11/29/2012 — Large eruptions at Sakurajima Volcano – Japan [video]

It has been a while since we’ve seen sizable eruptions occurring at Sakurajima Volcano in Japan. Last year (2011 going into 2012) we saw MULTIPLE eruptions per day….Quieting down through mid-2012 — and now we see it back in action today (november 29, 2012).

This current series of eruptions, producing large ejections of lava, static discharge lightning, and lava bombs (fireballs) ejected a few KM from the caldera… ash cloud extending multiple KM down wind.
