(NaturalNews) Is it getting increasingly harder to voice your opinion in the U.S. without someone labeling you a terrorist or a subversive? The latest outrage comes from the Tom Clancy-inspired “Rainbow Six” videogame series, in which Occupy Wall Street protesters are the new domestic terrorists.
The latest incarnation of the series, “The Patriots,” won’t hit stores until 2013, but here’s a sample of the plot: “Terrorism has evolved and America is under attack. Capitalizing on the sense of frustration in a nation seemingly corrupted by greedy politicians and corporate special interests, a group of US citizens-turned-radicals, the True Patriots, will stop at nothing to overthrow the government and financial institutions. As a leader of the elite Rainbow counter-terrorism unit, players will be the last line of defense tasked with saving the nation no matter the cost.”
If that’s not enough to shock you, the first official trailer for the game is introduced along a similar theme: “This is the day we’ve been waiting for. This is for the jobs you’ve streamlined, the debts you’ve collected, this is for the homes you foreclosed on, the bailouts you took. We are the true patriots. It’s time for a new balance of power. You may not answer to the government, but you will answer to us.”
There may be a few factions within the OWS movement calling for direct action against the government, but they are fair game for law enforcement. But generalizing all OWS-type protesters as terrorists that have gone over the edge and are acting in the extreme is, well, extreme. For the record, the First Amendment specifically protects speech and even civil disobedience, so long as it such behavior doesn’t violate the law or the rights of other citizens. Or, at least, it used to.
Granted, the video game isn’t calling the “terrorist” group Occupy Wall Street, but we think you get the picture, based on the set-up plot of the game. And that, to us, is the real problem here.

Salt – friend or foe?

(NaturalNews) For many years we have been told by medical experts and nutritionists alike that it is crucial for our health to cut down on sodium as much as possible. Statistical data seems to show that a high dietary salt intake (primarily consisting in sodium chloride) can put people at risk of cardiovascular complications.
Consequently, salt has been vilified to such extent in the media that may people strive to remove it from their diets completely. But is wiping salt out of the menu really a wise choice? According to a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, not exactly.
To understand both why salt is healthy and why it has the potential to be dangerous, let’s look at what it can do for us. The primary biological role of sodium is to regulate blood volume and blood pressure by maintaining adequate body fluid levels. When the kidneys detect too little sodium levels in the body, they decrease sodium excretion. But when there is too much sodium, an antidiuretic hormone kicks in and causes the body to retain water. The kidneys will then try to gradually release excess sodium and water through urine, thus bringing the body’s fluid and sodium levels back within normal ranges.
Water and salts are also lost through excessive perspiration, associated with hot climates and physical effort. This can severely offset the body’s internal regulating mechanisms, and adequate rehydration is advised as soon as possible. In normal conditions however, sodium regulation is left almost entirely up to the kidneys. Medical experts usually warn us that if for some reason, the kidneys are unable to excrete excess sodium, the increased blood volume will exert extra pressure on blood vessels and make the heart work harder.
But now scientists say that too little sodium is just as bad. On the one hand, sodium deficiency can cause a range of problems, including headaches, nausea, fatigue and muscle cramps. On the other hand, commercially available foods contain large amounts of hidden salt which makes it difficult for people on a traditional diet to control their sodium intake.
The research of professors Martin J. O’Donnell and Salim Yusuf of McMaster University in Ontario, Canada now reveals that if we have very low levels of sodium in urine, we are at risk of cardiovascular death and congestive heart failure. The study looked at 28,880 people, with an elevated risk of cardiovascular disease, over a seven-year period.
The scientists explained that “clarifying the optimal daily intake of sodium is particularly important in patients with established cardiovascular disease, where it has been inadequately studied.” However, there is no scientific consensus as of yet regarding optimal salt intake, since body sodium levels also depend on how much an individual sweats.
“As a general rule, if people are adding salt to their diet they are taking in too much and they are on the higher end of our spectrum. The first thing people need to do is stop adding salt,” said O’Donnell. Fortunately, certain foods are naturally rich in sodium and can help balance a diet without added salts. Seaweed, green leafy vegetables and tuberous vegetables are natural sources of sodium, as well as other essential salts, such as magnesium and potassium.

