Palestinians start #RubbleBucketChallenge to raise awareness of war in Gaza — video included
News Forage
Aug 26, 2014
We’re all well aware by now of the Ice Bucket Challenge – a viral trend in which people, including celebrities and pro athletes, are funding ALS research and raising awareness of the deadly disease.
But how about the Rubble Bucket Challenge?
No ordinary copycat, the Rubble Bucket Challenge almost mocks the frivolity of the North American trend of taking an icy cold shower by displaying the harsh reality of everyday life in the Gaza Strip.
Yes, residents of Gaza have taken to dumping rubble, sand and gravel over their heads to raise awareness of the harsh living conditions in the war-torn region.
“The use of water is more important than to empty over our heads,” said Palestinian journalist Ayman al Aloul, who posted the first Rubble Bucket Challenge on Facebook. “And even if the water is available it is difficult to freeze it.”
Instead, rubble from destroyed buildings appears to be bountiful in the region.
The Rubble Bucket Challenge Facebook page was started on Saturday and has quickly garnered over 4,000 likes, as well as submissions posted by a variety of people from all walks of life.

Well-known but misleading movie portrayals:
Psycho (1960) (Norman Bates)
• depicts psychopaths as having multiple personality disorder
slasher movie villains (70s & 80s) (Jason Voorhees, Freddy Kruger, Michael Myers)
• deranged and manic criminally insane killers. Could be classed as psychopaths, but are very rare in the real world.
Silence of the Lambs (1991) (Hannibal Lector) (nb. Manhunter (1986) is more accurate)
• Links psychopathy to cannibalism.
American Psycho (2000) (Patrick Bateman)
• gives the impression that psychopaths are psychotic and hallucinate.
Accurate movie portrayals:
Gaslight (1944) (Gregory Anton)
• A psychopath marries a woman to get at her jewels, and convinces her she is insane.
Clockwork Orange (1971) (Alex)
• The state using aversion therapy to control a psychopath. It doesn’t work.
The Devils (1971) (Urbain Grandier)
• portrayed as a victimised hero in the Ken Russell film and in the source novel (Aldous Huxley’s The Devils of Loudun (1952)) (see chapter 5 of Thomas Sheridan’s Defeated Demons (2012). Sheridan argues that Huxley is a psychopathic author defending the actions of a psychopathic character from history, and that the charming and sexually promiscuous Grandier was the real cause of chaos and strife at Loudun in 1634).
To Die For (1995) (Suzanne Stone)
• Dr. Robert Hare consulted Nicole Kidman on her character
The Talented Mr Ripley (1999) (Tom Ripley)
The Imposter (2012 documentary) (Frédéric Bourdin)
• low-level con man, who constantly changed his identity, spins an amazing web of lies on camera
Accurate symbolic fictional portrayals:
Some fantasy stories evoke the emotional realism of a psychopath using symbolism:
Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897) (nb. Count Dracula is in part based on real-life actor Sir Henry Irving)
• drains life energy from victims (blood drinking)
• can spread his psychopathy (by biting victims)
• cannot self reflect (no reflection in mirrors)
• can assume different personalities (shapeshifter)
• able to seduce others (usually presented as very attractive to women)
Children’s Fairytales (various wicked stepmothers, imps, and wolves) Example: Rumpelstiltskin (16th century?)
• predatory lender (creates gold out of thin air for the miller’s daughter in exchange for her life and first born child)
• uninterested in riches, really interested in human ownership and control
• Is defeated when protagonist becomes aware of who he really is (when she finds out his real name, a way of bringing something clearly into consciousness, the ‘spell’ on her is broken)

Hacker Hijacks Satoshi Nakamoto’s Email, Threatens to Reveal All
CoinDesk
Sept 9, 2014
Published on September 9, 2014 at 03:55 BST
The bitcoin world is abuzz with speculation that some of Satoshi Nakamoto’s online accounts have been compromised, concerned a hacker could potentially access information concerning the bitcoin creator’s true identity or use the accounts to defraud key members of the bitcoin community.
Wired reported that the alleged hacker had posted on Pastebin that they would reveal key details of Nakamoto’s identity if 25 BTC were sent to a specified bitcoin address. While small donations have been coming in, the address still appears well short of that mark.
Administrator ‘theymos’ of the Bitcoin Talk forum (aka Michael Marquardt) a key figure in bitcoin’s online community, posted just after 9pm (BST) on 8th September, alerting the community of the development, writing:
“Today I received an email from satoshin@gmx.com (Satoshi’s old email address), the contents of which make me almost certain that the email account is compromised. The email was not spoofed in any way. It seems very likely that either Satoshi’s email account in particular or gmx.com in general was compromised, and the email account is now under the control of someone else. Perhaps satoshin@gmx.com expired and then someone else registered it.”
