Turkey blocks Twitter after PM threatens to wipe it out

Turkey has blocked Twitter hours after embattled Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan threatened to close it down ahead of a key election. It comes after audio recordings purportedly demonstrating corruption among his associates were posted on the site.
Just before midnight, access to Twitter was blocked, Hurriyet Daily reports.
“We now have a court order. We will wipe out Twitter,” the Islamist-leaning leader told a crowd of adulating supporters during a campaign rally in the northwestern city of Bursa on Thursday, AFP reported.
“I don’t care what the international community says. They will see the Turkish republic’s strength,” Erdogan added.
According to the Press Advisory of the Prime Ministry, Twitter officials are currently ignoring court rulings demanding they remove some links.
“[In Erdogan’s speech] it is stated that as long as Twitter fails to change its attitude of ignoring court rulings and not doing what is necessary according to the law, technically, there might be no remedy but to block access in order to relief our citizens,” the statement says, as quoted by Hurriyet.
Last month, Turkey passed a controversial law tightening control over the internet, raising major concerns about free speech. It enabled authorities to block access to web pages within hours without a prior court order.
The Communication Technologies Institution (BTK) lists four court rulings on its website as the reasons for the latest block.
Twitter Inc says it is looking into reports that it has been banned in Turkey, Reuters says.
Multiple recordings have recently emerged not just on Twitter, but also on Facebook and YouTube, purportedly showing Erdogan – whose AK Party dominates the parliament – illegally meddling in political, legal, business, and media affairs.
In one recording, he instructs his son to hide tens of millions of euros worth of cash in the house. In another, he tells off an editor of a major newspaper for producing negative coverage. Erdogan has dismissed most of the recordings as “vile fakes” and accused a “robot lobby” of targeting his government through Twitter.
The leader also threatened to shut down YouTube and Facebook – which is used by 35 million Turks – last month.
The run-up to the local elections on March 30 – which will be followed by parliamentary and presidential polls – has been marked by constant rancour, with allegations of fraud adding to the protests over corruption and the suppression of political and civil freedoms from the opposition.
But the AK Party, which has been in power since 2002, is set to maintain its supremacy, if polls are to be believed.

What the Western Media Won’t Tell You: Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians Also Voted to Join Russia

Media reports acknowledge that 83.1 percent of eligible Crimean voters cast their ballot in the March 16th referendum.
The final tally of the vote was 96.77 percent in favor of joining the Russian Federation, and 2.51 percent against.
The Western media has underscored that both the Crimean Tatars as well as the Ukrainian population of Crimea were against joining the Russian Federation. The Non-Russian population constitutes 41.7 percent of the Crimean population.
According to official data, Russians constitute 58.32% of the population of Crimea, 24.32% are Ukrainians and 12.10% are Crimean Tatars.
The Guardian, in a slither of media disinformation intimated that the Tatars feared a wave of repression if Crimea were to join the Russian Federation:
Now, as Crimea faces a referendum that is likely to seal its fate as a province or satellite of Russia, ethnic tensions are reaching boiling point. In a chilling echo of history, Tatar houses in the Crimean city of Bakhchisarai have been marked with an ominous X, just as they were before the Soviet-era deportations. On Monday two Tatar businesses were firebombed.
…. The prospect of a return to living under Moscow’s rule is disturbing. “People are in panic. “We are trying to keep people calm but they are scared of the Russian soldiers and Cossacks that come here,” he said.” (Crimea’s Tatars fear the worst as it prepares for referendum | World news | theguardian.com
Contrary to the reports of 135 international observers from 23 countries, the Western media in chorus has suggested without a shred of evidence that the elections were rigged and that Crimea was under Russian military occupation.
The observer mission reports which include members of theEuropean Parliament have been casually ignored by the mainstream Western media:
Mateus Piskorkski, the leader of the European observers’ mission and Polish MP: “Our observers have not registered any violations of voting rules.”
Ewald Stadler, member of the European Parliament, dispelled the “referendum at gunpoint” myth: “I haven’t seen anything even resembling pressure… People themselves want to have their say.”
Pavel Chernev: Bulgarian member of parliament: “Organization and procedures are 100 percent in line with the European standards,” he added.

Johann Gudenus, member of the Vienna Municipal Council: “Our opinion is – if people want to decide their future, they should have the right to do that and the international community should respect that. There is a goal of people in Crimea to vote about their own future. Of course, Kiev is not happy about that, but still they have to accept and to respect the vote of people in Crimea”.

