VIDEO — US-Backed Venezuelan Opposition trying to use Ukraine-style Protests to Take Power
RT
Feb 16, 2014
Anchor Mike Walter of CCTV America sits down with Mark Weisbrot to debunk the myths behind the February 2014 Venezuelan protests.
The issue is beyond economic issues. The US-supported opposition are the ones that own almost all the mainstream media in Venezuela and have a choke-hold on the news, but this has not fooled the large numbers of Venezuelans that support the government. These groups have launched a propaganda war.
Despite the Venezuelan government’s democratic mandate, which includes winning most the municipal campaigns in December 2013, the Venezuelan opposition wants to use flash mobs to takeover the country and ouster the government in Caracas. According to state news agency AVN, of the 337 mayors elected in December 2013, the final vote counts awarded 256 mayor positions (76%) to the ruling party or pro-government forces.
The protests in Ukraine are now being replicated in Venezuela with the aim of removing the government outside of the democratic process. Despite failing to win any of the elections in the last few years, the US-supported Venezuelan opposition is now resorting to colour revolution tactics.

Satan Is Targeting The Children To Have No Identity – Turkish Girl
from pressTV:
The French government has put off plans to reform its family policy following fresh demonstrations in the country that oppose last year’s gay marriage legislation.
“The government will not submit a family reform bill before the end of the year,” Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault’s office said on Monday.
The move came just one day after over 100,000 people marched in Paris and the eastern city of Lyon to protest against the government’s new laws that ease abortion restrictions and legalize same-sex marriage.
Demonstrators accused the government of President Francois Hollande of having “family-phobia” and feeling relentless against the family.
They also asked the government to scrap an experimental school program aimed at combating gender stereotypes.
The protestors blamed the government for weakening the traditional family model, based on parents of opposite sex, and pledged to fight any move in favor of same-sex parents.
The protest rally was organized by anti-gay marriage movement “La Manif Pour Tous” (Demonstration for all).
Last week, an anti-government rally, dubbed “Day of Anger,” ended in clashes between police and protesters in Paris.
Thousands of French protesters attended the mass rally on January 26 in order to show their anger at Hollande’s presidency.
Hollande, who took office in May 2012 with pledges of economic and foreign policy reforms, has become the most unpopular French president on record as he has failed to fulfill the promises he made during his election campaign.
A recent poll, conducted by Ipsos-Steria and published by the French newspaper Le Monde, indicated some 85 percent of respondents were convinced that France is currently in a state of pessimism.
Moreover, a survey conducted by French Institute of Public Opinion (IFOP) has indicated that Hollande’s approval rating has dropped to 20 percent.
