You Think GMO Is Scary? Nano Tech is Here, In Your Store

By Anne Gordon, RN

Nanotechnology is measured in billionths of a meter, encompassing all aspects of life from food to medicine, clothing, to space. Imagine hundreds of microcomputers on the width of a strand of hair programmed for specific tasks….in your body. Sound good?

Engineering at a molecular level may be a future corporations’ dream come true, however, nano-particles inside your body have few long-term studies especially when linked to health issues. Despite this new huge income-generating field there is a growing body of toxicological information suggesting that nanotechnology when consumed can cause brain damage (as shown in largemouth bass), and therefore should undergo a full safety assessment.

It is possible for nano-particles to slip through the skin, suggestive of a potential unnatural interaction with the immune system, or when micro particles enter the blood-stream. Some sunscreens on the shelf today, for instance, have nano-particles that might be able to penetrate the skin, move between organs, with unknown health effects. Nano-particles in cosmetics have few regulations done by FDA.

Thomas Faunce, of the Australian National University, who holds an Australian Research Council fellowship that looks at public nanotechnology health issues, said study’s findings are significant and strengthens the case for mandatory labeling, and that stringent safety data should be required from manufacturers.” Research is showing that nano-particles have the capacity to damage living cells and the precautionary principle should be applied,” he said.

In 2005, The Helmut Kaiser Consultancy Group, global leaders in pro-nanotechnology, stated that about 300 nano-food products were available on the market worldwide estimating that market alone was worth 5.4 billion dollars in the USA. That was then.

By 2015, (just a few years away) they predict that nanotechnology will be used in 40% of the food industries. According to these consultants, by 2040, nano-produced food, with correct nutritional composition, maintaining the same taste and texture of organically produced food, will be commonplace, the norm.

It is clear that nanotechnology is already in some food and cosmetics, (including anti aging products and sunscreens).  ‘Smart’ packaging and tracking, is ubiquitous. Invisible, (to the naked eye and some microscopes), edible nano-wrappers, complete with bar codes can track not only early spoilage, but improve the taste of food, or, whatever is called food.  Manufacturers are excited because the availability of food would no longer be affected by limited resources, bad crop weather, water problems, etc.  A modern way to feed the world.

Oh, don’t expect an informative label on nano-particles in your products. Although marketers are thrilled to present benefits to make wrinkles vanish, or illuminate skin flawlessly, there are health and unknown downsides.

Where is the public debate, on the labeling of nano particles in your foods, or cosmetics, or the risks? Probably no where…Political leaders are still arguing on requiring GMO (genetically modified) labeling, it seems.

When lab rats are starved, and given a choice to eat organic potatoes or GMO, they go right to the organic. When only given the GMO potato they will eat it, or starve to death… (studies have shown severe damage subsequently). What do rats know?

So the next time you reach for something that say’s ‘smart’…think about what that means. Learn what you can about the source of what you put in, or on your body. Smart mini micro computers to control your skin and body fluids?

Saturday 7th July MELBOURNE CHEMWEBS

Published on Jul 7, 2012 by

CHEMWEBS GALORE FALLING FROM THE SKY!!!!!!! If you don’t believe in chemtrails then perhaps this video might change your mind!! If not then I guess you can pretend that this video is ‘just spider webs’. This is the 5th CHEMWEB event I have observed over the past 2 months. This is not a one off event, and If you don’t believe me then look for yourself next time. Oh and when will that be? Glad you asked, the next CHEMWEB fall WILL occur with the next High pressure system which brings clear skys, and very little wind. These are the optimum conditions to observe it. Direct sunlight is required to catch sight of the webs, they visibly vanish if the sun goes behind a cloud. Windless conditions enable the webs to waft downwards in a visible manner as opposed to rushing past in the air. Don’t take my word for it OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE!!

[Potent News editor’s note:  I highly recommend using caution if handling these “chemwebs”.  I wouldn’t even touch this with my bare hands.  If you want to know more about these chemwebs, check out the Morgellons section here at Potent News.  The largest conference on chemtrails is being held on August 17-19, 2012 and all net proceeds are going towards honest Morgellons research.]

