Two suspected gunmen responsible for the shootings at the Washington Navy Yard in Southeast D.C. are “down”, US Navy officials report. Four people were killed and eight others, including two police officers, wounded during an attack early on Monday.
ABC Channel 7 reports different data on the number of casualties, citing two police sources, claiming that up to 8 people were killed.
Meanwhile, News 4 reports that two sources within the law enforcement agencies say that both “downed” gunmen were killed by the police.
The spokeswoman for the MedStar Washington Hospital Center said that it has received three gunshot victims from the Navy Yard.
A male police officer and two civilian women are in critical conditions, but have “very good” chances for survival. The victims said that shots from semi-automatic guns were fired at them, the she added.
After going on a rampage, the the gunmen have reportedly barricaded themselves in one of the Navy Yard’s facilities where they were cornered by the police.
Police have closed South Capitol and M streets due to the incident.
The shooting happened inside the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters (NAVSEA) building, the Navy said in a statement.
It’s the largest of the Navy’s five system commands. It engineers, builds, buys and maintains ships, submarines and combat systems that meet the Fleet’s current and future operational requirements.
Program management analyst, Rick Mason, who is a civilian with the US Navy, told AP that a gunman was shooting from a fourth floor overlook in the hallway outside his office.
He said the gunman was aiming down at people in the building’s cafeteria on the first floor. Mason said he could hear the shots but could not see the shooter.

Hundreds of police officers and FBI agents were involved in the manhunt. Fire and emergency crews also responded to the scene. A “shelter in place” order has been issued for Navy Yard personnel, the Navy said.
The Navy says about 3,000 people work in the building.

What would you do if a police officer threatened to arrest you for trying to share a sandwich with a desperately hungry homeless woman that really needed it? Such a notion sounds absolutely bizarre, but this is actually happening in major cities all over the United States. More than 50 large U.S. cities have adopted “anti-camping” or “anti-food sharing” laws in recent years, and in many of these cities the police are strictly enforcing these laws. Sometimes the goal appears to be to get the homeless people to go away. Apparently the heartless politicians that are passing these laws believe that if the homeless can’t get any more free food and if they keep getting thrown into prison for “illegal camping” they will eventually decide to go somewhere else where they won’t be hassled so much. This is yet another example of how heartless our society is becoming. The middle class is being absolutely shredded and poverty is absolutely exploding, but meanwhile the hearts of many Americans are growing very cold. If this continues, what is the future of America going to look like?
An organization called Love Wins Ministries made national headlines recently when police in Raleigh, North Carolina threatened to arrest them if they distributed sausage biscuits and coffee to homeless people living in the heart of the city. Love Wins Ministries had been doing this for years, but now it is apparently illegal. The following is from someone who was actually there…
On the morning of Saturday, August, 24, Love Wins showed up at Moore Square at 9:00 a.m., just like we have done virtually every Saturday and Sunday for the last six years. We provide, without cost or obligation, hot coffee and a breakfast sandwich to anyone who wants one. We keep this promise to our community in cooperation with five different, large suburban churches that help us with manpower and funding.
On that morning three officers from Raleigh Police Department prevented us from doing our work, for the first time ever. An officer said, quite bluntly, that if we attempted to distribute food, we would be arrested.
Our partnering church brought 100 sausage biscuits and large amounts of coffee. We asked the officers for permission to disperse the biscuits to the over 70 people who had lined up, waiting to eat. They said no. I had to face those who were waiting and tell them that I could not feed them, or I would be arrested.

McCain has been calling for intervention in Syria from the very beginning and has been the American mouthpiece for Israel.
Whenever there was a so called ‘Friends of Syria’ (enemies of Syria) meeting he would be there with the Saudis and the Qataris, the Turks and the French and other Muslim Brotherhood leaders, planning on the next step to bring down the Syrian Government. These so called “Friends of Syria” meetings are nothing more than a gathering of leaders supporting Al Qaeda/FSA oppositions and the countries fueling the war in Syria, deciding what their next step will be.
This meetings are always followed by a massacre in Syria, which was probably planned at these meeting. These enemy countries of Syria, who are supplying the terrorists with weapons and paying them a wage are now trying to hold another meeting. They are planning to hold it in Italy, but Italy does not want them in their country and are denying it.
It is true that Senator McCain has been to visit his friends in Syria. He has been there on several occasions to support his FSA army. The very same army that has been butchering innocent Syrians. The same army which is made up of people from all over the world.

John McCains so called friends in Syria, who he is caught on camera with, are the very same criminals who have been kidnapping and beheading innocent people. They are Al Qaeda murderers and these are McCains friends, that he wants to bomb thee innocent people in Syria for.