(NaturalNews) Corruption, betrayal, and lies — these are the adjectives appropriate to describe the legacy that President Barack Obama is etching into the annals of his political career — and they are ones that are now further solidified after signing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
Some in the mainstream media are blaming his inability to stand up to political pressure, as if this is some sort of justification for his saying one thing and doing another. Others with a more keen awareness of reality and understanding of logic, though, see it as the clear betrayal it truly is. In plain terms, Mr. Obama has officially destroyed what remained of the Bill of Rights — even after saying he would do the opposite.
In case you missed it, the US Congress recently passed NDAA, which provisions the US military to patrol American soil and arrest Americans that are involved with, or even suspected of being involved with, “terrorist” activities. It does not seem to matter to either the legislative or executive branches of the US government that there are already laws in place to deal with those who commit crimes — now anyone and everyone can be considered a terrorist, and be dealt with accordingly (http://www.naturalnews.com/034414_N…).
And what many Americans fail to realize is that Mr. Obama has been lying about supporting, or not supporting, issues like this ever since the early days of his presidential campaign. Back in 2007, for instance, he promised to close Guantanamo Bay and reinstate the constitutional protections that had been lost by its establishment — but Guantanamo Bay, of course, is still operational to this day.
Also in 2007, he made statements opposing the illegal wiretapping of Americans, which is a provision of the USA Patriot Act. But when it came time to approve an extension of this expiring assault against the US Constitution earlier this year, Mr. Obama gleefully signed it, citing the alleged need to “continue dealing with an ongoing terrorist threat” (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/…).

And just so you know, pointing all this out has nothing to do with partisan politics, and everything to do with exposing the truth. Just like predecessor, Mr. Obama is nothing more than a pandering globalist working lock-step with the same evil powers as former President Bush to enslave Americans, and the rest of the world, within a New World Order. And Mr. Obama’s signing of NDAA is just one more piece of evidence that confirms this.

Smoked Marijuana Is Medicine: Feds Still Distributing Rolled Joints

Despite the continued denials from the U.S. federal government — and its absurdly erroneous classification of cannabis as a Schedule I substance, meaning it by definition has a high potential for abuse and no accepted medical uses — the feds themselves have been giving out free marijuana to a limited group of patients for 30 years.
The program had grown to close to 30 patients at its height, but in 1992 stopped accepting any new participants, during the George H.W. Bush Administration.
Activists speculated that happened because of the advent of the HIV/AIDS crisis; with the widespread need of such patients for medicinal cannabis, pot’s medical usefulness could have become uncomfortably obvious to the public at large once hundreds or thousands of people had permission to use it.
Despite the program not having accepted any new patients for more than 20 years, the four surviving federal medical marijuana patients still get their 300 (stale, low-quality) joints a month, and will until they die. Never mind that it’s only 3.5 percent THC (maybe that’s why the federal government recommends its patients use 10 “marijuana cigarettes” a day!) plus being 10 years old and stale as shit by the time the patients receive it.
The federal government seems to heap particular scorn upon the idea of marijuana as smoked medicine. Which is mighty odd, when you consider that every patient in the Compassionate Investigational New Drug program, underway since 1982, gets 300 joints a month, rolled and ready to smoke!
Even while they’re handing out hundreds of ready-to-smoke joints a month, they put bullshit like this on government websites like this one from the DEA [PDF]:
Specifically, smoked marijuana has not withstood the rigors of science-it is not medicine, and it is not safe.
Seems somebody’s talking out of both sides of their mouth.
Marijuana has currently accepted medical use, even in smoked form. The United States federal government actually prescribes and dispenses smoked medical marijuana — supposedly a dangerous, addictive Schedule I substance — to its own citizens!
Marijuana prohibition is unconstitutional, according to author/legal expert Hoam Rogh, author of The U.S. v. Yerbas.

WASHINGTON – Analysts are becoming increasingly concerned that China may launch a surprise military attack on India in 2012, based on conditions today that are similar to those present the last time China attacked India – in 1962, says a report from Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.
The concerns center on an ongoing border dispute between the two countries and joint energy projects that India has entered into with Vietnam in areas of the South China Sea which China claims as its own territory.
Even today, China continues to hold onto Indian territory it captured in 1962, and it continues to initiate troop provocations along the disputed border, warning India against taking it back, despite attempts at confidence building measures.
The Chinese actions suggest it has no intentions of reaching a peaceful resolution to the confrontation.