Up to 20,000 Genetically Engineered Mosquitoes Released in Australian Towns

By Mike Barrett

mosquitoblackbackground 235x147 Up to 20,000 Genetically Engineered Mosquitoes Released in Australian TownsDo you remember how some scientists, researchers, and individuals like Bill Gates were trying to release genetically modified mosquitoes into the environment?

Well, that endeavor isn’t quite over.

Two towns in Northern Australia have recently been gifted with 10-20 thousand genetically engineered mosquitoes – almost completely replacing mosquitoes naturally occurring in the outdoors.

Different Genetically Engineered Mosquitoes?

Although the mosquitoes released are still GM, they aren’t exactly the same as the more well-known mosquitoes developed my Oxitec. Oxitec is a British company responsible for the creation of the genetically engineered mosquitoes containing a gene designed to kill themselves unless given an antibiotic known as tetracycline.

The company created this internally manipulated insect to help control agricultural pests and reduce insect-borne diseases like dengue fever and malaria.

These new mosquitoes released in Australia, however, are developed with a slightly different strategy. A bacterium named Wolbackiapipientis infects numerous insects species, and harnesses the ability to alter it’s hosts reproductive ability.

When this happens, entire populations become infected within generations, and when the bacterium infects mosquitoes, the mosquitoes’ ability to pass on the dengue virus vanishes.

Needless to say, numerous scientists, researchers, and many individuals have expressed concern regarding the release of genetically engineered mosquitoes.

The first mosquito release by Oxitec took place in the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean in 2009, only for a second trial to occur in 2010, where 6,000 mosquitoes were released in Malaysia for further experiments.

Now, 10-20 thousand mosquitoes were released in Australia, drilling the environment with even more genetically modified creations. As mentioned, many people are not happy about this.

Some individuals, such as Daniel Strickman, point out the obvious discomfort surrounding the possibility that the bacterium could become out of control once released – in a way that does not naturally occur in nature.

In addition, mosquitoes less susceptible to dengue infection could in turn become more susceptible to other viruses.

Unfortunately, no peer-reviewed scientific proof of the safety of such biotechnologies can be offered. Long-term effects have not been at all measured, and once these insects are released, they can not be recalled.

Here are but a few of the questions and issues regarding GM mosquitoes (or any GM insect for that matter).

  • Will Oxitec need to acquire the free and informed consent of residents in Key West for the release of the GM mosquitoes? With the previous release of the mosquitoes in the Cayman Islands there was no public consultation taken on potential risks and informed consent was not given from locals.
  • What could happen to the ecosystem and local food chain with the major decrease in the Aedes aegypti mosquito population?
  • Tetracycline, the antibiotic Oxitec’s genetically engineered mosquitoes are supposed to have no contact with, is showing up in the environment. With tetracycline being present in the wild, these GE mosquitoes would survive and thrive.
  • Mosquitoes can develop resistance to the lethal gene inputted by Oxitec. In fact, 3.5 percent of the insects survived to adulthood in laboratory tests despite carrying the lethal gene, according to Todd Shelly, an entomologist for the Agriculture Department in Hawaii.
  • 0.5 percent of the released insects are female (the gender which bites humans); what happens to humans if bitten by the female mosquitoes?
  • Who regulates releases, and who will be responsible in the event of complications – to any degree?

The truth is that we have no idea what the future holds for genetic modification and the potential impacts it has on the environment and public health.

We know that the genetically engineered mosquitoes are equipped with a lethal gene designed to lower the mosquito population, but what does that really mean for humans?

We simply do not know the potential outcomes that could arise from such creations.

