That the warmongers are so desperate to frame Iran for any and every attack taking place in the world is worrying, to be sure, but at the end of the day, perhaps there is something hopeful we can take away from this. The fact that the Patrick Clawsons and Gary Harts and Dick Cheneys of the world are dreaming up their provocations and incidents to justify an invasion of Iran means that, at the very least, some measure of justification is still needed to embroil the NATO powers in another war. Once again we find that it is the people who hold the power, and it is the people who must be convinced about the need for this war. Here in 2012, now 9 years after the debacle in Iraq and 1 year after the debacle in Libya, are going to need more convincing than ever that it is necessary to deploy the war machine yet again for another round of military adventurism. And now that the mainstream media has expended whatever was left of their credibility pimping the “weapons of mass destruction” propaganda, the so-called political elite realize that nothing less than a spectacular provocation will do to rouse the public’s ire.

You REALLY should watch this. Max Igan and Ken O’Keefe’s provide analysis of Israel lobbyist Patrick Clawson’s suggestion that the U.S. use a false flag event as a means of initiating conflict with Iran. (Warning: O’Keefe swears on numerous occasions; he’s very passionate about preventing WWIII.)

Max Igan: “The thing that really blows me away is that they are just telling us about it – so blatantly. Look folks, the only way it is going to stop is if we do something about it. We have to pay attention to what’s going on. We’ve got to pay attention to what is being said to us. People just aren’t paying attention to what’s happening in the world.”

Plans to invade Iran have been in place since at least 2001 (see “Within Weeks After 9/11, Gen Wesley Clark Was Shown US Plan To Invade Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Lybia, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran“).

Moreover, a 2009 report published by the the Brookings Institute,titled “Which Path to Persia?”, details plans for the U.S. and Israel to dupe the world into an unnecessary war. The Brookings report states that the intention of US-Israeli policy toward Iran is to provoke a war they know Iran would neither want, nor benefit from. The goal is to create such a provocation without the world recognizing that it was indeed the West triggering hostilities:

“…it would be far more preferable if the United States could cite an Iranian provocation as justification for the airstrikes before launching them. Clearly, the more outrageous, the more deadly, and the more unprovoked the Iranian action, the better off the United States would be. Of course, it would be very difficult for the United States to goad Iran into such a provocation without the rest of the world recognizing this game, which would then undermine it. (One method that would have some possibility of success would be to ratchet up covert regime change efforts in the hope that Tehran would retaliate overtly, or even semi-overtly, which could then be portrayed as an unprovoked act of Iranian aggression.) ”
