BREAKING: Anti-NDAA Bill Introduced in Nevada
P.A.N.D.A. People Against The NDAA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Nevada Chapters of PANDA (People Against the National Defense Authorization Act, the NDAA) announce the introduction of BDR 728, The Nevada Liberty Preservation Act
The Bill, sponsored by Nevada State Senator Don Gustavson, will be part of the 2013 Nevada State Legislative session which begins in February. Passage of the Nevada Liberty Preservation Act will demonstrate the Legislature’s commitment to Constitutional Law and Individual Liberty by restoring the right to due process to all persons in Nevada.
The 2012 National Defense Authorization Act was overwhelmingly passed by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama on December 31, 2011. The 2012 NDAA declares the United States to be a battlefield in the war on terror and Section 1021 & 1022 authorize the indefinite detention, without charge or trial, of all persons on US soil suspected of terrorist activity or accused of ‘belligerent behavior’. This violates at least 23 Articles of and Amendments to both the US and Nevada Constitutions.
PANDA, a national, nonpartisan, grass roots organization, founded in January 2012, is committed to the nullification of the NDAA’s unconstitutional authorizations at the state and local levels of government. PANDA started in Bowling Green, OH and has since expanded to 30+ states with over 90 chapters nationwide.
The three Nevada Chapters of PANDA worked resolutely to gain support for this initiative within the State Legislature. Daphne Lee, Clark County Chapter Head said, “We are working hard every day to restore the rights of every Nevadan, and will work tirelessly until we have succeeded”.
Christopher Corbett, Nevada State Coordinator for PANDA said, “I appreciate the community support backing up our efforts and the courage of those members of our governing bodies who are willing to actively protect the constitutional rights of their constituents. We need to restore the Constitutionally protected right to due process for every American.”
The Nevada Chapters of PANDA are among the most active chapters in the nation. While introduction of BDR 728 marks a major milestone, the group has also made significant progress at the City and County levels. During the first quarter of 2013 Nullification of the NDAA will be on the agenda for the Washoe County Commission and the Reno City Council.

Should Quebec separate from Canada? — Potent News POLL RESULTS
PotentNews.com
December 8, 2012
This poll wasn’t meant to be open for 3 months (sorry, we realize that may have skewed the results maybe making them not as much of a snapshot of people’s opinions). In addition, only 71 people voted but I felt bad not sharing this information anyway so here are the results of the poll, which ran from September 6, 2012 to December 8, 2012.
FLASHBACK: Michel Chossudovsky On OWS Movement & Libyan War (w/ SPANISH SUBTITLES)
An interview I conducted with Prof. Michel Chossudovsky last year has been translated into Spanish thanks to youtube user estesudeste. I only discovered this now but I am re-posting this Spanish version here for the rest of my Spanish viewers because this information is still relevant.
Thank you, estesudeste. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. 🙂
This discussion sheds light on a few examples of manufactured dissent around the world, including the Occupy Wall Street movement in the US and the protest movements in Egypt and Libya during the “Arab Spring”. Being familiar with these hidden dynamics of 4th generation warfare helps us gain a more grounded and sober view of events currently unfolding in the middle east and elsewhere.

ACTION ALERT: NDAA Vote This Week — Tell Senate to End Indefinite Detention
by Alcyone
Conscious Life News
November 28, 2012
[URGENT UPDATE FROM POTENT NEWS EDITOR: I would like to apologize to the readers. It appears I hadn’t looked closely enough at what exactly this petition was for. How embarrassing… I considered deleting this post, but that wouldn’t be very honest now would it? Anyway, the point is that upon closer examination it turns out this petition is proposing the Due Process Guarentee Act of 2011 and fortunately P.A.N.D.A. has recently found out that this particular mitigation tactic is just smoke and mirrors. Please disregard everything you read below and refrain from hastily sharing the petition like I foolishly did… OR at the very least, read this explanation of why the Due Process Guarentee Act of 2011 sucks (or this explanation) so you know what you are involving yourself with.]

The 2012 National Defense Authorization Act allows the United States military to detain civilians indefinitely and without charge or trial — even American citizens. Help us reverse this travesty of justice by adding your name at the link below.
Next, please use the new social media tools we’ve built to help us win this fight:
The Senate is taking up the 2013 NDAA this week. Several senators are poised to put forth amendments to revoke or narrow the indefinite detention powers that we’ve been fighting so hard over the last year.
Demand Progress members have sent hundreds of thousands of emails to Congress and have helped fund the courageous lawsuit by Chris Hedges et al — which recently spurred a federal judge to rule that indefinite detention is unconstitutional.
Because there are several amendments in play, our ask is broad and simple: Please urge your Senators to support any and all amendments to revoke or narrow indefinite detention powers.
Earlier this year we helped push an anti-indefinite detention amendment to the House’s version of the NDAA to the brink of passage. The Senate is friendly turf for us: We have a real chance of winning this fight.
Please email the Senate in front of its critical vote — it could happen this week.

[Potent News Editor’s note: Again, while these events are being organized in part by Marxists, I do not condone Marxism and I merely oppose wars of aggression waged against innocent people anywhere. The issue is that imperialism/domination has been disguised as a humanitarian effort and people just keep eating up propaganda that is urging them to support the slaughter of other countries in the name of honour and justice.
I can’t deny that the NSPIRG logo reminds me of the OTPOR logo and (while that could be a coincidence) it is noteworthy that OTPOR/CANVAS has been one of the main culprits involved in various US-backed regime change operations (serving as controlled-opposition) so I’ll be keeping a close eye on NSPIRG in order to maintain a healthy level of skepticism…
That said, Canada’s foreign policy threatens to play a significant role in igniting a 3rd World War. That is something I think few people on this planet would actually want when all is said and done. It seems like a big subject but to me it’s just common sense. You simply can’t help people by bombing them. That is the opposite of help. Bombs cause destruction. They don’t transform into bananas on the way down or anything like that. They explode and inflict widespread carnage ending many innocent people’s lives. Bullets don’t turn into fries before they hit a person. They maintain their metallic structure and blood gets spilled. If you value the sovereignty of other countries, please join us in asking difficult questions, raising awareness and challenging the orthodox narrative that we are constantly force-fed by our corrupt mainstream media.]
