Exclusive: The first Western journalist to enter the town that felt Assad’s fury hears witness accounts of Syria’s bloodiest episode

The massacre town of Daraya is a place of ghosts and questions. It echoed with the roar of mortar explosions and the crackle of gunfire yesterday, its few returning citizens talking of death, assault, foreign “terrorists”, and its cemetery of slaughter haunted by snipers.
The men and women to whom we could talk, two of whom had lost loved ones on Daraya’s day of infamy four days ago, told a story different from the version that has been repeated around the world: theirs was a tale of hostage-taking by the Free Syria Army and desperate prisoner-exchange negotiations between the armed opponents of the regime and the Syrian army, before President Bashar al-Assad’s government forces stormed into the town to seize it back from rebel control.
Officially, no word of such talks between the enemies has been mentioned. But senior Syrian officers told The Independent how they had “exhausted all possibilities of reconciliation” with those holding the town, while residents of Daraya said there had been an attempt by both sides to arrange a swap of civilians and off-duty soldiers – apparently kidnapped by rebels because of their family ties to the government army – with prisoners in the army’s custody. When these talks broke down, the army advanced into Daraya, six miles from the centre of Damascus.
Being the first Western eyewitness into the town yesterday was as frustrating as it was dangerous. The bodies of men, women and children had been moved from the cemetery where many of them were found; and when we arrived in the company of Syrian troops at the Sunni Muslim graveyard – divided by the main road through Daraya – snipers opened fire at the soldiers, hitting the back of the ancient armoured vehicle in which we made our escape. Yet we could talk to civilians out of earshot of Syrian officials – in two cases in the security of their own homes – and their narrative of last Saturday’s mass killing of at least 245 men, women and children suggested that the atrocities were far more widespread than supposed.
One woman, who gave her name as Leena, said she was travelling through the town in a car and saw at least 10 male bodies lying on the road near her home. “We carried on driving past, we did not dare to stop, we just saw these bodies in the street,” she said, adding that Syrian troops had not yet entered Daraya.
Another man said that, although he had not seen the dead in the graveyard, he believed that most were related to the government army and included several off-duty conscripts. “One of the dead was a postman – they included him because he was a government worker,” the man said. If these stories are true, then the armed men – wearing hoods, according to another woman who described how they broke into her home and how she kissed them in a fearful attempt to prevent them shooting her own family – were armed insurgents rather than Syrian troops.
The home of Amer Sheikh Rajab, a forklift truck driver, had been taken over, he said, by gunmen as a base for “Free Army” forces, the phrase the civilians used for the rebels. They had smashed the family crockery and burned carpets and beds – the family showed this destruction to us – but had also torn out the internal computer chip parts of laptops and television sets in the house. To use as working parts for bombs, perhaps?
On a road on the edge of Daraya, Khaled Yahya Zukari, a lorry driver, had been leaving the town on Saturday in a mini-bus with his 34-year-old wife Musreen and their seven-month-old daughter.
“We were on our way to [the neighbouring suburb of] Senaya when suddenly there was a lot of shooting at us,” he said. “I told my wife to lie on the floor but a bullet came into the bus and passed right through our baby and hit my wife. It was the same bullet. They were both dead. The shooting came from trees, from a green area. Maybe it was the militants hiding behind the soil and trees who thought we were a military bus bringing soldiers.”
Any widespread investigation of a tragedy on this scale and in these circumstances was virtually impossible yesterday. At times, in the company of armed Syrian forces, we had to run along empty streets with anti-government snipers at the intersections; many families had barricaded themselves in their homes.
Even before we set out for Daraya from the large military airbase in Damascus – which contains both Russian-made Hind attack-helicopters and T-72 tanks – a mortar round, possibly fired from Daraya itself, smashed into the runway scarcely 300 metres from us, sending a column of black smoke towering into the sky. Although Syrian troops nonchalantly continued to take their open-air showers, I began to feel some sympathy for the UN ceasefire monitors who departed Syria last week.
Perhaps the saddest account of all yesterday came from 27-year-old Hamdi Khreitem, who sat in his family home with his brother and sister, and told us of how his parents, Selim and Aisha, had set out to buy bread on Saturday. “We had already seen the pictures on the television of the massacre – the Western channels said it was the Syrian army, the state television said it was the “Free Army” – but we were short of food and Mum and Dad drove into the town. Then we got a call from their mobile and it was my Mum who just said: ‘We are dead.’ She was not.
“She was wounded in the chest and arm. My Dad was dead but I don’t know where he was hit or who killed him. We took him from the hospital, covered up and we buried him yesterday.”

