If you have decided to join the grassroots activist call to occupy Bilderberg, then you are most likely in the process of getting ready for your trip.
For those of you that are still on the fence about going I have one last article that will hopefully convince you to hit the road yourself, and be a part of the new media for this year’s event.
The following is a list that covers many of the points I have discussed, and some that I haven’t in a quick and easy format for easy reading and sharing. I have appreciated all of the tips, suggestions and other emails I have gotten over the past month on this topic, and I have really enjoyed working with theintelhub bringing you this information…..So if you’re not already convinced, here are the top ten reasons to occupy Bilderberg (or atleast my top reasons):
1. Cover many important issues in one spot – With so many different problems facing our species at the same time, getting involved in activism can seem like fighting an octopus with infinite tentacles, or more appropriately an “infinipus” as Madison Rupert described on end the lie radio this Sunday while discussing the global aristocracy with Bob Tuskin, Curt Williams and myself. At the Bilderberg meeting you can find all of those tentacles (or at least most of them) in one place.
The power structure that exploits us does not start and end with Bilderberg, and is more philosophical in nature than anything. However the people that do control the worlds land, resources, media and political control systems are all represented as this meeting, making it a “one stop shop” of sorts, in regards to activism. As I have been saying all month, the military industrial complex, banking interests, royalty, mainstream media, and other predatory organizations are involved with this meeting. This is not necessarily because these groups get along all of the time, they just happen to share the common goal of land, finance and resource centralization.
2. Keep up the pressure – the only reason why Bilderberg is even talked about now is because of the hard work of independent media in the past. Now that those involved with Bilderberg are finally admitting its existence, it’s time to overpower the mainstream media’s watered down and uninformative depiction of the group. Especially with the recent surge in activism, this is a perfect opportunity to gain ground on an organization who has managed to stay out of the spotlight for all of these years.
3. Outgrow the mainstream media – The mainstream media is a joke in so many ways. Not only do they provide a completely fictional version of reality for the general population, but they have largely lost relevance due to the rise of the decentralized alternative media in the past decade. In so many ways this meeting represents the incredible dishonesty of the mainstream media, and mainstream culture as a whole, but most people don’t even realize it because they don’t even know that this organization exists. However, if they were to find out about this organization because thousands of independent people became the media themselves and did the work that the mainstream media hasn’t been doing, that would radically change the whole political paradigm in the entire world.
4. Identify the real ruling class – As I discussed in detail in my article “Identify Bilderberg as the real 1%”, the Bilderberg group is a meeting of the world’s aristocracy, whose names are surprisingly absent in discussions about global inequality. Unfortunately, “the ruling class” is just some vague abstraction for most people, but in reality there is a group of aristocrats who are descendants of the feudal slave masters from the Middle Ages. These people have names and they also have fortune 100 companies that all have ties to the Bilderberg group. Bringing these names and organizations into the light would finally define “the ruling class”.
5. Bring think tanks into the political discussion – While the general population is trapped in the arguments of the false left/right paradigm, there are think tanks and policy institutes compiled of aristocrats who are literally writing all of the legislation that eventually gets forced through congress by lobbyists. Getting the political discussion away from the meaningless politicians and towards the groups that give them their orders would be a huge step in the right direction for the freedom movement.
6. Document ties between politicians, multinational corporations and royalty – This is the aspect that should be most appealing to occupy wall street, who has been justly speaking out against financial influence in Washington. Bilderberg is a consolidation of some of the oldest money in the world, and they have openly admitted to setting global policy, from war to economic measures, to picking presidents. Bilderberg is the very epitome of this corruption between political and financial interests that has taken center stage in the past year. This is the group that owns wallstreet and Washington, so this is by far the most fitting place for occupy wall street to go next. This is the perfect place to prove and document the corruption that is taken place, so the general public will no longer have the ability to deny it.
7. Peaceful gathering – Thanks to the mainstream media, protesting in general has gotten a pretty bad wrap. Overall, most protestors for any cause are generally peaceful, and I predict that Bilderberg will be even calmer than most. From what I have seen of those supporting “occupy Bilderberg”, it seems like everyone is on the same page. Everyone that I have come into contact with has been extremely well read and understands that violence accomplishes nothing, especially when fighting a propaganda battle against a group of people who have all of the military force in the world. I am also predicting that the police wont be starting much trouble either, because the last thing that the Bilderberg group wants is a police riot on their behalf broadcasting worldwide.
