Canadian Syrian’s Receive Death Threats [video]

When they call the police to report the death threats they’ve been receiving these Syrians get asked “are you pro-Assad or anti-Assad?” With the Canadian neocon government funding anti-government elements in Syria it is not surprising that these Canadian-Syrians who endorse the Syrian government feel that they are being unjustly treated by the Canadian state and it’s supposed “law enforcement system.” Indeed these Syrian patriots even went so far as to insinuate that the Canadian state was consciously nurturing Islamist groups in order to import the Middle East’s sectarian problems into Canada which would have the effect of making Canadians more likely to view the world through Israel’s anti-Arab spectacles. — Joshua Blakeney

Speaker #1: Calgarian Samair’s perspective on Syria… Being threatened over having a Pro-Assad rally, being labelled a terrorist by other Syrians that don’t agree politically. Samair was born in Calgary. Living in Marlborough, at a bus stop, being intimidated by those that disagree with him politically. He talks about the media lying about what the situation in Syria as his own family is there. Thank you Samair for your perspective on the Syrian and Calgarian connection.

Speaker #2: Calgarian Karam’s perspective on Syria… He discussed how upset he was when the media didn’t tell the whole truth. He tells stories about media fabrication in the events in Syria. He talks about the rallies in Syrian that support Assad but the media won’t report it. He talks about how the loyalists are being murdered by outsiders in Syria and it’s being reported as killed by Assad. He doesn’t want NATO to intervene and talks about how Assad is a good leader. He just wants opposition to be less violent, not blowing up pipelines and how hard the sanctions on Libya are for the people.

Speaker #3: Calgarian Aya’s perspective on Syria… She talks about how the news is biased, and that Syrians are bad. She thinks America just wants their oil, brings in NATO, kills (like in Libya) and she can’t allow family in Syria being killed by NATO without speaking out.

Speaker #4: Calgarian Bchar’s perspective on Syria… Talks about free Syria was, like in Canada. How all religions got along in Syria. How innocent people are now being killed when they believe all humans, regardless of their religion, are one. He talks about the harassing phone calls he gets and how he tries to reason with them. He gets threats against his family.
