Mysterious Rumbling Creates Cloud of Fear Across Vancouver Island

CTV News
January 26, 2012

VICTORIA – In the last 48 hours a number of people in Sooke have reported feeling powerful tremors that some believe are an earthquake.

“I heard what sounded like a freight train coming, that rumble, and it was very brief. My bed actually shifted,” one Sooke homeowner told CTV News.

Seismologists say there are no indications of an earthquake in the Sooke area and all calling the recent reports a mystery.

On Wednesday several employees downtown felt similar shaking but believed it was a result of blasting at a downtown construction site.

RECON ALERT: Strange Occurrence in New York Subway – Requesting Intel

The Intel Hub
January 25, 2012

NEW YORK — Last Friday a strange event took place in a New York Subway. The event seems out of the ordinary, therefore we have chosen to report on it in an attempt to flush out more information from whistleblowers and/or eyewitnesses. At this time we are not exactly sure what prompted this event in the subway near One World Trade.

The original report from Earth Walker reads;

Thousands of passengers, mostly financial district workers were suspiciously herded into the Path Trains boarding area. A passenger over heard a police officer as saying they need crowd control in this area while the trains were being re-routed.

There was no explanation offered as to why this happened but, the passenger that experienced this event did point that most of these people worked in the financial district. The suspicion is that because this happened near the entrance of the One World Trade Center , this might possibly be staging of a false flag event to potentially eliminate the financial workers and Wall Street, thus eliminating traces of money laundering and astronomical financial impropriety. This suspicion is perhaps a logical leap to consider the fallout if such an event would actually occur.

Much like the destruction of the World Trade Center, the evidence of money laundering and astronomical financial impropriety would be eliminated if such an event did happen.

Maybe the NYPD is practicing for such an event or if this is a staging, this must not turn into another 9/11.

If anyone knows more about this incident in the subway, now is the time to expose it.

If you have any information on this event contact us: tips@theintelhub.com

Update: We received this email shortly after publishing the above article:

I have an uncle who works in lower Manhattan and takes the path train during the weekdays. He spoke to me about a similar incident on the path train in which an NYPD female Sergeant apparently became upset that several rookie cops were allowing passengers to walk in-between the cars.

She scolded the officers and ordered them to get everyone off the train. The rookie cops, embarrassed obviously, and wanting to gain her approval began to systematically walk from car to car removing everyone off the train. Most of the passengers were of the corporate type who work in the financial district.

My uncle was shocked at how blatantly irresponsible this female Sergeant was behaving and how arrogantly she was pushing her weight around with these rookie cops. She might have been a rookie Sergeant as well. Anyway, this may or may not be the same incident that you’re reporting on in your article. Hope it helps.

Red Spotlights to Mark ‘Pre-crime’ Suspects [video]

In a glowing review of the rising prevalence of high-tech big brother surveillance gadgets in police force use, the Associated Press reports that East Orange, New Jersey plans to cut crime by highlighting suspects with a red-beamed spotlight — before any crime is committed — a “pre-crime” deterrent to be mounted on nearby street lights or other fixtures.

Alternative Video Link

According to the report, police officers monitor hundreds of video feeds from across the city and opt to brand would-be criminals with a red glow if they believe they are about to engage in a crime, such as a street corner mugging.

“Whereas London has talking cameras, we’re about to deploy light projecting cameras, better known as light-based intervention systems.” said William Robinson, Police Chief for East Orange. He added, “The message to criminals is, we’re observing you, the police are recording you, and the police are responding.”

As Robinson mentioned, other “pre-crime” measures have been deployed both in the UK and United States, as well as other countries. Talking cameras in the UK bark orders at ‘anti-social’ offenders, while the Homeland Stasi here has partnered with Intellistreets to release “smart” street lights capable of saving energy while monitoring & recording citizens, as well as displaying government-mandated emergency alerts on digital banners.

Now “pre-crime” spotlights that bathe surveillance targets in a criminally-branded red color will help complete the circle of preemptive suspicion.

But that’s just one flashy feature in a rash of new high-tech solutions provided to the crime-ridden city under federal grant money. In East Orange, and probably a locale near you, too, everyone is a “pre-crime” suspect until proven innocent.

The video goes on to brag that officer squad cars also scan the license plates of every single vehicle they pass, checking them against a variety of lists — from terrorist monitor lists, to unpaid parking tickets, warrants and more. Officers can then pull over vehicles that match watch lists, even if the driver has committed no violations to draw attention from the patrol vehicle.

Further, cameras tied into police video monitor stations can also be accessed from squad cars; officers can zoom in on nearby locations to determine if a situation is underway, or if a suspect can be identified. The red light is intended to help track a would-be criminal once surveillance is already underway.

