VIDEO — Man may have carried out Volgograd blast, earlier said to be female bomber

At least 16 people were killed in a blast at a railway station in the city of Volgograd, southern Russia. Another 37 were injured, 8 of them more critically, including a girl of 9. The child has been taken to a local hospital. A suicide bomber is suspected to have carried out the attack, says the National Anti-terrorism Committee.

Snow in Cairo for the first time in 112 years — videos included

A picture of the snow-covered pyramids in Egypt, shared by thousands on Twitter and Facebook, has turned out to be another fake.
The photograph seems to show the famous wonders of the world in Giza, near Cairo, blanketed in a crisp layer of snow.
It has been retweeted almost 10,000 times since it was posted yesterday.
Unlike the picture of the Sphinx which went viral on Friday – which was revealed to be a photo of a miniature replica from a Japanese theme park – this is a genuine photograph of the Giza Pyramids.
But the picture is an edited version of a much older picture, which shows the pyramids and outskirts of Cairo without the snowy covering.
Even the edited version dates back to at least a year ago, long before it is claimed the snap was taken.
The buildings seen in the background of the photo are the old city of Cairo.
Snow really did fall on Friday in nearby New Cairo City, but the wintry weather wasn’t enough to cover Egypt’s most famous monuments, the Pyramids or the Sphinx.
Egyptians woke up to a light covering of snow for the first time in more than a century.
Photographs of the freak weather spread quickly online through the weekend – including one of a confused camel lying down in the snow.

But something unusual happened there overnight – it snowed!
According to local reports it’s the first time snow has fallen in the Egyptian capital in 112 years.

Around 500 Terrorists Killed in Fierce Clashes with Syrian Army in Adra Al-Amalieh

“A sum of 480 terrorists of the total 2,000 militants stationed in Adra Al-Amalieh have been killed in heavy clashes with the Syrian army so far,” an informed Syrian military source told FNA.The military source pointed to the determination of the Syrian army to continue its military operations in Adra until a complete mop-up of all terrorists, and said, “The Syrian army troops have managed to achieve considerable success in several fronts in Adra.”On Wednesday, the army units regained control of several buildings in the Eastern side of the Electricity Post of Adra Al-Amalieh after fierce clashes with armed rebels.Meantime, the engineering unit of the army defused several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that the militants had planted inside the buildings.
Syria has been experiencing unrest and deadly battles since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs and terrorists against both the army and the civilians.
Tens of thousands of people have been killed since terrorist and armed groups turned protest rallies into armed clashes.
The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.
