A political analyst tells Press TV that it is clear that with Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s resignation the divisions are going to be even greater and it is only going to bring on greater instability in the region.
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has resigned after a deadlock in his cabinet over preparations for forthcoming legislative elections in June. Mikati’s resignation came after disagreements on the formation of an electoral watchdog and the extension of the term of office of police chief Major General Ashraf Rifi.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Michael Maloof, former Pentagon official, to further discuss the issue.
