Protesters in eastern Ukraine’s city of Slavyansk, one of the main focal points of resistance to Kiev, are preparing to face the crackdown. Armoured vehicles are converging on the city and locals say all roads have been sealed off. RT’s Maria Finoshina reports from the restive region.

Honestly, I find their support of Assange to be highly questionable. I also think RT puts out a lot of fluff, like bears dancing in jails while saying it’s funny or something, etc… but when it comes to this kind of stuff they seem to generally know what they’re talking about…
Yes, they can be biased, and yes this whole WW3 thing could be somewhat of a show, so to speak, and they don’t expose as much Russian injustice as they probably should but I am drawn to their reporting on Ukraine because the Ukraine situation seems to be so similar to the Syria situation. I’ve been following that fiasco as much as possible the past 3 years and RT has been one of the few outlets out there that have the guts to call things like they see them. They know who the victims are and who the aggressors are in that situation. Does that mean they’re not in a box and they don’t see the world through somewhat dumbed down terms? No. It’s mainstream media. What do you expect? To be fair, though, I would say 40% of RT is inaccurate, not 90%. We should remember that tossing something out merely because of where/who it comes from (instead of because of the qualities of the actual thing itself)… is intellectually lazy.