“Everyone knows that Bitcoin runs on drama, so this should do wonders for the recent price slump!” theymos added later.
Shortly after, another mysterious message appeared on the P2Pfoundation’s ‘ning’ message board, as a reply to Nakamoto’s original introduction to bitcoin. The post was sent from the Satoshi Nakamoto account, but appeared to warn him of what was happening:
“Dear Satoshi. Your dox, passwords and IP addresses are being sold on the darknet. Apparently you didn’t configure Tor properly and your IP leaked when you used your email account sometime in 2010. You are not safe. You need to get out of where you are as soon as possible before these people harm you. Thank you for inventing bitcoin.”
Bitcoin’s source code page on SourceForge also redirected to anti-bitcoin troll site ‘buttcoin’, although it was later returned to its original state (it would still be prudent to not download anything from that particular page, however).

Most People Don’t Believe It, But We Are Right On Schedule For The Next Financial Crash
by Michael Snyder
The Economic Collapse
Sept 4, 2014
People have such short memories. Even though we are repeating so many of the same patterns that we witnessed in 2000-2001 and 2007-2008, most people do not think that another financial crash is coming. In fact, with the stock market setting record high after record high lately, I have been taking quite a bit of criticism for my relentless warnings about the coming financial storm. Many of the comments go something like this: “Snyder you are a moron! Nothing you say ever comes true. The stock market is going to keep on rocking and Obama is going to lead this country back to greatness. I hope that you choke on all of your doom and gloom.” Of course these critics never offer any hard evidence that I have been wrong about anything. They just assume that since the stock market has soared to unprecedented heights that all of us “bears” must have been wrong.
But the truth is that what we are observing right now is classic bubble behavior. The stock market crashes of 1929, 1987 and 2008 were all preceded by irrational market rallies in the spring or summer. The financial markets have become completely divorced from economic reality, and such a state of affairs never lasts forever. It is just a matter of time before a correction comes.
But every time there is a bubble, most people end up getting caught up in all of the euphoria. And it is happening again. In fact, CNBC has just reported that bearishness among market newsletter writers is the lowest that it has been since 1987. But of course we all remember what happened back in 1987…
Professional investors haven’t had this little fear about stocks since Ronald Reagan was president.
It was the same year Michael Jackson told us in a song he was “Bad.” The New York Giants won the Super Bowl.
And oh yeah … by the way … the stock market crashed.
As gauged by the weekly Investors Intelligence report, bearishness among market newsletter writers has fallen to 13.3 percent, a level it has not seen since 1987 as the market continues to set new highs despite a seemingly endless call for a long-overdue correction.
People need to understand that just because something has not happened yet does not mean that it is not going to happen.
In this day and age, we have extremely short attention spans and we do not have the patience to wait for much of anything. But the financial world is not a game of checkers. It is a game of chess where things can take an extended period of time to play out.
Those that are mocking those of us that are bearish should consider where we stand financially in comparison to previous crash cycles. For example, the derivatives bubble is 20 percent larger than it was back in 2008, the “too big to fail banks” are 37 percent larger than they were back in 2008 and global debt levels are 40 percent larger than they were back in 2008.
In other words, many of our long-term economic problems are a lot worse than they were just prior to the last major financial meltdown.
But most people pay such little attention to the fundamentals these days. All they can see is that little stock market ticker going up and up and up.
Other analysts with much stronger credentials than I are issuing similar ominous warnings about what is ahead for the financial markets.
The Self-Driving Car is Going to End in Disaster
by Joshua Krause
Activist Post
Sept 1, 2014
On the surface, self driving cars sounds like a godsend. You could sit back and relax during your commutes, safe in the knowledge that your computer-driven vehicle will get you to your destination safe and sound. “Safe” being the keyword here, because these vehicles will supposedly be safer than any human driver. The computer will never experience road rage or fatigue, and will have lightning fast reflexes. So far, Google’s test vehicles have driven over 700,000 thousand miles without incident.
However, we don’t really know how safe or effective they’ll be until ordinary drivers begin adopting the technology on a wider basis. Many of the test drives may have been restricted to ideal conditions. In California, for instance, Google has painstakingly mapped out 2000 miles of roadway for their testing, ignoring the other 172,000 miles of public roads. They’ve essentially created the perfect lab setting to test the technology, and their self-driving cars may not be prepared for real-world conditions.
Why such hype about the Michael Brown killing?

Why such hype about the Michael Brown killing?
By Brandon Martinez
Why is there such hype over the police shooting death of one African-American 18-year-old in the US? Every death is a tragedy, but the disproportionate coverage of the slaying of Michael Brown at the hands of a Ferguson, Missouri, police officer earlier this month is odd, don’t you think?
The disputed incident and its aftermath has been the mainstay of media headlines for weeks. Even international media outlets have picked up on the story.