FUKUS Using Chemical Weapons as an Excuse to Invade Syria

For any of you who do not know who FUKUS are, it is the acronym for France, United Kingdom and United States, who are looking for an excuse to invade Syria and start a world war. Obama and Cameron are replacing Bush and Blair who used the “Weapons of Mass Destruction” lie as an excuse to invade Iraq.
Obama and Cameron are using Hillary Clinton and William Hague as their mouthpieces of hate and warmongering. Their lies against Syria and paying the butchers with taxpayers money.
As the world now knows that there is no evidence of Bashar Al Assad doing any killing of his own people except the terrorists. I is now a well known fact that it is the FSA that is doing the butchering, kidnapping and raping and we have plenty of evidence of this, as they film themselves doing it, hoping to blame it on the government. This lie does not wash anymore.
Only yesterday DW television in Germany were saying that all the mainstream media get their stories from the FSA which is biased. Channel 4 TV admitted that the FSA are killing journalists, because it is good for their cause. The mainstream media is starting to tell the truth after all this time, but FUKUS are still calling for Bashar Al Assad to step down. In the past the FSA have stated that even if the leadership changed they would still carry on fighting.
It is common knowledge now that FUKUS are funding the FSA who are doing all the killing. William Hague bragging on TV how he is going to give 5 million of tax payers money to fund these butchers, who on the very next day, shot an innocent man more than 20 times, threw all the post office workers off the roof of the building where they worked and hung children.
The UK and France are just jumping when the US tell them to, with Hillary Clinton travelling the world and threatening countries, who do not do what the US want them to. She threatened trade sanctions against India if they didn’t stop buying oil from Iran and recently a British Bank was fined for doing business with Iran.
We also saw this back before 9/11 when George Bush was threatening John Howard over Taiwan. Bush was wanting Howard to sign up that Australia would take the US side if they went to war with China over Taiwan. Most of Australia were against this, but when Bush threatened to pull out of ANZUS if he did not sign up, John Howard went to the US to sign. Then 9/11 happened and the planned war over Taiwan did not happen, but Bush managed to create a war in Iraq instead, based on a lie.
I do believe that FUKUS is so stupid following this weapons of mass destruction story again. More and more countries are taking the Russia and China peaceful solution to end this war, but it is FUKUS who are doing the fighting and refuse to stop.
With the help of Turkey FSA are being trained in Turkey under instruction of the USA. In Jordan there are more FSA training camps and in Kosovo the UN K4 are training Libyans to go and fight with the FSA in Syria. What give the UN the right to be training these terrorists? Did they vote on this? The US think they can just pretend it is the Kosovo KLA doing the training and pass the buck, but they have nothing to do with it. This is a carefully planned UN training camp for terrorists and trained by UN soldiers.

Why is it that every country in the world has weapons to protect themselves in time of war, but FUKUS think this does not apply to Syria. Just 2 days ago a top US Military Officer General Martin Dempsey was in Iraq trying to sell military weapons to the Prime Minister. The U.S. security assistance programs include the sale of 12 billion dollars’ worth of weapons to Iraq during 2012 alone, including tanks, armoured personnel carriers, and heavy artillery. Future U.S. sales include F-16 fighter jets to be delivered from September 2014.
What hypocrisy is this? The US are allowed to sell weapons to Iraq, but Russia is not allowed to sell weapons to Syria.
Chemical weapons ‘excuse for US to intervene in Syria’
Everything has now failed, in Obama’s plan to take over Syria, so now we are down to the last stage, the threat to invade. An invasion which will start a world war. The Chinese are not fooled by this claim. Today the BBC has stated that “Once again, Western powers are digging deep for excuses to intervene militarily.” These threats by Obama have now spread all around the world. Any little excuse he can now find to invade Syria he will find it. Even if he cannot find an excuse, he will make one up, which will probably involve him killing more innocent people and blaming it on Syria. How do the USA produce so many warmongers? Has it got something to do with their gun laws, torture or capital punishment. Compared with the rest of the world, the Americans are still living in medieval times or war, war, war.
Who does he think he is? Look at the following page which shows the known chemical weapons in the world. When it comes to signing treaties to cut down on chemical weapons the US are not included in this. They expect all their enemies to have no weapons, be it nuclear or chemical, but the US and Israel seem to be immune to this rule.

You will notice that it is the USA who have the most biological weapons, followed by Russia. Do we need to be reminded, that in history it was the USA who were the only country to use nuclear weapons on another country and they were the only country to use chemical weapons in Vietnam, using Agent Orange manufactured in the US for the Department of Defence by Monsanto and Dow Chemical. Monsanto the same company who are trying to get the world to grow their genetically modified food.

