Novakofski investigated the impact of dietary, supplemental, and educational interventions over the last 10 years and reached their conclusions after reviewing 219 articles in scientific journals.
So what should you do to protect and build healthy bones? The study concluded that adults who increase their intake of calcium and vitamin D usually increase bone mineral density and reduce the risk for hip fracture dramatically. While these results can be accomplished through supplements, the researchers also found that food is a good source of these nutrients, Dr. Chapman-Novakofski stated.
The scientists also warned that prescription bone-building medications not only are expensive but they are also loaded with potentially serious side effects including, ironically, an increase in hip fractures and jaw necrosis (dead bone tissue).
“Bisphosphonates, for instance, disrupt normal bone remodeling by shutting down the osteoclasts – the cells that break down old bone to make new bone. When that happens, new bone is built on top of old bone. Yes, your bone density is higher, but the bone’s not always structurally sound,” Dr. Chapman-Novakofski said.

The researchers noted that a low-sodium diet seems to have a positive effect on bone density and, in particular, they advised staying away from smoked or processed meats, bacon, lunch meat, processed foods and many cheeses because they all contain a lot of sodium and could sabotage bone health. In addition to making sure you take in extra calcium and vitamin D for bone health, the U of I scientists urge eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, too. They stated that consuming adequate protein, less sodium, and more magnesium and potassium is a great way to protect bone health.
Another way to avoid osteoporosis naturally is physical activity, specifically a combination of aerobic, strength, balance, and flexibility exercises. Weight bearing exercises help build strong bones, and fit muscles can keep you flexible and prevent falls as you age, too.