A spokesperson for the ACLU noted a worrisome climate of monitoring and spying on political groups, anti-abortion activists and more. Meanwhile, the MIAC Missouri law enforcement memo, as well as similar documents released from the Department of Homeland Security, have made clear that returning veterans and supporters of third-party political candidates and many other groups are note only considered “domestic extremists,” but have been put on law enforcement watch lists as well as anti-terrorism databases.

It has further been revealed that numerous non-violent political groups and grassroots campaigns have been labeled as “terrorists” and monitored by regional Fusion Centers.

SUPERPOWER is a comprehensive film that asks tough questions and goes behind the scenes of America’s national security apparatus and military actions. Featuring interviews with Michel Chossudovsky, Bill Blum, Chalmers Johnson and Noam Chomsky, among many others.

Friend Turned Foe: Turkey Rounds on Syria in Regional Power Bid [video]

YouTube – GlobalResearchTV
January 19, 2012

Turkey, Syria’s neighbor and long-time ally, is now taking an active role in attempts to dethrone Assad. Ankara is backing Western actions, reportedly providing a base for training Syrian rebels and even discussing a no-fly zone with the US.

Back in 2002 Turkey, strictly following its newly-designed “zero problems with neighbors” foreign policy, was engaged in building strong economic, political, and social ties with neighboring countries.

Everything was going to plan until the Arab Spring hit the region.

Turkey faced a choice: to maintain its policy of engagement with authoritarian Arab leaders, or to take a different path.

And Syria became the country which felt the full force of Ankara’s policy u-turn when Turkey came out in support of Syria’s opposition and aligned itself with the country’s staunch enemy — the US.

Turkey found itself in the frontline of the Syrian crisis last June when thousands of Syrians poured across its border, fleeing a government crackdown on the town of Jisr-al-Shughour. At the time, the Red Crescent said it was caring for 30,000 refugees in camps just inside Turkish territory.

Threats of the conflict spilling into Turkey caused Ankara to consider sending troops into Syria to create a buffer zone. In the event, it was not deemed necessary, but the tensions did not help relations between the two neighbors.

Turkey claimed that the Syrian crisis could not be resolved through negotiations, that Bashar al-Assad could no longer be trusted, and started to act.

Turkey has suspended energy cooperation with Syria and threatened to stop supplying electricity to the country.

It followed the Arab League and announced a raft of punitive measures targeting President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, provoking Damascus to suspend its free trade pact with Ankara.

As a result, cross border trade ground to a halt; flourishing commercial links between northern Syria and south-eastern Turkey were severed as if they had never existed.

Reports about American and NATO forces training Syrian rebels in the southeastern Turkish city of Hakkari added more fuel to the fire.

And according to PressTV reports quoted in the Turkish daily Milliyet, former FBI employee Sibel Edmonds has said the bureau started a training program in Turkey back in May.

She also mentioned that the US was involved in smuggling arms into Syria from Incirlik military base in Turkey in addition to providing financial support for the Syrian rebels.

Russia’s Kommersant daily also reported in November on operations being managed from Turkish territory.

Meanwhile, rebel groups that attack government forces have frequently fled retribution by crossing the Turkish border.

And finally, the most recent move from Turkey — discussions with the US about a no-fly zone over Syria, in what looks suspiciously like a Libya-style scenario.

Nikolay Patrushev, head of the Security Council of Russia, said on January 13 that the United States and Turkey — both NATO members — were discussing the possibility of a no-fly zone.

From ‘Zero Problem Policy’ to Regional Leadership

Back in 2003, Turkey and Syria entered a golden era of bilateral relations, with a free trade agreement, a visa-free regime and several presidential visits. The border areas became especially close — families living on both sides felt they shared a common home.

To switch from “a zero-problem policy” with your neighbors to a “problem-creating position,” you need good reason. And Turkey seems to have few.

Geographically, politically and religiously, Turkey has always been the crossing point of decidedly-different worlds.

Ankara has long harbored ambitions to be the region’s powerful, leading state.

But the influence of Iran, Israel and Egypt complicated Turkey’s path to its goal.

The Arab Spring has significantly shifted the years-long balance of power in the Middle East. Everyone has become weaker — everyone except Turkey which, on the contrary, has significantly increased its influence in the Middle East and North Africa.

“Turkey wants to be leading this movement of changes and reforms in the Middle East,” Dr. Jeremy Salt, a Middle East politics expert, told RT.

“This is a kind of cohabitation between America and Turkey: Turkey helps America in exchange for some stuff. This is how Turkey becomes more and more influential in the region,” echoes political science professor Gokhan Bacik.

The road Turkey is now following may look slippery, but no matter how dangerous its choice may be, there seems to be no way back.
