The Surfrider Foundation has released its preliminary “State of the Beach” study for the Gulf of Mexico from BP’s ongoing Deepwater Horizon disaster.

Sadly, things aren’t getting cleaner faster, according to their results. The Corexit that BP used to “disperse” the oil now appears to be making it tougher for microbes to digest the oil. I wrote about this problem in depth in “The BP Cover-Up.”

The persistence of Corexit mixed with crude oil has now weathered to tar, yet is traceable to BP’s Deepwater Horizon brew through its chemical fingerprint. The mix creates a fluorescent signature visible under UV light. From the report:

Gulf seafood deformities alarm scientists [video included]

New Orleans, LA – “The fishermen have never seen anything like this,” Dr Jim Cowan told Al Jazeera. “And in my 20 years working on red snapper, looking at somewhere between 20 and 30,000 fish, I’ve never seen anything like this either.”

Dr Cowan, with Louisiana State University’s Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences started hearing about fish with sores and lesions from fishermen in November 2010.

Cowan’s findings replicate those of others living along vast areas of the Gulf Coast that have been impacted by BP’s oil and dispersants.

Gulf of Mexico fishermen, scientists and seafood processors have told Al Jazeera they are finding disturbing numbers of mutated shrimp, crab and fish that they believe are deformed by chemicals released during BP’s 2010 oil disaster.

Along with collapsing fisheries, signs of malignant impact on the regional ecosystem are ominous: horribly mutated shrimp, fish with oozing sores, underdeveloped blue crabs lacking claws, eyeless crabs and shrimp – and interviewees’ fingers point towards BP’s oil pollution disaster as being the cause.

Life and Death: Bioethics as crypto-eugenics [video]

Boiling Frogs Video
April 3, 2012

As more and more increasingly outrageous headlines begin to gain notoriety among the general public–Newsweek making the case for killing granny, for example, or the recent widespread coverage of an article in the Journal of Medical Ethics promoting infanticide–many are only beginning to realize what the authors of the “after-birth abortion” paper admitted in such a blase fashion in the open letter they used to defend their proposal: these debates have been going on in the bioethics community for 40 years. They are only now arriving as a type of fait accompli to be digested by the public.

Vaccine study admits that PFCs and fluoride compounds suppress immune system

vaccineBy Alexander Frantznis

(NaturalNews) Though widely heralded for promoting immunity, vaccine recipients often receive the very diseases for which they were vaccinated. Pondering this conundrum, vaccine researchers have cleverly managed to identify factors independent of the vaccines themselves to account for the failure.

A just-published study from the Harvard School of Public Health focused on the potential for environmental pollution to inhibit vaccine efficacy. While previous research has hinted at the possibility for these toxins reducing vaccine immunity (the long-maligned PCBs a frequent culprit), this study focused on PFCs. Their results produced a startling admission.

Six-hundred children living on the Faroe Islands had their blood PFC levels measured, then their reactions to tetanus and diphtheria vaccines tested. Children with the highest PFC levels had a 50% lower vaccine reaction. In other words, the immune response was halved for children with a high but nonetheless naturally occurring level of PFC toxicity. That is huge.

To quote study author Dr. Philippe Grandjean, “Previous studies have suggested that vaccine effectiveness may be reduced by other chemicals, like PCBs, but with PFCs we saw a much steeper effect, and this was surprising to us.”

Next to fluoride directly added to the water as the industrial waste byproduct of hydrofluorosillic acid, perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), are the most common environmental source of fluoride exposure. Made by replacing the hydrogen in a hydrocarbon chain with fluoride, PFCs were originally developed as a coating to prevent uranium hexafluoride gas from dissolving piping used for pre-centrifuge uranium enrichment in the Manhattan project.

PFCs form a slick water, oil and stain resistant surface, with many industrial applications ranging from Gore-Tex raincoats to Scotchgard tape, to its best know application, Teflon non-stick cookware. Since inception, numerous allegations of PFC and Teflon toxicity have been raised but in turn ignored by the scientific community.

Teflon, for instance, when heated for cooking, is known to offgas and kill pet birds in the vicinity by hemorrhaging their lungs.

Equally, concerns have been raised over its persistency in the environment. PFCs’ “beneficial” artificial properties also prevent them from being able to degrade naturally. As a result, they have steadily been building up in the environment. As fish are a common source of bio-accumulation toxins including this one, the Faroe Island children were a likely choice to study.

These results strongly suggest focusing on what is hindering the immune system rather than trying to artificially bolster it may be a very productive future line of research. Previous trials, for instance, have found the commonly prescribed drug acetaminophen (Tylenol) reduced the infant response to vaccinations, leading to doctors no longer prescribe it for infants prior to immunization.