In contrast, murders of white people in the US are not given proportionate coverage, and are in fact downplayed quite significantly by all major media.
When in 2007, a young white Tennessee couple, Channon Christian and Chris Newson, were abducted by five black assailants, sexually assaulted and then murdered in a brutal fashion, the national media was completely silent. Dozens of other murders of whites in a similarly grotesque manner go underreported or unreported by major outlets in the US and abroad. In fact, black-on-white crime is a veritable taboo in the mass media, never to be broached with any serious vigor.
The race of black or non-white perpetrators of violent crime is often completely left out of media reports. It is even worse in Europe where immigrants charged with violent offenses are given extremely lenient sentences for despicable crimes.
Unbeknownst to most people, white people in South Africa are in danger of genocide. Genocide Watch has been tracking the violent racist murders of South African whites, especially farmers, who have been killed in the tens of thousands since the fall of apartheid in 1994. Yet you’d never know about it if you were an avid follower of mainstream media.
America’s black community has mobilized mass protests over the shooting death of Michael Brown, alleging the cause of the tragedy stems from white racism in the Ferguson police force. The race of the offending police officer in this instance is being heavily emphasized, whereas if the roles were reversed (i.e., Michael Brown was white and the officer who shot him was black) than the race of the officer or the slain teen would not even be an issue here. In fact, the death might not even have been reported outside local media.
The moral particularism of some African-Americans is hard to ignore. Citing a 2012 study by the US Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, American Free Press writer Victor Thorn pointed out that “in 2010 black youths committed six times more murders, three times more rapes, 10 times more robberies and three times more assaults than did their white counterparts.” Thorn quotes an FBI crime report which stated that “In the year 2008, black youths, who make up 16% of the youth population, accounted for 52% of juvenile violent crime arrests, including 58% for homicide and 67% for robbery.” “By contrast,” Thorn explained, “the only categories where white youths surpassed blacks were in liquor law violations and driving under the influence.”
Some of these violent crimes are committed explicitly due to the perpetrator’s racist contempt for the white victims, yet such incidents are rarely covered in any substantial way by major media.
Despite numerous studies and FBI crime statistics that consistently demonstrate the disproportionate number of violent crimes committed by blacks and other minorities in the US, there are never any mass demonstrations against the perpetrators of these crimes. African-Americans are not protesting the racist attacks against whites in South Africa. No, they are silent on the issue.
The fact is that the political power of whites in the US and other Western countries has declined dramatically over the past 50 to 60 years. Today, it is not uncommon to find harsh critiques of white history in high schools and universities. The constant bleating about slavery and colonial-era misconduct of European states is the bread and butter of the history and sociology departments of most major universities. Yet other racial and ethnic groups are not faced with the same obsessive historical scrutiny. People of African descent are not told to feel guilty about the plethora of atrocities that have occurred on their continent of origin over the centuries, including slavery which is a crime most races and cultures on earth have tried their hand at; Chinese are not told to feel bad about the colossal misdeeds committed by Chairman Mao’s communist regime or other dark periods in Chinese history; Jews are not made to feel remorseful over the fact that many of their people spearheaded Bolshevism and are responsible for the carnage and cruelty it inflicted upon the people of Russia and Eastern Europe. But white people are implored to hang their heads in perpetual shame over the actions and policies of their elite hundreds of years ago when morality wasn’t quite as far up the humanist ladder as it is today.
As Jared Taylor of American Renaissance pointed out in a recent video entitled “War on Whites,” racist outbursts against whites by prominent people in society are not met with hostility by the media or academia. It is perfectly ok to insult whites and make crass generalizations about them. Taylor cites several recent articles appearing in mainstream periodicals headlined “Why I Can’t Stand White Belly Dancers” and “Why I’m Tired of Seeing White People on the Big Screen.” Those responsible for such diatribes are rarely, if ever, reprimanded or scrutinized. One extreme example is that of Noel Ignatiev, a Jewish former professor of American history at Massachusetts College of Art who founded a bizarre magazine called “Race Traitor” and notoriously called for the white race to be “abolished.” The Race Traitor magazine’s tagline is: “Treason to whiteness is loyalty to humanity.” Many other examples of this kind of hate speech against whites can be found permeating mainstream media and academic discourse in the West, yet if similar things are said by prominent whites against other ethnic groups, there is overwhelming backlash from all areas of society.
The double standards are clear as day on the issue of race. Ethnic minorities in the West are encouraged to be ethnocentric, chauvinistic and to act in concert with one another to advance their ethnic interests, whereas whites are condemned as racists for doing the same. White academics such as Philippe Rushton are scolded, hounded and harried for even suggesting, based on scientific data, that there are biological differences between the races.
