Defense Distributed has offered a pre-sale of its new milling machine which allows buyers to print and assemble a steel AR-15 rifle in the comfort of their own home. The weapon is completely untraceable.
Ghost Gunner is the company’s new computer-numerically-controlled (CNC) milling machine. Unlike its so-called Liberator gun, which is a plastic gun design to be created via a 3D printer, the Ghost Gunner is the PC-connected hardware for manufacturing the lower receiver of the popular AR-15 rifle.
The receiver is the control part of a firearm which houses the operating parts and serves as the frame of the gun. Without it, the weapon is inoperable. It is also where the manufacturer places the serial number, which is required by law.
The US does allow for creating a firearm from parts or kits, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), which states: “[An] unlicensed individual may make a ‘firearm’ as defined in the GCA for his own personal use, but not for sale or distribution.”
As a way to get around that law, manufacturers can make a semi-finished lower receiver that “isn’t technically a gun, but gets as close to the line as possible,” Ars Technica reported. The metal piece is usually 80 percent finished, and can be purchased from a variety of companies. The Ghost Gunner machine will finish the lower receiver, and then customers can purchase the rest of the AR-15 parts online, without being subjected to waiting periods or background checks.
The company’s co-founder, Cody Wilson, is a self-described anarchist. He told Wired that he wants to make the process of avoiding government weapons regulations easier and more accessible than ever before.
“Typically this has been the realm of gunsmiths, not the casual user. This is where digital manufacturing, the maker movement, changes things,” he said. “We developed something that’s very cheap, that makes traditional gunsmithing affordable. You can do it at home.”
United Way Worldwide began accepting bitcoin donations to support its Innovation Fund earlier this month, a move that was widely discussed, given that United Way is one of the largest privately held nonprofits in the world, raising more than $5bn annually.
Nearly 20% of the contributions the Innovation Fund receives are from people employed by corporate partners, including Bank of America, Exxon Mobile, General Electric, ING Group, JPMorgan Chase & Co and the National Football League (NFL). However, according to United Way executive VP and chief strategy officer Evan Hochberg, bitcoin is a way to bolster individual contributions to the Innovation Fund.
As such, Hochberg said that United Way aims to continue to engage the bitcoin community as it seeks to diversify the contributions it receives.
Hochberg told CoinDesk:
“Our engaging bitcoin was a recognition there’s a fast-growing, innovative, passionate group of people looking to make charitable donations based on the interest in using this currency. We wanted to be at the forefront of that conversation.”
The United Way Innovation Fund is a division of the charity dedicated to updating solving global challenges with new technologies and innovations.
Thomas Moore College in Belgium is experimenting with using remote controlled UAV to catch students cheating on their tests
A Belgian school has found a surprising new use for flying drones – making sure students don’t cheat on their exams.
Teachers at Thomas Moore College, in Belgium, are testing out the remote controlled aircraft to keep an eye on students during tests.
DJI Phantom drones are equipped with GoPro cameras to fly around the exam room, looking down on students as they work.
The technology has a way to go before being used for real, though as the drones only have a flight time of around 15 minutes – less than even the shortest exam.
There’s also the problem of the wind pushed out by the drone’s propellers – which could make a mess of exam papers.

We can easily imagine the gradual sophistication and miniaturization of these technologies will eventually achieve what Hitler’s medical experiments did not have time to complete.
If the NWO corporatists plan to eliminate the unfit through genetic engineering their “product” is likely to hatch humans who are docile, less intelligent, obey orders and reproduce in numbers determined to be “sustainable”.
The NWO corporatist view of “sustainability” may be far more reaching than that of the progressive left or the “Sierra Club”. The propaganda that instilled the nebulous concept of “sustainability” years ago will likely be coming back as government “policy” requiring medical intervention to genetically engineer behavior, life-span, rates and gender of pro-creation and more. A population who’s thinking is medically adjusted to make them “FIT” could never find the need to form an organization like the Sierra Club where the goal is to protect the environment from corporate pollution.
