France has taken the responsibility for supplying Syrian rebels with money and artillery on behalf of the US, which is not interested in soiling their hands before Novembers presidential elections, professor Engdahl told RT.
The aid reportedly started flowing last Friday, to five local authorities in the so called “liberated zones” located in three provinces — Deir al-Zor, Aleppo and Idlib- according to a diplomatic source cited by Reuters.
These actions will not lead the country out of the conflict, but rather drag it into far more bloodshed, says geopolitical researcher researcher and author of Full Spectrum Dominance, F. William Engdahl.
RT: Why is France getting so involved in Syria — what’s Paris seeking to gain by supporting the rebels?
William Engdahl: I think France is being a very dishonest peace broker in this whole process. And I think they are acting as a cat’s paw, if you will, for the US State Department and Pentagon until after the US elections. Obama does not want to get involved in what will be an extremely messy conflict directly in Syria until after the US voter is over. I think France is playing this hitman role and the idea of giving heavy artillery to these so called buffer zones is the most cynical thing imaginable. It is going to create civil war; it is going to create bloodshed — anything, but peace. So, this is just one of the most dangerous moves of the whole Syria engagement by NATO in the last 18 months.
RT: Will direct French assistance be enough to tip the scales of the Syrian conflict?
WE: Well, I think if you look at what the Muslim Brotherhood is being reported doing since they took the presidency in Egypt, you will see that the Syria opposition is dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood, the same organization, and their long-term agenda is introducing an al-Qaeda or Taliban like fanatical Islamic Sharia law in Syria and ending the tolerance of different religions which has been the trademark of Syrian life for decades under the Assad family. In general there are reports from journalists inside Syria over the last few months of the so-called opposition, in many cases they are al-Qaeda or Mujahidin that have been boarding from Saudi Arabia or elsewhere proving weapons, that they have beheaded civilians and blamed the atrocity on the Assad government. I don’t know what you could call the equivalent of the recognition of a government in an exile or building government in exile. Perhaps if the Russian government were to recognize the Ku Klux Klan as a government in an exile and provide it heavy artillery so that they could go against Washington or something like that. It is just absurd.
RT: If France is leading, championing the lead into Syria, what are they gaining?
WE: That’s a good question. Historically France’s elite, going back to the Napoleonic era if you want, has always tended geopolitically to punch above their weight. And I think since Sarkozy and the French military backed Sarkozy the way to get France back in the NATO game as a player that they have tended every single time on major international decisions to punch above their weight with catastrophic consequences for France. With the syrian adventure Hollande- Fabius [French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius] and the government is engaged in, is going to back fire in the face of France and certainly of the world if it comes to World War III by miscalculation. This is the most dangerous thing I have seen in 37 years of analyzing geopolitical developments.

THE CANADIANS PLEAD FOR DECLARATIONS THAT WOULD RESTORE THE USE OF THE BANK OF CANADA FOR THE BENEFIT OF CANADIANS AND REMOVE IT FROM THE CONTROL OF INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE ENTITIES WHOSE INTERESTS AND DIRECTIVES ARE PLACED ABOVE THE INTEREST OF CANADIANS AND THE PRIMACY OF THE CONSTITUTION OF CANADA
Canadian constitutional lawyer, Rocco Galati, on behalf of Canadians William Krehm, and Ann Emmett, and COMER (Committee for Monetary and Economic Reform) on December 12th, 2011 filed an action in Federal Court, to restore the use of the Bank of Canada to its original purpose, by exercising its public statutory duty and responsibility. That purpose includes making interest free loans to municipal/provincial/federal governments for “human capital” expenditures (education, health, other social services) and /or infrastructure expenditures.
The action also constitutionally challenges the government’s fallacious accounting methods in its tabling of the budget by not calculating nor revealing the true and total revenues of the nation before transferring back “tax credits” to corporations and other taxpayers. The Plaintiffs state that since 1974 there has been a gradual but sure slide into the reality that the Bank of Canada and Canada’s monetary and financial policy are dictated by private foreign banks and financial interests contrary to the Bank of Canada Act. The Plaintiffs state that the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), the Financial Stability Forum (FSF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were all created with the cognizant intent of keeping poorer nations in their place which has now expanded to all nations in that these financial institutions largely succeed in over-riding governments and constitutional orders in countries such as Canada over which they exert financial control.
The Plaintiffs state that the meetings of the BIS and Financial Stability Board (FSB) (successor of FSF), their minutes, their discussions and deliberations are secret and not available nor accountable to Parliament, the executive, nor the Canadian public notwithstanding that the Bank of Canada policies directly emanate from these meetings. These organizations are essentially private, foreign entities
controlling Canada’s banking system and socio-economic policies.
The Plaintiffs state that the defendants (officials) are unwittingly and /or wittingly, in varying degrees, knowledge and intent engaged in a conspiracy, along with the BIS, FSB, IMF to render impotent the Bank of Canada Act as well as Canadian sovereignty over financial, monetary, and socio-economic policy, and bypass the sovereign rule of Canada through its Parliament by means of banking and financial systems.

