St. Louis Cop Suspended After Radical Views Are Exposed by YouTuber — videos included

Activist Post
Aug 23, 2014

Sergeant Dan Page of the St. Louis County Police Department was caught earlier this week participating in what seemed like a staged CNN broadcast in Ferguson where he shoved reporter Don Lemon while standing with peaceful protesters.

YouTube activist The Black Child noticed the encounter on CNN and quickly identified Page and exposed his radical views in the video below. The Black Child pulled clips from a 2012 lecture given by Sergeant Page where he gives detailed plans of a military police state takeover of America.

CNN has now confirmed the officer pretending to manhandle reporter Don Lemon is indeed Dan Page in that 2012 lecture. Page has been suspended for his ideology and will be forced to undergo psychiatric evaluation. Of course, they still pretend that Page wasn’t a CNN-paid provocateur in that ridiculous sidewalk scene.

Lemon uses the opportunity to smear the Oath Keepers as sharing Page’s views. However, they report Oath Keeper’s response that Page is not a member of their organization and was only invited to lecture about the police state.

This is the second time in a week that an activist journalist got a thug removed from the Ferguson protest. Three days ago a police officer pointed an assault rifle in the face of a peaceful citizen journalist and says “I will fucking kill you”. When the livestreamer asks for his name the officer replied “Go fuck yourself!”

The officer was removed from Ferguson the following day and suspended. Activist journalists have done more to enforce police accountability this week than authorities seem to have done in a span of years.

It’s a very interesting world we live in.

Crowdfunding campaign for officer who shot Michael Brown spurs controversy

A crowdfunding campaign in support of the officer who shot unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown is under fire as it has raised more money to date than all of the campaigns for the victim of the shooting combined.

Calls to have the website hosting the campaign, GoFundMe, take down the donation page reached a fever pitch when the internet was alerted to the fact that many of the comments being left alongside donations were hateful and racist in nature. As of Friday, donations to Officer Darren Wilson stood at $234,910 after five days of activity.

A similar campaign for the Michael Brown family – set up on the same website – has raised just over $174,000 in nine days, while a separate fund established specifically for the Brown children had raised $1,136 in 10 days.

A separate campaign meant to support local journalists and keep the events in Ferguson, Missouri, in the news, meanwhile, has raised more than $13,000 so far.

Critics of the campaign for Wilson complained that it was unnecessary since the officer is still getting paid by the police department – he was placed on paid administrative leave following the incident involving Brown, in which the teenager was fatally shot up to six times. The shooting sparked protests against police brutality and excessive force in Ferguson, which are still ongoing.

“This page has been created to support Officer Darren Wilson of the Ferguson Police Department,” the page originally read, according to Business Insider. “We stand behind Officer Darren Wilson and his family during this trying time in their lives. All proceeds will be sent directly to Darren Wilson and his family for any financial needs they may have including legal fees.”

Additionally, when donations began flooding in, many were accompanied by racist comments, causing many on social media to accuse the campaign of violating GoFundMe’s terms and conditions. The website specifically states that “items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime” are prohibited.

Wilson has not been charged with a crime over Brown’s death, however, and it is unclear if he will be. The website eventually disabled the comments on the page, but stated that it’s a “neutral platform” and the campaign would not be removed.

Others, meanwhile, noted that GoFundMe collects five percent of all the money raised in a campaign, suggesting it may be why the page was never taken down.

Three teens create an incredible police accountability app with tons of awesome features — video included

By John Vibes | The Free Thought Project.com

A new app will become available for IPhone and Android devices later this month that will allow people to rate their local police department, as well as their individual police encounters.  Possibly the most impressive thing about this app, is that it was created by a few young teenagers who wanted to find solutions to the problem of police corruption.

14-year-old Caleb Christian and his two sisters, 16-year-old Ima, and 15 year old Asha, plan to release their revolutionary new app “Five-O” on August 18th.  The app will allow people to review and rate their experiences with police much like the app “Yelp!” allows people to rate and review private businesses.

Five-O will allow users to share the details of their police encounters and traffic stops with the world, and will make it possible for victims of police brutality to instantly gather local support for their case.