8. Unify activists – It doesn’t matter if you think that wall street is to blame for our current crisis, or if you think that the government is to blame, either way this organization is in control of both of those institutions so this should be a mission that we can all agree on. If we want to create a free society, we are going to need to find some common ground and work from there. With the world caught up in war, austerity and financial collapse many different people from many different walks of life have begun to speak up, all of us wanting freedom, but all of us also having different ideas about what freedom is and how to get there. There is no reason why the Bilderberg group cannot be that common ground from which we begin to clear a path towards freedom.
9. The ripple effect – For far too long people who have cared about freedom and imagined a better world for our species have felt alone in their interests, and have been forced onto the fringes of society. The attention that this year’s Bilderberg has gotten, and the increasing interest in activism should tell us that we are far from alone, and that our numbers are growing by the day. There is still a lot of work to be done though, and every action that you take will have a ripple effect on other people and on the global situation as a whole. The ripple effect that a strong turnout this year at Bilderberg would cause is unimaginable, so I’m sure that’s something that you would like to be a part of
10. Now or Never – It has been four years since Bilderberg has last met in the US, so chances are they won’t be back for a while…..Now is your chance….

Syria, Yemen, and America’s Quest for Imperial Dominance
Neo-Imperialism by Faux-Democracy, Terrorism, and Propaganda.
guest post by Eric Draitser of StopImperialism.com,
May 25, 2012 – At the G8 summit last week, President Obama and other officials in his administration, began utilizing the talking point of Yemen being a model to be emulated in Syria. Ostensibly, they were referring to the “peaceful” transition of power in Yemen as an example of what they would like to see in Syria. However, the comparison goes much deeper than simply this superficial connection. The truth is that Yemen represents, in more ways than one, the blueprint that the US imperialist ruling class would like to see applied to the escalating conflict in Syria.
Puppet Regimes and Faux Democracy
The “transition” of power in Yemen, from Saleh to Hadi, is a prime example of the hypocrisy of US policy, touting it as a victory for democracy while concealing the obvious fact that it was the creation of a puppet regime. Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi has been presented as the legitimate leader of Yemen, despite the fact that he was the U.S. choice to govern that country. His legitimacy depended on the myth of a democratically elected regime; the US propagates this myth wantonly, pretending that people won’t remember that Hadi ran unopposed in February.
If the purpose of democracy is to create forms of governance accountable to the citizenry and to establish a government that is truly representative of the people’s desires, then it would be an outright lie to call the Hadi administration anything close to a democracy. In fact, as recent developments in Yemen have shown, his regime is nothing more than a puppet government, put in power by the United States in order to allow the CIA and other shadowy entities free reign to use drones, Special Forces, and other covert operations in what is supposedly a sovereign nation.
Not only is Hadi, the former vice President under Saleh, not democratically elected, he is the antithesis of progress in a country that was on the front lines of the Arab Spring. The people who marched through the streets of Sanaa and other cities across Yemen did so with the intention of effecting change in a country which, in the eyes of many, was seen as a backwards dictatorship. However, despite all the rhetoric about hope, change, and progress from the US State Department and the White House, President Obama and his minions, including John Brennan (counter-terrorism advisor and frequent representative of Obama in Yemen), immediately lent their support to Hadi. The betrayal came as no surprise to any informed observer as the United States was only interested in its own strategic interests in the region.
US Tactics and the Geopolitical Imperative in Yemen
US interest in Yemen is certainly not rooted in altruism or a desire to promote democratic ideals. On the contrary, it is the application of a long-standing geopolitical strategy to control international trade through the Mandab Strait and Suez Canal, access to African raw materials, and most specifically, block the expansion of Chinese economic influence in both the Middle East and Africa. For these reasons, the United States has a keen interest in both Yemen and Somalia, desperate to maintain chaos in those countries so as to prevent stable, nationalist leaders from emerging. In so doing, Washington once again shows itself to be an imperialist aggressor, interested only in maintaining and expanding the empire.
The tactics of this strategy are myriad. First and foremost, the US, in accordance with long-standing policy dating back to the Carter administration, uses the red herring of “Islamic extremism” and terrorism, to justify any actions it deems necessary for the advancement of its own agenda. In places like Afghanistan and Yemen, the enemy is Al-Qaeda which must be fought with US military might, while in Libya and Syria, Al-Qaeda is an ally fighting against the oppressive regimes of Gaddafi and Assad. This duplicity should come as no surprise since Washington’s foreign policy is based on expanding US hegemony rather than promoting any ideals.
The second aspect of America’s imperialist strategy is the fomenting of ethnic, tribal, and other sectarian conflicts. In doing so, Washington is able to prevent the emergence of any form of nationalism that, by definition, would stand in opposition to US imperialism. One must simply look across the Mandab Strait for an example of this strategy: Somalia. A nation of strategic and geographical importance, Somalia has been effectively destroyed by US policy over the last twenty years, having been transformed from a proud nation to a loose collection of tribal groups dominated by repugnant warlords with no regard for national identity.