In 1965, members of the U.S. Congress were told “crop destruction is understood to be the more important purpose … but the emphasis is usually given to the jungle defoliation in public mention of the program.”Soldiers were told they were destroying crops because they were going to be used to feed guerrillas. They later discovered nearly all of the food they had been destroying was not being produced for guerrillas; it was, in reality, only being grown to support the local civilian population. For example, in Quang Ngai province, 85% of the crop lands were scheduled to be destroyed in 1970 alone. Widespread famine occurred as a result, leaving hundreds of thousands of people malnourished or starving.
The Vietnam Red Cross reported as many as 3 million Vietnamese people have been affected by Agent Orange, including at least 150,000 children born with birth defects. According to Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 4.8 million Vietnamese people were exposed to Agent Orange, resulting in 400,000 people being killed or maimed, and 500,000 children born with birth defects. Women had higher rates of miscarriage and stillbirths, as did livestock such as cattle, water buffalo, and pigs.

We have seen in the past month, that included in the weapons that have been seized the Syrian Army, from the Free Syrian Army have been American made gas masks.
The London Telegraph reported in its article, “Libya’s new rulers offer weapons to Syrian rebels:”
“There is something being planned to send weapons and even Libyan fighters to Syria,” said a Libyan source, speaking on condition of anonymity. “There is a military intervention on the way. Within a few weeks you will see.”
The Telegraph has also learned that preliminary discussions about arms supplies took place when members of the Syrian National Council [SNC] – the country’s main opposition movement – visited Libya earlier this month.
Clearly Libyan terrorists and their weapons have made it into Syria with the explicit backing of NATO’s recently installed client Libyan regime.
The London Guardian had reported that Libya possessed some “25 metric tonnes of bulk mustard agent and 1,400 metric tonnes of precursor chemical used to make chemical weapons.” The Guardian also reported:
The abandonment or disappearance of some Gaddafi-era weapons has prompted concerns that such firepower could erode regional security if it falls into the hands of Islamist militants or rebels active in north Africa.

Israel is widely believed to possess weapons of mass destruction, and to be one of four nuclear-armed countries not recognised as a Nuclear Weapons State by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The US CongressOffice of Technology Assessment has recorded Israel as a country generally reported as having undeclared chemical warfare capabilities, and an offensive biological warfare program. Officially Israel neither confirms nor denies possessing nuclear weapons.
All the countries that have weapons on mass destruction, but the USA are threatening to invade Syria, because Bashar Al Assad said he would only use his to protect his country.
Well isn’t that exactly what all those countries would do, or why would they have these weapons in the first place.
The Danger is that the USA is the only country willing to use their weapons of mass destruction NOT to defend but to attack another country. This time it will affect the whole world and start a World War. The Cold War is alive and kicking and it will be which countries are going to follow the USA into World War 3.
Russia and China are trying to prevent this happening, by demanding peaceful negotiations, but the FUKUS group are continuing to arm Al Qaeda and the FSA and now threatening invasion.
This is now history unfolding and all the evidence is now in writing that FUKUS will stop at nothing to start this war.

“Relatives of some of the people killed in the Colorado movie theater shootings plan to speak publicly Tuesday about unspecified events that they say need to be addressed.
They have scheduled a news conference to discuss behind-the-scenes developments and will “speak with one voice” for the benefit of all the victims, they said in a news release.”
“The release did not elaborate on the events they plan to discuss. Anita Busch, a spokeswoman for the group, declined to comment on the topics.
Busch said she expects the families of most of the 12 people killed in the shootings to be represented.”

British Paper Claims Western Troops are in Syria
August 26, 2012 – The British Daily Star has reported in their article, “SAS HUNT BIO ARMS,” that, “nearly 200 elite SAS and SBS troops are in or around Syria hunting for Assad’s weapons of mass destruction.” The Star also claims that the SAS are accompanied by British MI6, US CIA, and both French and American soldiers. This after US’ Barack Obama made comments claiming the US would military intervene if Syria so much as “moves them [unconfirmed WMDs] in a threatening fashion.”Like Iraq, the West has provided no evidence that such weapons even exist, let alone prove that the weapons have or even would be used against terrorists operating across Syria. And like in Iraq, another false pretext is being developed through leaks, and limited hangouts in an attempt to prime the public for a desperate intervention designed to bolster the West’s collapsing terrorist front.
The West also categorically lacks any semblance of an international mandate to act militarily within Syria – meaning that if SAS soldiers are in Syria, they are in egregious violation of international law.

