VIDEO — Spectacular fireball from space explodes over Russian city

A suspected meteorite explosion has been recorded by citizens of the northern Russian city of Murmansk.

Multiple drivers with dashcams out on the streets of the 300,000-people city at 2.10am on Saturday noticed a bright blue trail speed across the night sky, then explode while still in the air.

Most observers identified the object as a meteorite, though officials have neither confirmed it nor said where the fragments are likely to have landed. Others speculated that the object may have been space debris, re-entering the atmosphere.

Emergency services say there were no injuries as a result of the astral event.

While tens of tons of cosmic dust reaches the Earth’s atmosphere each day, the number of meteorites that reach the surface may be about 500 a year, though most are small, and scientists do not have a precise calculation.

The most spectacular meteorite of recent years was over the Urals city of Chelyabinsk last year, when an astral body exploded in the sky with the strength of 40 Hiroshima bombs, temporarily blinding and deafening hundreds of people below.

More than half of L.A.’s medical pot shops have closed

Susan Sanchez/LA Weekly.

Earlier this month we got the 2013 numbers for how many marijuana dispensaries in the city of L.A. have filed to pay a special city collective tax. It reflects how many weed retailers are in L.A. And it was higher than any other number we had seen in nearly five years: 1,140. This despite repeated city crackdowns and a new law, passed last year, that limits the number of shops in town to the 135 or fewer that were legit during a 2007 city “moratorium.”

Well, it looks that the law, Proposition D., and the efforts of L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer, who has made legal moves against dozens of stores, are having an amazing effect: Numbers unveiled by the city Department of Finance this week show that so far only 462 business tax renewals have been filed for “L050” businesses in 2014 – aka collectives – a finance official told us.

VIDEO — Oath Keepers Site Taken Offline after New Call to Stand at Bundy Ranch

Truthstream Media
Apr 16, 2014

*UPDATE*: A brand new message sent out by Stewart Rhodes as we were writing this says that the OathKeepers.org server, along with thousands of others, went down this morning caused by a problem at the data center that houses their site, and in the meantime, they are using an alternative site at oath-keepers.blogspot.com.

After sending out a new call to action and renewed call for all Oath Keepers to stand watch at the Bundy Ranch, the site OathKeepers.org has been taken offline.

In the urgent message, Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes wrote:

“NOTE: First, at the moment things are quiet here. 99% of the rumors on the internet are either blatantly false or wildly inaccurate. No strong presence of federal agents has been seen. Remnants of BLM’s recent sojourn here are still present, such as the lights they had put up at their “field-headquarters” and no doubt we are under surveillance of all kinds, but there is no overt, visible massing of federal law enforcement.

We are, however concerned that the domestic enemies of the Constitution that infest the federal government might try to take advantage of folks going home, and attempt to make a move on the Bundy family. We feel certain that they will want to try again at some point, perhaps in a different way, even perhaps by executing a dynamic entry raid to attempt to arrest the Bundys. And we have heard that this is being discussed, though I have not been able to directly confirm it. But it is a real risk.

Therefore, to prevent such a raid, or to at least throw a monkey wrench into any such plans and make it more difficult for them, we’re doing the following:

1: We are calling on all Oath Keepers who can possibly get here to come to the Bundy Ranch to serve as volunteers on an ongoing, rotating watch. That is not because there is any great emergency, but is a preventative measure – sort of like doing a rotation on the DMZ.

2: A rotating vigil of state legislators and current serving sheriffs at the ranch. This second part of our plan is a continuation of what we’ve already been doing. Oath Keepers helped facilitate a number of legislators from several Western States traveling to the Bundy Ranch this past week. Sheriff Mack’s Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA.org) helped ensure that some real-deal constitutional Sheriffs were also present on the side of the Bundy family.”

The timing of site’s take down is curious to say the least considering it falls not only on the heels of the Oath Keepers newest call to action, but also on news spilling out all over the place that there are mass graves for the Bundy’s cows killed by BLM and Senator Harry Reid’s corrupt multi-billion-dollar dealings with Chinese energy companies over the real reason they want the Bundy’s off that Nevada land in short order.

There are people concerned the situation unfolding out there could turn into the next Ruby Ridge or Waco Siege; however, those happened back in the pre-Internet days, when the government and its puppet media could more easily shape the narrative however they wanted to. Now we have instant communication and when it comes to a situation like this, where the government is trying to run amok all over the Constitution, We the People have to keep talking.

Legal Canadian medical marijuana producer has shipment seized by mounties

Toke of the Town
Apr 7, 2014

canada-flag.image-large.gifDespite having approval from Health Canada, Tweed Marijuana says a shipment of herb grown by private B.C. growers previously licensed to grow cannabis was seized by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police over the weekend.

All of this after Tweed invited the mounties to examine the shipment. Only in Canada are people nice enough to invite the police over to check out their quasi-legal operations.

“We felt everything was done absolutely correctly,” Tweed chairman Bruce Linton told the National Post. “When you call police to say, ‘Come look at this,’ you believe you have everything in order.”

Tweed made headlines late last week as the first publically traded pot company in Canada. The group is one of the dozen that are legally allowed to produce and distribute cannabis under new government laws. The cannabis they were purchasing was produced under the old laws, which allowed for a caregiver-patient system similar to many U.S. states.

For their part, the RMCP isn’t saying anything. It’s their policy to not comment on ongoing investigations. Though, really, there’s not much to investigate. Again, this is Canada and everyone is being really nice and up-front about everything.

Growers licensed under the old system were able to sell off “starting materials” like clones, seeds and immature plants to the new, big, government-licensed grows.

Apparently, Tweed saw such a demand for products, however, that they asked the Health Department for a waiver to purchase actual bud. They got it, and thought everything was okay. Until last Monday, that is.

Linton says they had the police check out the shipment in part to be transparent, but also in part to protect the goods.

Part of the confusion comes from the ever-changing rules. Lawsuits have been filed in part to keep home cultivation in place, and there have been several changed deadlines for transferring materials.