USAID: ‘In desperate need of adult supervision’
21st Century Wire [Sept 5, 2014]
SPECIAL REPORT
We’ve been tracking the dirty work of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for several decades now — a Federal government agency that claims its main charge to be administering U.S. foreign assistance around the world:
“USAID is the lead U.S. Government agency that works to end extreme global poverty and enable resilient, democratic societies to realize their potential.” (via usaid.gov)
The reality of USAID is something very different. USAID is also a traditional CIA front organization, allowing the agency access to an array of places and things around the globe.
On August 11th of this year, 21WIRE’s report on USAID’s secret operation against Cuba detailed how the agency “established a fake HIV prevention workshop in Cuba where their young recruits worked to turn young people against the Castro regime.”
The author of the report, Stuart J. Hooper, expands:
“After undertaking a few short seminars, these young people were expected to do the work of a seasoned CIA officer, which is something that could have easily gotten their vastly inexperienced and unprepared selves into severe trouble with Cuban authorities.”
Not exactly the hallmark of a humanitarian agency promising to end global poverty.
IMAGE: CANVAS trained and managed Egyptian protestors as early as 2009 in preparation for the fabled ‘Arab Spring’ in 2010-2011. These professional agitators-for-hire globe-trot, and openly promote their CFR-sponsored agenda.
Back on November 24th, 2011, Patrick Henningsen’s report “A US-Backed Military Junta in Egypt Was Always The Plan” confirmed:
“We know that it was not Egyptian and Tunisian students working in a political vacuum, but the Centre for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies (CANVAS), a professional consultancy, who took students from the Middle East and trained them overseas as early back as 2009.”
Within the vast entanglement of government and non-government (NGO) subcontractor culture, you’ll not be surprised to know CANVAS is part-funded and supported by globalist foundations like George Soros’s Freedom House and Open Society Institute, as well as CIA-linked National Endowment for Democracy and, of course, the full frontal USAID.
IMAGE: Globalist foundations promoting democracy and freedom have been active in fomenting uprisings all over the planet, including the ‘Occupy’ movements. Their creative consultants are well-versed in NLP tactics for the crowd.
Now, we have the matter of the apparent brutal beheadings of two American journalists, James Foley and Steven Sotloff.
According to a recent article in the The Weekly Standard, in 2009, just three years before his capture in Syria, Foley worked for USAID-funded development projects in Baghdad. And then in 2011, he “moved to Libya” briefly where he was eventually kidnapped and held for over a month. Michael Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg writes:
“This guy has a resume that reads more like a James Bond film script than that of a journalist with a teaching background. He works for USAID in 2009 in Iraq, then he finds himself kidnapped in Libya two years later by Gaddafi forces. Then, after all of this, he finds himself captured in Syria, only to be beheaded two years later by ISIS (the terror organization funded by our ally Saudi Arabia).”
What else was James Foley doing for USAID?
IMAGE: While the masses train their eyes on the sickest of social media, set pieces continue to be placed under their noses.
21WIRE’s Andrew McKillop writes in a recent article titled “ISIS dot com: Social Media Barons Are Pushing the New Barbarity”:
“Whether or not the Foley video was staged to solicit a certain public reaction to it, for example – launching US air strikes in Syria, it’s obvious that there is some dark arts in action in the way Western media are touting these videos in public. They are actively aiding and abetting the most hideous forms of exhibitionism – for example the decapitation of James Foley, called “execution” and not what it really was in terms of a billion dollar US media marketing campaign – an open air murder by a psychopath and war criminal. In the end, their is zero moral value in re-disseminating this kind of pornography through the multi-billion broadcast media complex, yet they are doing more and more push-marketing of this material each year.”
USAID and others like it clearly operate in these hot zones very much in plain sight. Yet our eyes and our media simply don’t want to look away from the news feed — and that’s what keeps them in their trade.
We led this report with USAID’s secret operation against Cuba, and this is where we will close it.
The Associated Press investigation that blew the cover off the “fake HIV prevention workshop” also discovered that USAID and its contractor (yes, yet another layer), Creative Associates International, continued the program despite U.S. officials issuing warnings to government contractors:
“U.S. officials privately told their government contractors to consider suspending travel to Cuba after the arrest of contractor Alan Gross, who remains imprisoned after smuggling in sensitive technology. A lawyer for Gross said Monday that his client cannot take life in prison much longer and has said his goodbyes to his wife and a daughter.”
How reckless can a Federal agency and its contractors be? Answer: Creative Associates cited the workshop as a “success story.”
“The group’s final report said the workshop would be used as a blueprint across the island.”
“But Sen. Jeff Flake, a Republican from Arizona and longtime critic of USAID’s Cuba projects, said, “These programs are in desperate need of adult supervision. If you are using an AIDS workshop as a front for something else, that’s … I don’t know what to say … it’s just wrong.”
There’s plenty more to say – and it starts with you.
