VIDEO — Pro-Syrian protesters rally in Ukraine

Press TV
May 23, 2013

They are holding Syrian and Ukrainian flags, which symbolize solidarity between the two nations.

This peaceful gathering in Ukraine’s capital Kiev speaks against terrorism in Syria, which protesters say, is sponsored by some Arab and Western governments.

Ukraine has been supporting the Syrian government since the unrest began in March 2011 in the Arab nation. These people say they feel free to protest here as Ukraine is against any foreign military intervention, especially if it claims thousands of lives.

BREAKING: Syria: False Flag designed to discredit Russia

by Christof Lehmann
nsnbc
January 12, 2013

According to an unnamed Syria: False Flag designed to discredit Russia. | nsnbcRussian military diplomat some of the allies behind the “Syrian Opposition” are in the planning stages of a false flag operation which has been designed for the purpose of discrediting the reputation of Russia as an honest broker in the Syrian crisis.

On Friday, 11 January 2012 the Russian military diplomat stated that the involved parties are in the process of recruiting Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian mercenaries who are supposed to take part in the operation.

The mercenaries would then be deployed to locations in Turkey and Jordan where large-scale scenes, supposed to represent destroyed Syrian villages have long been built for training purposes.

The false Russian mercenaries would then engage in mock fire fights with supposed fighters of the Free Syrian Army and be captured. The captured “actors” are then supposed to be interviewed on camera while admitting that they had been deployed from Russia to “support the Syrian Regime”.

The supposed “confessions of the Russian mercenaries” would then be supposed to be aired on international mainstream media such as CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera and others with the intention to discredit Russia and its diplomatic role with regard to solving the crisis in Syria.

The planned false flag should create the backdrop for a diplomatic row and justify regime change and eventually a military intervention by NATO forces. The false flag is most likely also designed to discredit eventual initiatives toward the deployment of UN Blue Chapcas under supervision of the CSTO.

A cameraman working for Syrian state TV was killed in front of his house in a west Damascus neighborhood, state news agency SANA said. The assassination of yet another Syrian TV employee was reportedly carried out by an “armed terrorist group.”

Haidar al-Sumudi, 45, was shot and killed as his was leaving his house in the Kfar Spusseh neighborhood on his way to work Friday night, SANA reported.

The number of journalist kills in Syria has spiked since the country plunged into violent civil conflict in March 2011. Over 60 professional and citizen-journalists have been killed so far, according to mid-December figures published by media watchdog Reporters Without Borders.

State media employees have been targeted on numerous occasions. On December 4, a reporter for government newspaper Tishrin was shot dead in Damascus. Basel Tawfiq Yussif, a journalist working for Syrian TV, was gunned down the previous month. In July, TV host Mohammed al-Saeed was kidnapped and executed, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Meanwhile, journalists continue to criticize the Syrian government for its reluctance to allow international reporters to enter the country and provide independent coverage of the violence unfolding. Damascus officials have said that they cannot guarantee the journalists’ security due to internal instability.

One of the most vivid instances of what might befall a journalist in Syria today is Ukrainian journalist Ankhar Kochneva, who was kidnapped by a group of Syrian rebels back in October, and her whereabouts remain unknown.

The kidnappers have threatened to kill the reporter if a $50 million ransom is not paid.
