Illinois Teen Pleads Not Guilty to Terrorism
ABC NewsA suburban Chicago teenager has pleaded not guilty to charges he sought to join an al-Qaida-linked militant group fighting Bashar Assad’s regime in Syria.
Abdella Ahmad Tounisi’s (too-NEE’-seez) attorney entered the plea Wednesday at a federal court in Chicago. The 18-year-old Tounisi stood by her side in orange jail garb, his legs shackled.

Russia reaffirms S-300 commitment, calls it a ‘stabilising factor’

In an angry reaction to the lifting of a European Union (EU) embargo on arms for Syrian rebels, Russia has reaffirmed plans to supply advanced air defence missiles to the Syrian government forces.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov accused the EU of “throwing fuel on the fire” by letting its Syria arms embargo expire.
Mr. Ryabkov told an urgently called press conference on Tuesday that Russia would not scrap its contract to supply Syria with S-300 long-range air defence systems despite “signals” from Western capitals.
“We see no reason to review our stance,” he said, adding S-300 would be useful in deterring “hotheads” from internationalising the conflict in Syria.
Earlier, an official had said Moscow would refrain from supplying S-300 to Syria. Mr. Ryabkov stressed that Moscow was “disappointed” by the EU decision, which “harmed” the prospects of an international peace conference jointly proposed by Russia and the U.S.

Video obtained by CBS13 of the arrest on the 8300 block of Folsom Boulevard shows a suspect being restrained by a male officer’s legs, while a female officer strikes him 10 times with a baton. According a statement from Sacramento Police Department, a man in his early 40s entered the Metro PCS store and made unintelligible statements to a female employee. She called 911 fearing for her safety. The man left the store, but went back in when officers arrived and attempted to barricade himself inside by trying to secure the front door. The EU has agreed to lift the Syrian arms embargo.The UK and France led the effort which has now opened the door to lethal aid flowing into the hands of the Syrian rebels. The UK aid agency Oxfam has warned of “devastating consequences” if more arms are sent into Syria. Anti-war activist Richard Becker says the arms embargo never stopped western supporters of the opposition. And Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich, an independent researcher and writer, says Washington is not entirely sincere when it calls for peace talks.

PANDA Educates at Old Timer’s Day Festival in Van Buren, Arkansas

On Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 of 2013, members of the Arkansas state PANDA team conducted street outreach operations to reveal truths surrounding the unconstitutional and inhumane aspects of the 2012 NDAA in downtown Van Buren, Arkansas, at the Old Timer’s Day Festival, by talking with citizens and passing out written information.
The festival featured music, arts and crafts, and various types of entertainment on the city’s Historic Main Street. More than 200 exhibitors from seven states were present at this festival.
Arkansas PANDA state team leader Levonne Gryder reports success in recruiting new members and that a significant amount of information was distributed to citizens at this event.
Additionally, members of the John Birch society are thanked for directing citizens to the PANDA team members to discuss the indefinite detention clauses in the 2012 NDAA.
Much thanks to PANDA Arkansas for educating countless numbers of people about the violations to liberty which are embodied the 2012 NDAA.