Serbian observer Milenko Baborats “People freely expressed their will in the most democratic way, wherever we were… During the day we didn’t see a single serious violation of legitimacy of the process,”
Srdja Trifkovic, prominent and observer from Serbia: “The presence of troops on the streets is virtually non-existent and the only thing resembling any such thing is the unarmed middle-aged Cossacks who are positioned outside the parliament building in Simferopol. But if you look at the people both at the voting stations and in the streets, like on Yalta’s sea front yesterday afternoon, frankly I think you would feel more tense in south Chicago or in New York’s Harlem than anywhere round here,” he said. (For more details see Crimean ‘Referendum at Gunpoint’ is a Myth – International Observers By Global Research News, March 17, 2014)
Yet according to Time Magazine, without acknowledging the reports of the international observers, the ballot had to have been rigged and the vote was held under the gun of the Russian military:
“95 percent voted in favor of becoming a part of Russia. That may seem like an impossible result, the mark of a rigged election. And in some ways it was. The vote was held during a Russian military occupation of Crimea and the ballot did not offer voters the option of keeping their current status in Ukraine. ( Time, March 17, 2014)
In chorus, Western media reports have stated that both Ukrainians and Tatars were firmly against seceding from Ukraine. They also intimated that the Tatar community had decided not to vote.
According to the Washington Post, “a vote in favor of seceding” was inevitable because “ethnic Russians make up 60 percent of Crimea’s population”. But the result was not 60 percent in favor, it was 97 percent in favor, indicating that all major ethnic groups in the Crimea voted in favor of seceding from Ukraine.
The figures do not add up: The Russians constitute 58 percent of Crimea’s population, yet 97 percent of the vote was in favor of joining Russia. If Ukrainians and Tatars had refused to participate in the referendum, voter participation would have been substantially less that 83.1.
The referendum was also a vote against the US-EU sponsored Coup d’etat.
The results confirm that the Tatars and Ukrainians who did cast their ballot, also voted overwhelmingly in favor of joining Russia.
What this 97 percent vote also indicates is a rejection of the illegal Neo-Nazi government in Kiev. The Election poster (image above) reads:

The Aftermath of Melvin Highrise Stabbings and the Surprising Twist of Lethal Force Tactics — video included

OCCURRENCE OF EVENTS
A total of four people were stabbed. Three people in their late thirties, possibly early forties and one elderly lady who was in her sixties. But what hasn’t been disclosed is the rest of the story. This madman successfully stabbed four people but he tried to stab a lot of others. The madman’s name is Kevin Richards, age 27, who has a history of mental illness. His mental illness he had or has is unknown.
From my investigation the following is what happened. (This might not be in chronological order of how it really went down) It started on the 12th floor were this madman physically assaulted a man on that floor by trying to stab him and punched him. Kevin is a tenant of the building and he punched his roommate . After he tried to kill his roommate , the madman grabbed a knife and started running through the building up and down the stair cases.
Kevin ran down to the 8th floor where he stabbed a man in the neck at his front door. The man that got stabbed made his way into the stair case hoping the madman would chase him but instead Kevin forced his way into the apartment and stabbed a sixty year old lady in the neck in her own living room, this lady was the mother of the man who just got stabbed. After Kevin stabbed the old lady he ran out the front door and chased her son down the staircase. The old lady courageously followed and chased the madman down the stairs hoping that she can help defend her son. By that time her son was bleeding pretty bad and entered the 4th floor from the stair case. He went down the hall to to get the other stair case located on the other side of the building and ran down the remaining flights of stairs where he opened the door to go outside and went to Go Go Pizza.
He chased two 15 year old girls with the knife trying to stab them but both of them managed to get away on the 10th floor. The time of when he chased the girls is unknown , whether if it was before or after the stabbing of man and his elderly mother is unknown but it most likely could’ve happened before the 8th floor incident.
After Kevin stabbed the two victims on the 8th floor, he made his way into an apartment on the 1st floor. In the apartment there was two parents, a child and a dog. Kevin began to stab the mother by attempting to stab her in the neck and face but she put her hands up and got her hands cut up. There was a little girl the age of nine sleeping in her room. The madman furiously started looking around the apartment to stab more victims and went and checked the bathroom. Thank God he did not hurt the little girl. After he opened the bathroom door the father came out of another room and Kevin attacked him by stabbing the father in the neck and head. The madman also decided to stab the little girls dog.
After that Kevin forced his way into another apartment on the 1st floor where he started looking through their kitchen to obtain more knives. The courageous resident somehow subdued him and literally threw him off of the balcony. There are other stories also floating around that Kevin didn’t get thrown but he jumped.
Kevin got back up on his feet, hopped the fence in the front parking lot and tried to break into Go Go Pizza and also tried to break into some tenant’s apartment above Go Go Pizza. After being unsuccessful in the break and enter attempt he then jumped off the second story balcony and sprained his ankle and continued to perpetuate his rampage.
Police later shot Kevin with rubber bullets, tazered him and took him into custody on a stretcher. The surprising twist is how the police utilized their less lethal force tactics on a psycho killer but decided to use brutal deadly force on people who were no where near as a threat like this madman.
Kevin Richards has been arrested but still hasn’t been charged as of today (March 10th). His roommate informed me that he has been informed that Kevin will not be around society life for at least ten years.
His roommate made mention that Kevin was acting strange a month before the incident by not “grooming himself” and keeping good hygiene. The roommate believes that Kevin might be schizophrenic, a mental illness in which the person hears voices in their head that is not is theirs, but that is just the opinion of the roommate and not diagnosed by a doctor.

Ottawa police arrested Kevin Martin, 32, in the early morning hours last Friday at an apartment building on Stewart Street.
Martin’s lawyer, Michael Davies, asked for a publication ban which prohibits the circumstances of the incident from being published. He told reporters outside the courthouse he doesn’t want the evidence out in the public domain in case the matter is brought before a jury.
