Fukushima: Debris Island the Size of Texas Heading to the US Coast

Experts at NOAA are becoming increasingly concerned not just about the debris from Fukushima that is arriving on our shores, but with the non-native bugs, germs and even sea life that is arriving with it.
“At first we were only thinking about objects like the floating docks, but now we’re finding that all kinds of Japanese organisms are growing on the debris,” John Chapman of the Marine Science Center at Oregon State University told Fox News.
“We’ve found over 165 non-native species so far,” he continued.”One type of insect, and almost all the others are marine organisms … we found the European blue mussel, which was introduced to Asia long ago, and then it grew on a lot of these things that are coming across the Pacific … we’d never seen it here, and we don’t particularly want it here.” (source)
Guam faced the same problem with brown tree snakes that were inadvertently taken to the island on an American ship some 60 years ago. Dead mice laced with acetaminophen were dropped onto the island in an attempt to wipe out the infestation. You can read more here.
Scientists are concerned that non-native species will alter the ecosystem and reduce or wipe out some native species. As big a worry would be viruses and germs getting into the United States that have not been a problem here before.
Although they are playing down the risk of radioactive contamination, it’s logical to assume that some of the debris is contaminated. The days of beachcombing for washed up treasure is sadly gone. Anything washed up along the California coast should be treated with suspicion and reported to the appropriate authorities so that it can be removed.

Active Shooter Reported At New Jersey Mall

Update: It’s now being reported that the gunman, Richard Shoop, 20, was found dead behind the mall from a self-inflicted gunshot. Luckily there have been no other injuries or fatalities. (Source)
The Garden State Plaza Mall located in Paramus, New Jersey is the scene of an ongoing active shooter situation that is believed to have begun around 9:20 pm local time. The shooting occurred near closing time and police and SWAT are now on the scene. The 2 million sq. ft. mall has been put under full lockdown.
Witnesses have conflicting reports about how many shots were fired, but it seems that at least three shots were fired and as many as nine, described as “booms.” One eyewitness reported seeing a man in black, perhaps with body armor and a motorcycle helmet who was shooting at security cameras. This description was corroborated by a second witness, but the second witness also reported seeing the shooter speaking with other individuals before “suiting up” and firing. The second witness also described shots from a semi-automatic rifle, as well as the booms from a shotgun.
So far no injuries are being reported, but the shooter(s) is(are) believed to still be in the mall. We will keep you updated as this situation develops. In the meantime, the latest information can be found at Twitter: #gardenstateplazamall.

Regional War Scenario. NATO-US-Turkey War Games Off the Syrian Coastline

According to Turkish press reports, Turkey’s High Command will be hosting NATO’S Invitex military exercise in the Eastern Mediterranean in a clear act of provocation directed against Syria.
The Invitex-Eastern Mediterranean war games are scheduled from November 4 to 14.
Deafening silence. Not a single Western media has reported on these war games.
The official release by the TKS High Command suggests a war games scenario involving a regional war, under the assumption that the ongoing US-NATO-Israeli covert war on Syria could lead to military escalation. The countries considered to be a threat to Turkey and NATO are not mentioned.
According to the press dispatch of the Turkish Armed forces, various types of naval operations are envisaged. While the word “war” is not mentioned, the stated objective consists in the “handling of a regional crisis”, presumably through military rather than diplomatic means.

The focus is intended “to enhance co-operation and mutual training between participant countries.” Reading between the lines this suggests enhanced military coordination directed against potential enemy countries in the Middle East including Syria and Iran.
“NATO, the U.S. Navy and the Turkish Navy-Air Force-Coast Guard platforms will participate in the exercise, a statement from Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) said Nov. 4.”(Hurriyet Daily News, Turkey)
A significant deployment of both naval and air power is envisaged. According to the TKS communique, the participant units are:
NATO SNMG-2 (three frigates), U.S. Navy (one frigate), Turkish Navy (three frigates, two corvettes, four fast attack boats, three submarines, two oilers, two patrol boats, one landing ship, one tug boat, one maritime patrol aircraft, five helicopters, one amphibious team, one Naval WMD Destroy Team, (Multi National Maritime Security Center of Excellence), Turkish Coast Guard (three Coast Guard Boats) and Turkish Air Force aircrafts. Now that everybody knows (cough, cough) the LAX shooter was “anti-government,” it follows as night from day that a) he must have developed his political views from conspiracy websites and b) those sites are culpable…right?
Is JD Salinger dead enough yet? Can we prosecute his corpse because Mark David Chapman read his dreary novel, Catcher in the Rye, and then killed John Lennon?
How about all those young men who found “the good pages” in an embargoed copy of Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer and then left home and family, or the later generation of boys who imbibed Jack Kerouac’s On the Road and joined The Beat Generation? Surely some able lawyer can mount a class-action suit against the estates of those two dead authors.
Any day now, I’m expecting the White House to announce the formation of a new cabinet post: the Inflammatory Rhetoric Department.
Hiring: analysts, evaluation experts, and SWAT teams trained for home and workplace invasions.
“What are you contemplating, Mr. Smith? Where did you get your information?”
Mass communication psychologists (aka psyop specialists) are working overtime to forge connections between accused criminals and their prior “influences.”
No longer is it enough to say, “The criminal made his own choices. He did what he did. He’s responsible.”
That went out when the State began taking psychiatrists’ testimony in court seriously.
