I can legitimately say, don’t eat the snow.
Alert level is 100CPM. Today we are at 76.9CPM and 74.2CPM, plus a steady return on the CDV (civil defense) beta counter.

This means small particles of radioactive material are indeed coming down in the precipitation. Past tests show around 30CPM in the same spot on a nice day with no precipitation.
Several past snow storms have produced similar results.. from 80CPM to 110CPM !! Last year in 2012, did multiple tests of the snow showing alert levels were reached last year.

Today’s tests:
Test 2 of 2
Performed two 10 minute counts, using two inspector alert geiger counters , and one CDV counter — 830am central time , 12/14/2013 , 1/4 inch from source.
Results :
2nd count :
76.9 CPM (769 total) over the course of 10 minutes on one counter … 74.2 CPM (742 total) on the second counter.
Alert level is normally at 100CPM (1000 total).
Thus we are reaching higher and higher compared to 2011 and 2012 levels… Normal “background” count returns approximaely 20-40CPM level.

One student critically injured in Colorado school shooting, gunman dead

A student opened fire at a high school in Centennial, Colorado, critically injuring a classmate before apparently taking his own life. The school is located down the road from the Aurora movie theater where a gunman went on a shooting spree in 2012.
The victim of Friday’s shooting is a 15-year-old girl, who remains in hospital after surgery. Another female student was thought to be injured as well, but was actually spattered with the victim’s blood.
The shooting was reportedly triggered by a grudge towards a member of staff over a demotion in a debate team.
The Denver Post reported that a shooting had occurred at Arapahoe High School around 1:00 p.m. local time. One hour later, it was announced during a press briefing on the scene that the suspect had been found dead inside the school, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities reported evidence of two Molotov cocktail at the scene. Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson told reporters that investigators were working on examining the device, and had found remnants of the two devices, one of which was apparently detonated. They believe that the gunman came armed with a shotgun.
Students heard multiple shots coming from the cafeteria around lunchtime, Post reporter Ryan Parker tweeted from outside the school, just moments after the incident unfolded.

Government Study Uses Off-Duty Police to Collect Blood, Saliva Samples at Checkpoints

Drivers were randomly stopped yesterday at a police roadblock in Fort Worth, Texas, herded into a parking lot and asked to take DNA tests — to give blood samples, have their cheeks swabbed, and take Breathalyzer tests.
According to the local Dallas Forth Worth NBC affiliate, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration set the whole thing up with government contractors who used off-duty Forth Worth Police Officers to help facilitate an $8 million government research study “aimed at determining the number of drunken or drug-impaired drivers”.
Although the set up was supposedly voluntary and anonymous, people who were driving on that Fort Worth road told NBC it didn’t feel voluntary at all.
“It just doesn’t seem right that you can be forced off the road when you’re not doing anything wrong,” said Kim Cope, who said she was on her lunch break when she was forced to pull over at the roadblock on Beach Street in North Fort Worth.

“I gestured to the guy in front that I just wanted to go straight, but he wouldn’t let me and forced me into a parking spot,” she said.
Once parked, she couldn’t believe what she was asked next. “They were asking for cheek swabs,” she said. “They would give $10 for that. Also, if you let them take your blood, they would pay you $50 for that.” At the very least, she said, they wanted to test her breath for alcohol.
She said she felt trapped. “I finally did the Breathalyzer test just because I thought that would be the easiest way to leave,” she said, adding she received no money.
This government “study” will take place over the next three years in 30 U.S. cities across the nation.