“We’ve been hearing about the negative instances in the news, for instance most recently the Michael Brown case, and we always talk about these issues with our parents, they always try to reinforce that we should focus on solutions. It’s important to talk about the issues, but they try to make us focus on finding solutions. That made us think why don’t we create an app to help us solve this problem,” Ima Christian told Business Insider.

New Anti Police State App Helps You “See Something, Say Something” in Real-Time — video included

Activist Post
Aug 23, 2014

Recent studies have shown that police are held almost completely unaccountable by the current systems of governmental oversight. Perhaps this is the reason why you are 9 times more likely to be killed by a law enforcement officer than a terrorist. Rather than wait for bloated bureaucracy or corrupt government to save the day, we as activists have to find our own solutions. Technology is one of these solutions.

As we have seen, the violent crackdown on independent journalism in Ferguson is a sign of a worsening situation in much of America. More than ever, each citizen needs to become a member of the media and record everything that they see during encounters with the police.

A new smartphone app called Sidekik aims to make it as easy as possible for you not only to record the police and upload that recording offsite, but to put you in immediate contact with legal representation to help you navigate the encounter … in real-time.

Please view additional details and their Indiegogo campaign video below if you would like to support this new anti police state tool.

What is Sidekik?

Sidekik is a mobile application which will perform two key actions simultaneously. One, Sidekik will activate your smartphone’s audio and video recording devices and begin streaming the data to a secure facility. Two, Sidekik will initiate a video call and connect you with an attorney who will represent you in whatever situation you find yourself.

Lessons from Ferguson: Prepping for Civil Unrest and Martial Law

by Daisy Luther
Activist Post
Aug 19, 2014

Any prepared and informed person knows that the threat isn’t always the event itself, which could be anything from a natural disaster to a rioting spree after a sporting event to an economic collapse. It’s the chaos during the aftermath of the event.

If you ever had any doubts about that statement, you need look no further than Ferguson, Missouri.

Today, Governor Jay Nixon called in the National Guard.

Martial law has officially arrived in Ferguson.

Of course, this only makes it official. The past week has shown a militarized police force driving around in tanks, wearing body armor, and brutally responding to citizens. Martial law was already there and the Constitution was already suspended.  Nixon just made it official.

This is just the icing on the chaos cupcake, however.

It all started a week ago when a police officer shot a black suspect.  Suddenly, amidst cries of “racism”  an absolute breakdown of society occurred within 24 hours of the shooting.  People no longer governed themselves according to laws and morals.  Store owners were forced to arm themselves to protect their businesses from a mob that looted with all of the joyful abandon of a lottery winner on a shopping spree. Cops responded, but were vastly outnumbered. Whether these officers were originally vicious individuals or whether fear of the mob mentality made them brutal, their responses were harsh and ruthless.

This article isn’t a debate on right vs. wrong. It isn’t about whether Michael Brown deserved to be shot or whether he was an innocent victim. It isn’t about the race of the looters, the cops, or the residents of Ferguson. It isn’t even about the Constitutional rights that are being ground under the heels of boots. I’m not getting into any of that.

It’s about watching and learning from the events in Ferguson, because this type of chaos could be coming to a city near you. When society breaks down, it nearly always follows a distinct path.  The main variable is how quickly the situation devolves.

The violence began around 8 p.m. and largely dissipated within a couple hours, though the police presence in the St. Louis suburb remained at war-like levels into the wee hours of the morning.

Hundreds — perhaps thousands — of protesters roamed West Florissant Avenue.

Looters prowled several blocks of the main thoroughfare, damaging businesses and shattering glass in the few storefronts that had yet remained intact.

The list of businesses on West Florissant that were looted on Sunday night included a Domino’s Pizza, a Papa John’s Pizza, an O’Reilly’s Auto Parts and a Public Storage facility.

Just west, on Chambers Road, a large group of looters trashed a small store called Dellwood Market. The store ended up on fire, according to a Facebook page called Ferguson Scanner Updates.

“I know that people are upset, but is this the justice for Mike Brown?” the distraught owner asked, according to local CBS affiliate KMOV.

A handful of protesters suffered gunshot wounds and the crowds prevented an ambulance from arriving on the scene.

A large group of people had overrun a McDonald’s on the street. Employees of the McDonald’s were forced to lock themselves in a storage room until police arrived. (source)

Here’s a synopsis of the threats during such an event and what you can do to prepare for them.