In Yemen, we’ve seen this strategy employed vis-à-vis the Huthi rebellion, the propagandistic use of tribal groups as proxies of Saudi Arabia, Iran, or whomever the US wants to demonize, and countless other examples of these sorts of divisive tactics. In this way, the imperialists are able to keep Yemen fragmented, using it as a pawn on the geopolitical chessboard.
A Connection Between Yemen and Syria?
With all this talk about Yemen, the question might be, “So, what’s this got to do with Syria?” The answer to this question can be found in an analysis of the social movements of the two countries. In Syria, just as in Yemen, there is a real, pro-democracy opposition that took to the streets in hopes of forcing reforms. Both movements began with high-minded ideals and sought to end what they perceived to be the outdated rule of dictatorial leaders. However, unlike Yemen, Syria has been under assault by West-sponsored, foreign mercenary terrorists who have usurped the title of “opposition”, thereby making the real opposition into a mere irrelevancy on the international stage. The United States and its proxies in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Israel, and elsewhere are responsible for this reprehensible turn of events.
And so, when the Obama administration claims that the Yemeni model is the best course of action in Syria, what they mean is that their tactics of subversion through terrorism are simply a means to an end. Just as in Yemen, the United States seeks to topple Assad and install a puppet government, one that would be comfortable under the thumb of the imperialist ruling class. The US has no interest in protecting the rights of the ethnic and religious minorities or the real opposition (namely the National Coordinating Committee and the Popular front) in Syria, just as they had little interest in furthering the democratic aspirations of the people of Yemen. Rather, Obama and those who control him, seek regime change in Syria in order to use that nation as a geopolitical chess piece against Iran, Russia and any other nation unfortunate enough to be deemed an “enemy” of the United States.

Istanbul hosted so-called P5+1 countries. They include the five permanent Security Council members – America, Russia, China, Britain, and France – plus Germany.
Iran participated in good faith. Its delegation came with little hope hardline Western views would soften. On April 14, both sides agreed to more talks in Baghdad on May 23.
At issue isn’t Iran’s nuclear program. Tehran’s a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) signatory. It complies fully with provisions. No evidence suggests otherwise. Nonetheless, bogus accusations persist.
Iran won’t relinquish its legal rights. Washington remains hardline and obstructionist. An unnamed US official called May 23 talks “very difficult.”
Both sides continued on Thursday. A possible Geneva June round was discussed. On May 24, the Washington Post headlined “Iran nuclear talks continue on second day,” saying:
Talks resumed Thursday “amid fading hopes that these latest negotiations would help ease tensions over Tehran’s disputed nuclear program.”
As explained above and numerous previous times, Iran’s program complies fully with international law obligations. Washington’s the problem, not Tehran.

The New War in Iraq
guest post by Eric Draitser of StopImperialism.com,
May 23, 2012 – Since the withdrawal of US military forces from Iraq, there has been an ongoing campaign of demonization and subversion of Prime Minister Maliki. Though this effort likely began with an assassination attempt in December of 2011, it has come to a head in recent months with the warrant, flight, and subsequent trial of Vice President Hashemi. This conflict illustrates not only the deep divides that exist within the ruling power structure in Baghdad, but also the attempts by foreign powers to exert control and influence over the future of Iraq.

Image: Current Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has walked a careful balancing act between departing US occupation forces, the foreign-interests that sent them, and establishing national sovereignty including independently determined relationships with neighboring states such as Syria and Iran.
Prime Minister Maliki came to power by overcoming the opposition of US puppet figures such as Allawi and Chalabi who, despite incredible financial support and propaganda, were unable to establish coalitions or even legitimate bases of support. Instead, Maliki emerged as the Shiite leader who was able to unify officials from a variety of ethnic and religious groups. At the time, this seemed a positive development for US military leadership and the Bush administration, anxious to have anyone who could exert control over Iraq.
However, in the years since then, Maliki has developed into a strong, nationalist leader who, in the interests of the Shiite majority and Iraq more generally, has exponentially expanded relations with Tehran, consolidated political control (particularly in the Kurdish North), and broken with the United States and its proxies in the GCC on issues such as Libya, Syria, and oil contracts. Naturally, this is anathema to US designs for Iraq and has lead to this concerted effort to remove, by any means necessary, Prime Minister Maliki.