It is well known in the natural medicine field that chronic toxicity disrupts the immune system, a problem getting worse and worse as the years go by. This is why detoxification cleanses are so effective for treating a wide range of conditions. Perhaps this research will help lead to a new focus in immunological research.

Or perhaps it will help the movement to outlaw Fluoride and its byproducts. Citing harsh toxicology data, the Environmental Working Group sponsored a bill in 2008 to outlaw PFCs in California food packing. Unfortunately at the chemical industry’s behest, Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed the bill. Had it passed, a few vaccines might have even worked!

Disclaimer: Scientists have already disputed the findings demonstrating a link between PFCs and vaccine efficacy.

Breaking: Fluoride Linked to #1 Cause of Death in New Research

By Anthony Gucciardi

January 17, 2012

fluoridecardiovasculardisease 210x131 Breaking: Fluoride Linked to #1 Cause of Death in New ResearchGroundbreaking new research has linked sodium fluoride to cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death worldwide. Researchers found that fluoride consumption directly stimulates the hardening of your arteries, a condition known as atherosclerosis that is highly correlated with the #1 killer. Sodium fluoride is currently added to the water supply of many cities worldwide, despite extreme opposition from health professionals and previous studies linking it to decreased IQ and infertility.

In their research, scientists examined the relationship between fluoride intake and the hardening (calcification) of the arteries. Studying more than 60 patients, the researchers found a significant correlation between fluoride consumption and the calcification of your arteries. Published in the January edition of the journal Nuclear Medicine Communications, the research highlights the fact that mass fluoride exposure may be to blame for the cardiovascular disease epidemic that takes more lives each year than cancer. In 2008, cardiovascular killed 17 million people.

Officials Say ‘Toilet on Tap’ Wastewater Same Quality as Tap Water

by Mike Barrett

January 13, 2012

bathroomtoilet 210x131 Officials Say Toilet on Tap Wastewater Same Quality as Tap WaterDo you think it might be possible that you’re drinking wastewater (also known as ‘toilet on tap’) and don’t even know it? It just so happens that many Americans are, whether they know it or not. But new federally funded research brought to you by the National Research Council says that wastewater is completely safe, if not safer than existing water supplies. What does this say about the current state of your tap water?

Drink More Wastewater, NRC Says

The NRC compared a sample of water taken from a normal source which had 5 percent wastewater and a sample which had been completely treated. Around 24 different contaminants were measured for in both samples, including pathogens. What the NRC found was that there was no different in risk between the two samples, and that the wastewater sample had fewer pathogens. Interestingly enough the NRC’s stance on consuming wastewater has completely changed from a little more than 1 decade ago, where they said that treated wastewater should only be consumed as a last resort.

The driving force behind the goal of the study is of course saving the water supply. As we continue to pollute our waters, less fresh water is becoming available for us to drink. More rivers, lakes, and underground aquifers are drying up as the years pass. As bodies of water around the world continue to dry up, we’re seeing more drought conditions spread. There are dust storms in places which have never experienced them until now. As time goes by, the amount of agricultural land shrinks, and deserts are growing.

Coming up with strategies to combat the potential clean water shortage that could soon be coming is a necessary measure to take. The United States alone uses about 148 trillion gallons of fresh water each year, and 36 U.S. states are either facing water shortages right now or will soon be.

Wastewater and Even ‘Normal’ Water is Not Safe for Your Health

However consuming even treated wastewater should not be an option for those seeking optimal wellness. Even if the wastewater is as safe as normal drinking water, it is still not safe – and neither is normal drinking water. Water contains pharmaceuticals, birth control residues, sucralose, chlorine, and all types of harmful substances. In fact, the fluoride in the water is damaging your health and may even be lowering your IQ along with contributing to cancer. Unfortunately turning to bottled water is not such a viable option either, where you pay 2000x more than you normally would for mystery water.

A solution to these problems? A water filter or reverse osmosis water filtration system. When filtering tap water, reverse osmosis is one preferred method in removing toxic substances such as fluoride and heavy metals. It does, however, also remove natural minerals and nutrients. Luckily a simple solution to this would be to add certain minerals to the water Use a mineral filter, himalayan sea salt, or even add apple cider vinegar to restore the natural nutrients back into the water.

Agenda 21, Your Sewage and You

By Kim M
The Intel Hub

December 30, 2011

Apparently the little, podunky town of Cambria, California isn’t the only one with sewage problems?

In an article titled, “US cities struggle to control sewer overflows,” the Associated Press (AP) recently reported that:

“Thousands of overflows from sewage systems that collect storm water and wastewater are believed to occur each year… Since the late 1990s the Environmental Protection Agency or state officials have reached legal agreements with more than 40 cities or counties… to improve wastewater systems that in some cases are a century old.”