US, British, French, and Gulf State-backed Al Qaeda militants have been attempting to infiltrate and violently overthrow the government of Syria, as well as terrorize the population into submission in a brutal, year and half long terror campaign. In July and August, NATO-backed terrorists attempted to seize Syria’s two largest cities, Aleppo and Damascus only to be dealt severe losses and a rebound of Syrian forces enjoying increasing public support for ending the violence.
The Syrian conflict was engineered by Western interests as early as 2007.

Anders Breivik declared sane, sentenced to at least 21 years in jail

Anders Behring Breivik has been found to be of sound mind and judgment and found guilty by a Norwegian court today. He has been sentenced to at least 21 years in prison.
Breivik has previously stated that a ruling pronouncing him sane would validate his crime as a political act.
He has been sentenced to at least 21 years in prison by a unanimous decision of the five-judge panel. After the original sentence has been served the court will reconsider whether he is still a danger to society at regular intervals.
Twenty-one years is the maximum sentence available to Norwegian courts.
Breivik, who had personally wanted a guilty verdict, portrayed himself during the trial as an anti-Muslim militant, claiming “armed revolution” was the only stop Norway from being systematically Islamized. He looked pleased as Judge Wenche Elisabeth Arntzen declared him sufficiently sane to be held criminally responsible.
The court’s reading of the verdict included details of Breivik’s preparations for Norway’s worst mass killings since World War II.
The judges repeated the particulars of the crime as Breivik had described it to them during the trial, how the fertilizer bomb that Breivik detonated was made, and how police confirmed that the bomb had been manufactured exactly as Breivik had explained.
Breivik had trained extensively for his killing spree. He had taken backpacks filled with stones on hiking trips to practice his shooting skills, as well as played computer games such as World of Warcraft and Modern Warfare II for the same purpose.
He also claimed that he had practiced a Japanese meditation technique designed to “de-emotionalize” himself during the shooting.
Police had taken blood and hair samples from him after the arrest showing that he had also been under the influence of a CNS stimulant.
Breivik gave a clenched fist salute at several hearings. According to Breivik’s manifesto, the clenched fist salute is the salute of knights Templar, symbolizing “strength, honor and defiance”.
Breivik made a video in 2010 entitled “Templar Knights 2083”, which he claimed was a shortened version of the manifesto.
“One of the most widespread manifestations of the craziness of our world is multiculturalism,” Breivik wrote in his rambling 1,500 page manifesto.
Elsewhere, he mentioned the “ghettofication” process happening across Europe, where immigrants are allegedly failing to assimilate into their host nations’ cultures.

Breivik pleaded guilty to killing 77 people in June 2011, first detonating a bomb in Oslo which left eight people dead, then on the same day killing 69 more – mostly teenagers – after going on a shooting spree at a Labour Party youth camp on Utoya Island.
Breivik claims he was protecting Norway against Islam and multiculturalism, which he accused the ruling Labour Party of promoting, and had promised to fight an “insanity” verdict that would deprive his act of political significance, calling psychiatric incarceration a “fate worse than death.”
“I think we all can agree that on July 22, a barbaric thing happened,” Breivik said while delivering a somewhat muddled closing statement in June.
“I carried out a small barbarism to stop a greater barbarism,” he said, referring to his view that Norway’s immigration policies had created a “demographic war” against non-Muslims, in which he felt obligated to defend himself.
Breivik’s lawyer Geir Lippestad had previously argued that to find Breivik insane would be a violation of his human rights, as it would deny him his role in carrying out “a political project.”
“If we look at the basic human rights and take into account that the defendant has a political project – to see his actions as an expression of illness is to take away a basic human right, the right to take responsibility for one’s own actions,” Lippestad insisted as the 10-week trial wrapped up in June.
The maximum 21-year sentence for Breivik could be extended if he is deemed a danger to society.
Breivik’s jail cell has been the subject of controversy. On the chance that Breivik was found not guilty by reason of insanity, Breivik would have been the sole patient of a psychiatric ward that cost 130,000 and 260,000 euro, built especially for him. According to Associated Press reports, 17 people would have been on staff to treat him.
As it is, Breivik currently occupies a three-room jail cell, equipped with a computer and treadmill, having access to a games room, television, newspapers and daily outdoor strolls. It is likely that he will now return to this cell.
Analysts had been conflicted on Breivik’s mental status. Initially, forensic psychiatrists Torgeir Husby and Synne Sørheim concluded that Breivik was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, in a report issued last December.
Following a massive wave of criticism from legal and psychiatric experts, the court decided to appoint two new psychiatrists, who in April found that Breivik was legally of sound mind.