Morgellons assembled by Darpa? Living Foundries and BioCreations.

by Kathryn A. Augustyn
Morgellons Research Group
June 2, 2012

MRG researchers are finding more and more links to DARPA Creations.  After all, we are running full circle.  DARPA created the internet, had one of the “best and brightest” in their fold, and now she is going to Google.  Any connection?   There just might be. The computer will run this operation.    But, first “living foundries” are in the works.  Of course, one would have to have the foundation of this new super blueprint templated.   So, foundries with the tools to create whatever product is patterned will be produced.   So, when we see the patterns and the flow from start to finish of the creation  “new genetic products”, with an inventory of parts, then we begin to see the “work in progress”.  These are old terms used to create useful, functional products for human consumption and use, now have crossed the boundary of human as template.   Morgellons fits nicely in here.   So, the artifacts are what was left after the creation, experimentation and modeling.   The following report says this is new, but, since this technology is way ahead of civilian reality, it is new to civilians, but, certainly is not for the the Creators.

DARPA: “On-Demand Production” of Genetically Engineered Bio-Products

By Madison Ruppert

May 23, 2012

The Defense Advanced Projects Research Agency (DARPA) – often described as the mad scientist research arm of the Pentagon due to their fantastical projects like weaponized hallucinations, dirt cheap miniature spy computers, increasingly lifelike humanoid robots and more – is now in the process of developing a kind of factory for man-made organisms.

Their new program, called “Living Foundries,” was originally announced last year and aims to create a type of assembly line for genetically engineered products – assumedly for military applications since that is what DARPA is all about.

DARPA recently announced eight research awards totaling some $15.5 million in funds as part of this initiative including:

$3.6 million to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

$691,559 to the University of Texas at Austin

$2.1 million to California Institute of Technology

$1 million to the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution

$3 million to J. Craig Venter Institute, Inc. (JCVI)

$964,587 to J. Craig Venter Institute, Inc. (two separate awards)

$907,269 to the President and Fellows of Harvard College

$3,195,958 to the Leland Stanford Junior University

The two awards to JCVI shouldn’t be all too surprising given that Dr. Venter is well known as one of the first scientists to sequence a human genome. Furthermore, his lab was the first to develop an entirely synthetic organism in 2010.

The goal of the Living Foundries program is to radically transform the currently slow and expensive process of genetic engineering into a standardized and streamlined factory-like process.

“Interactions between neurons and light”….   One can see where this is going!   Are we ready? Can this be stopped?

An article describes this:  involving research on Autism: Engineered neuroligins and neurexins!

Molecular mechanisms: Researchers light up interactions between neurons

Jessica Wright

30 November 2010

Pretty picture: Engineered neuroligins (green) and neurexins (blue) bind at the sites of communication (red) between neurons.

Researchers have developed a technique to detect interactions in live neurons between neuroligins and neurexins — two proteins known to bind at the junction between neurons, according to a study published 29 October in Cell.

Neurons relay information across the brain by releasing molecules, called neurotransmitters, across synapses, the junctions between neurons. Neurexins and neuroligins, which jut out of the transmitting and receiving ends of neurons, respectively, bind to each other on neighboring cells, stabilizing an active synapse.

Researchers induced some live neurons, removed from a rat hippocampus, to express an engineered version of neurexin-1 (NRXN1) that can add a small molecule called biotin to another protein. They then induced other neurons to express a modified form of neuroligin-1 (NLGN1) that has a biotin-receiving domain. When the two proteins bind at a synapse, the modified NRXN1 attaches biotin to the modified NLGN1.

Using this clever technique and a fluorescent dye that binds to biotin, the researchers can look at the live interaction between NRXN1 and NLGN1. They can also detect the number of interactions by quantifying the fluorescent signal.

When the neurons release neurotransmitters, the researchers found, the engineered proteins interact more. This suggests that NLGN1-NRXN1 interactions increase in an active synapse.

Using dyes to distinguish interactions before and after activation, the researchers show that neuron activation increases the amount NRXN1 and NLGN1 at the cell surface. They also show that molecules already at the synapse cycle back into the cell less frequently.

Several proteins in these families, including NRXN1 and NLGN4, have been implicated in autism. The researchers use their imaging technique to show that a known mutation of NRXN1 reduces its interaction with NLGN1. The new technique could similarly allow researchers to visualize synapses in mice with autism-associated mutations in NRXN1 and other synaptic proteins.