Indeed, a scan through recent headlines reveals:

Daytona Beach facing sewage problems

October 23, 2011: Daytona Beach News-Journal says that their sewage system has “become a concern for city officials who say the city’s pumps and underground piping system that handle waste are getting overloaded when six-figure crowds jam into Daytona International Speedway and businesses near the track…. If nothing is done, not only could toilets overflow, but future expansion in a key area of the city could come to a halt.”

Sewage problems plague Walker woman

December 2, 2011: WAFB ran a story about a woman in Walker, Louisiana who’s “had problems with her sewage three times, even having to renovate her home because of back flow…. ‘Sewage started coming up the toilets, through bathtub and couldn’t stop it,’ [Alicia Cheplick] said.”

State Probes Willard Sewage Problems

December 2, 2011: KOAT7 reports that residents in Willard, New Mexico “have been dealing with faulty septic lines for the past decade, and now sewage is bubbling over in homes and yards.”

And, in almost a comedy of errors, the San Luis Obispo Tribune just reported that Cambria’s 10,000-gallon sewage spill was due to a circuit breaker blowing, some pumps being underwater, the main gate not opening, the emergency generator not coming on and the alarm system’s backup battery being dead. Ba-dum-bump.

And those are just some of the recent problems.

But, never fear, the federal government is here with “green infrastructure” mandates. You may have missed it, but the AP article casually mentioned that the EPA is striking deals with cities and counties across the nation to “improve wastewater systems.”

And how did the EPA get the authority to make “legal agreements” directly with municipalities?

Good question. I’m still trying to figure that one out myself… Sounds like a case of federal encroachment on states’ rights to me? But I digress.

What I have been able to discern, however, is that the 1972 Clean Water Act allowed the federal EPA to authorize state EPAs to issue permits to municipalities discharging pollutants into bodies of water. Yup. You heard that right: Permission to pollute (to certain standards, of course).

The ’72 act also introduced a financing program (in the form of grants) for the construction of sewage treatment plants… Which may be the exact point at which the federal government began reaching its grubby hands directly into the sewage affairs of every participating city and county? (Because you know that wherever there’s federal money, there’s federal strings attached.)

Enter the so-called “green agenda” (aka Agenda 21) and a gaggle of agencies, programs, mumbo jumbo and a bunch of other things you’ve never heard of.

Long story short, in 1992 President Bush Sr. signed onto a grandiose United Nations [UN] environmental program called Agenda 21.

In 2007, President Bush Jr. signed an Executive Order (13423) which gave the thing teeth…

And, this year (2011), President Obama signed Executive Order 13575, which gave it claws.

Oh, they just want to regulate everything you do from stem to stern and mostly stern.

And, if you don’t believe it, just check out the FedCenter’s page on “Sustainability…” Agenda 21 is mentioned a total of five times. (Press: Control+F. Type: Agenda 21. And, if you have Firefox, click: “Highlight all” and scroll down the page to read it and weep.) How’s that for hiding it in plain sight?

So much for top-down control.

Make way for down-out control.

That is, to make sure everything trickles down OK, the UN also created an agency called ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives) to make sure that Agenda 21 gets implemented on the local level.

Call it “greasing the skids,” if you will.

But let’s hear Mary Pattenden, ICLEI Director of Development, tell it in her own words:

“In 1992, world leaders gathered in Brazil at the United Nations Earth Summit and adopted Agenda 21, a global action plan for sustainable development. They also called on local authorities in each country to undertake a consultative process with their residents to establish a local version of Agenda 21 for their communities. Since then, the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives has been working with local governments to develop methodologies and tools for Local Agenda 21 planning.”

She said it so nicely, didn’t she? So slick (as snot), it could fly right past you. ‘Cause what she really meant by “local governments” was: Your Town. Your City. Your County.

Plain English version: Your local bureaucrats sign onto ICLEI (without even telling you) and they (without anyone even twisting their arms) implement Agenda 21 (without even questioning).

How’s that for bypassing the normal democratic process?

Why bother with passing pesky laws which pesky people might object to, when you can get boots on the ground to just DO whatever you want them to do?

Btw, this is why you see the exact same initiatives being implemented across the globe at the exact same time. It’s not a coincidence. The UN is running the whole she-bang.

And now you’re probably wondering why you should even give a sh*t?

Because the UN cares about your sh*t. They care a really, really lot. They care so much they wrote a “Section II” of the Agenda 21 agenda called “Environmentally Sound Management of Solid Wastes and Sewage-Related Issues.”

You will note that it is written like law. Frighteningly similar.

And why not?

Because if the UN can get everyone in the world to abide by their lengthy list of rules and regulations (which they already are; while you were sleeping), then they become DE FACTO law. And if Agenda 21 becomes de facto law, then guess who becomes de facto government?

Because you can’t have a body of law (Agenda 21) without a governing body (the UN) and a body to govern (you).

And you thought you didn’t give a sh*t about the UN.