Synchronized Drone Swarm Takes Flight in Austrian Sky [video included]

The largest swarm of synchronized drones to date was organized by Ars Electronica Futurelab to take flight in the evening skies of Linz, Austria. The fleet of 49 quadrocopters demonstrated a pixel presentation of changing lights and formations.
Drones apparently have gone from being conspiracy theory, to media acceptance that Congress has approved drones in American airspace, to a means of artistic expression in less than a decade.

(Wired.com) President Obama doesn’t like to talk about how he uses drones to kill suspected militants — including American citizens. Explanations about who gets picked for remote-control death and who does the picking are left to underlings and aides. Just a few days ago, for example, Obama blew off a local Cincinnati television reporter who asked the president about his “kill list.”
On Wednesday, however, CNN’s Jessica Yellin managed to get Obama to open up, just a little, about his criteria for approving drone attacks. His comments may have been the president’s most extensive so far on robot warfare. They were also total baloney, outside experts say.
As the Bureau of Investigative Journalism notes, Obama told CNN that a terror suspect had to pass five tests before the administration would allow him to be taken out by a drone. “Drones are one tool that we use, and our criteria for using them is very tight and very strict,” the president said.
1 “It has to be a target that is authorised by our laws.”
2 “It has to be a threat that is serious and not speculative.”
3 “It has to be a situation in which we can’t capture the individual before they move forward on some sort of operational plot against the United States.”
4 “We’ve got to make sure that in whatever operations we conduct, we are very careful about avoiding civilian casualties.”
5 “That while there is a legal justification for us to try and stop [American citizens] from carrying out plots … they are subject to the protections of the Constitution and due process.”
At least two of those five points appear to be half-truths at best. In both Yemen and Pakistan, the CIA is allowed to launch a strike based on the target’s “signature” — that is, whether he appears to look and act like a terrorist. As senior U.S. officials have repeatedly confirmed, intelligence analysts don’t even have to know the target’s name, let alone whether he’s planning to attack the U.S. In some cases, merely being a military-aged male at the wrong place at the wrong time is enough to justify your death.
“What I found most striking was his claim that legitimate targets are a ‘threat that is serious and not speculative,’ and engaged in ‘some operational plot against the United States,’ That is simply not true,” emails the Council on Foreign Relations’ Micah Zenko, who has tracked the drone war as closely as any outside analyst. “The claim that the 3,000+ people killed in roughly 375 nonbattlefield targeted killings were all engaged in actual operational plots against the U.S. defies any understanding of the scope of what America has been doing for the past ten years.”
A third point — that an American citizen is given the “protections of the Constitution” before he’s approved for unmanned killing — is dubious. Yes, there is a process that the White House uses to vet proposed drone targets. Several government officials review a suspected terrorist’s dossier before an attack on that person is okayed. This is an internal review by presidential aides, not subject to any kind of independent authority, and obviously not one in which a target’s representatives can contest the case. It’s enough to condemn someone to death. The Obama administration has argued that this is the same as the “due process of law” guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.
Legal scholars have found the argument flimsy — with no coherent standard of evidence that amounts to an instant death sentence, and no limits to where that sentence can be carried out. in a January Google Hangout — one of the few other times Obama has even mentioned the drone campaign — he said that targeting decisions were not managed by “a bunch of folks in a room somewhere just making decisions.” Actually, it appears to be something rather close to that.

One gram of DNA can store 700 terabytes of data, reveals the latest research done by George church, a bio-engineer and professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School with his team; which is 1000 times more than previous record in terms of data density. Team was successful in storing around 700 kilobytes of data, which in this case was church’s latest book Regenesis: How Synthetic Biology Will Reinvent Nature and Ourselves; and were able to make 70 billion copies of the same (almost 44 petabytes of data).