Assassination Attempt a Warning To Maliki
In the midst of the withdrawal of US troops from Iraqi soil last December, a very rare event took place: a bomb exploded inside the heavily fortified Green Zone of Baghdad. Although the event garnered little international attention against the backdrop of the so-called “end of the Iraq War”, it sent a very clear message to the leadership in Baghdad – toe the US line or suffer the consequences. In the aftermath of the bombing, Maliki stated publicly that the plot was clearly an attempt on his life. However, instead of capitulating to such threats, the Prime Minister immediately denounced the episode and proceeded to meet with Iranian President Ahmadinejad. Undoubtedly, this decision conveyed to the United States that idea that Maliki would not succumb to pressure and threats.
The lessons learned from this failed assassination were significant. First and foremost, the United States and its proxies in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and elsewhere came to recognize that Maliki and his Shiite base of support in Baghdad had become more than just a thorn in the side of imperial ambitions. Rather, they were forced to admit that he and his ruling coalition had become a legitimate nationalist force. Secondly, those nations with designs to control Iraqi oil wealth, among other natural resources, were forced to admit that the traditional, strong-arm tactics of assassination and physical violence would not be effective against the entrenched and popular Maliki. Instead, they had to change the strategy from overt attacks to covert subversion.
The Hashemi Affair
When the story of Iraqi Vice President Hashemi being implicated in the operation of an assassination death squad first broke, it was immediately apparent that the issue was going to become an attempt to divide the government and destroy Prime Minister Maliki. Not only was Hashemi a representative of the Iraqiya bloc, an integral part of the fragile coalition ruling the country, but he was a Sunni. This meant that Iraq would be divided along political and religious lines. Naturally, the evolution of the crisis only furthered these initial conclusions.
Upon receiving news that an arrest warrant had been issued, Hashemi immediately fled to the Kurdish territory, seeking asylum in the arms of the Barzani government in Arbil. This initial move by Hashemi signaled to the world that this conflict was part of a much larger political struggle that would pit the Shiite majority led by Maliki against much of the Sunni and Kurdish minorities. It is no secret that these divisions have been, and continue to be, the locus of power maintained in Iraq by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and their paymasters in Washington. In order to maintain their domination of Iraq’s wealth and resources, they needed to get rid of Maliki and they were determined to use their agent Hashemi to do so.
Any lingering doubts about the role of Saudi Arabia and Qatar in fostering this conflict were erased when Hashemi left Arbil in the semi-autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan for Qatar followed by Saudi Arabia. It was during these trips where Hashemi met with various power brokers, essentially receiving his orders from the reactionary Sunni leaders of those two nations. Hashemi had proven to be a useful pawn on the chessboard of the Middle East, in which the Gulf monarchies, always acting in the interests of their masters in Washington, seemed intent on exerting their dominance over Iraq at all costs.
The final stop on Hashemi’s destabilization tour was Turkey, where he resides today. Ankara, which has its own strategic interests in Iraq, for which Maliki presents an obstacle, has provided Hashemi with safe haven, even after Interpol issued a warrant calling for Hashemi’s arrest. Turkey, with its large Kurdish minority and ambitions of becoming a dominant regional power, has maintained that they will not extradite Hashemi back to Baghdad where his trial continues. By providing safe haven to an international fugitive, Turkey is playing a dangerous political game, one that threatens not only their own stability, but that of the entire region.
The Propaganda of “Dictatorship”
In the last two months, as the various forces have aligned to subvert the Maliki government, the talking point has been that Maliki is consolidating power into a dictatorship. Naturally, the propaganda function of such absurdities is to conflate Maliki with Saddam Hussein, thereby delegitimizing him in the eyes of an uninformed public. In fact, as Maliki has been attacked seemingly from all sides, he has moved to consolidate control so as to maintain the fragile coalition that rules Iraq despite (not thanks to) the weak, decentralized government established by the US-imposed Iraqi Constitution. In so doing, Maliki has won many enemies while, simultaneously working to restore Iraq’s reputation internationally.
The cries of “dictator” must be directly attributed to the forces of Western imperialism that control much of the international media and who seem to have no issue whatsoever with the dictatorships of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and other proxy states. Of course, this demonization of Maliki is a last-ditch effort at destabilizing his government in the wake of the string of failures already mentioned.
Having fought an aggressive and illegal war, committed billions of dollars to a reconstruction process that favored corporate and financial interests, and sought to exploit natural resources, the United States and its regional proxies have seemingly exhausted all avenues to rid themselves of the disease of Prime Minister Maliki. However, diseases often mutate, changing their form to become resistant to cures and antidotes – surviving even under extreme circumstances. To accept this analogy, we must see Maliki and his relations with Iran as having infected the imperial body and, as anti-imperialists interested in peace, prosperity and freedom for all, not just some, we must support Maliki and the Iraqi people in their ongoing struggle for true independence.