Keeping up with the latest technology that is finally being relayed to the public, is often disheartening, knowing that this experiment has been done in the open.  This geoengineering is not just the environment, but, every living thing upon it.   All of nature is being revamped, a re genesis, a new creation in the making, despite the loss of life in this venture.   That was the risk involved.  And a planned risk.   The fallout was part of the plan.   Morgellons shows the prototypes and all the adaptations in between.   Only a selected group could be risk free.  The rest pay the consequence and the price.  Morgellons is just that, along with the other adaptations that did not achieve integration.   And if they did achieve integration, they are under specific surveillance.   There will be more coming out on these “truly terrorist” activities by our own “wonderful scientists” who only have those “brightest, fittest, and golden babies” in the works.   We shall survive, despite this onslaught.  We may be crippled, we may be ugly, but, we will not go lightly into that “dark night”.    For we are finding the “dark knights”.

Thank you to all outside researchers who supply us with information that inform us daily of  new technology, who is involved and the purposes of this new technology.    The MRG researchers appreciate all the work you are doing to reveal to the public what is happening in our skies, in our bodies and in the environment.   Full disclosure is what is needed.   We appreciate all of the activists who are bringing the truth to the forefront.  We ask the public to become involved. If you cannot participate in activation events, please donate to MRG.

Human genes engineered into experimental GMO rice being grown in Kansas

by Ethan A. Huff
Natural News
May 2, 2012

(NaturalNews) Unless the rice you buy is certified organic, or comes specifically from a farm that tests its rice crops for genetically modified (GM) traits, you could be eating rice tainted with actual human genes. The only known GMO with inbred human traits in cultivation today, a GM rice product made by biotechnology company Ventria Bioscience is currently being grown on 3,200 acres in Junction City, Kansas — and possibly elsewhere — and most people have no idea about it.

Since about 2006, Ventria has been quietly cultivating rice that has been genetically modified (GM) with genes from the human liver for the purpose of taking the artificial proteins produced by this “Frankenrice” and using them in pharmaceuticals. With approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Ventria has taken one of the most widely cultivated grain crops in the world today, and essentially turned it into a catalyst for producing new drugs.

Originally, the cultivation of this GM rice, which comes in three approved varieties (http://www.aphis.usda.gov/brs/biotech_ea_permits.html), was limited to the laboratory setting. But in 2007, Ventria decided to bring the rice outdoors. The company initially tried to plant the crops in Missouri, but met resistance from Anheuser-Busch and others, which threatened to boycott all rice from the state in the event that Ventria began planting its rice within state borders (http://todayyesterdayandtomorrow.wordpress.com).

So Ventria‘s GM rice eventually ended up in Kansas, where it is presumably still being grown for the purpose of manufacturing drugs on 3,200 acres in Junction City. And while this GM rice with added human traits has never been approved for human consumption, it is now being cultivated in open fields where the potential for unrestrained contamination and spread of its unwanted, dangerous GM traits is virtually a given.

“This is not a product that everyone would want to consume,” said Jane Rissler from the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) to the Washington Post back in 2007. “It is unwise to produce drugs in plants outdoors.”

Though receiving tens of thousands of public comments of opposition, many rightly concerned about the spread of GM traits, the USDA approved open cultivation of Ventria‘s GM rice anyway. This, of course, occurred after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had refused approval for Ventria‘s GM rice back in 2003 (http://www.kansasruralcenter.org/publications/PharmaRice.pdf).

GM ‘pharmaceutical’ rice could cause more disease, suggests report

Besides the threat of contamination and wild spread, Ventria‘s GM rice, which is purportedly being grown to help third-world children overcome chronic diarrhea, may conversely cause other chronic diseases.

“These genetically engineered drugs could exacerbate certain infections, or cause dangerous allergic or immune system reactions,” said Bill Freese, Science Policy Analyst at the Center for Food Safety (CFS), who published a report back in 2007 about the dangers of Ventria‘s GM rice.
