On Oct. 29 2012 the former president of Russia, Mikhail Gorbachev was awarded the key to the city. In Winnipeg.
According to CBC
“Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz presented a key to the city to former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev and Free The Children ambassador Spencer West. Mayor Katz also thanked Gorbachev and West for their positive action in the world.
“They come from opposite sides of the world, but they have a common lesson to teach – a lesson about human dignity and possibility,” Mayor Katz said in a news release.
Gorbachev and West are speaking at We Day on Tuesday. The event is held to encuorage young people to lead change at home and around the world.
Gorbachev was awarded the Nobel peace award in 1990 for his achievements in international relations. He continues to work for the Gorbachev Foundation and Green Cross International.”

Gorbachev’s Nobel peace price and now the city of Winnipeg award of the “key to the city” (among many other awards) rank as equivalent and as laughable, as Barrack Obama’s peace prize in my opinion.
Gorbachev played a key role in the communist government or Russia from the 1970′s until the early 1990′s. The communist Russian government was labeled as being a “Evil Empire”. This term was first put forth by former American president Ronald Regan.
Michael Johns, writing for The Heritage Foundation’s Policy Review magazine, prominently supported Reagan’s assertion. In “Seventy Years of Evil: Soviet Crimes from Vladimir Lenin to Gorbachev,” Johns cited 208 acts by the Soviet Union that, he argued, demonstrated the Soviet leadership’s evil inclinations. Both Yuri Maltsev (a high-ranking economist in the Soviet Union under Mikhail Gorbachev during the 1980s) and Andrey Kozyrev (former head of the Soviet Foreign Ministry) agreed that the term “evil empire” was an accurate way to describe the Soviet governance.
After leaving office, Gorbachev founded an organization called The Green Cross. The green cross mission statement is as follows.
The mission of Green Cross International is to respond to the combined challenges of security, poverty and environmental degradation to ensure a sustainable and secure future. We seek solutions through dialogue, mediation and co-operation. To achieve this we:
– Promote legal, ethical and behavioural norms that ensure basic changes in the values, actions and attitudes of government, the private sector and civil society, necessary to develop a sustainable global community;
– Contribute to the prevention and resolution of conflicts arising from environmental degradation;
– Provide assistance to people affected by the environmental consequences of wars, conflicts and man made calamities.

The green cross has played a vital role in Agenda 21 and the green movement.
The Earth Charter
Shortly after the Earth Summit concluded Strong formed the Earth Council, a group of “environmental visionaries and philosophers”, and set about drafting this “new global covenant”. Various draft versions were formulated but the radical and transformative nature of the document met with resistance from more conservative members of the UN bureaucracy. In 1997, the Earth Council and Green Cross International, founded by Mikhail Gorbachev, joined forces to form the Earth Charter Commission. The Commission, co-chaired by Strong and Gorbachev, claims to have consulted more than 100,000 “concerned world citizens” around the globe. The twenty-three members of the Commission, which includes nine Club of Rome members, claim to have “mediated prayerfully over every word and comma”. I wonder who they were praying too?
The Earth Charter Commission approved the final text of the Earth Charter in 2000, and it has since been embraced by the United Nations, many religious leaders around the world, the majority of world governments and countless Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) and activist groups. Following the release of the Charter a series of international forums, called The Earth Dialogues were held at the United Nations to discuss how the general public could be convinced to adopt the “covenant with the Earth” in a real and personal way.

Quite simply a man who took part and was leader of a government that was labeled as an evil empire, and has been working to create a global government, depopulation, and total dictatorial control through the green movement. Being given these awards is outlandish to say the least! If I was a resident of Winnipeg, well lets just say that I would not be a happy camper in the slightest.

Early morning earthquake shakes Ottawa region
by Tom Spears
The Ottawa Citizen
November 6, 2012
BUCKINGHAM — An earthquake that rattled homes and shook people awake at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday was stronger than average for this region, but still too weak to do damage.
Natural Resources Canada said the earthquake was centred near Buckingham, Quebec, and was a magnitude 4.2, compared to many small rumbles this region gets in the range of magnitudes 2 or 3.
The U.S. Geological Survey has a slightly weaker estimate of 3.7, and says the location was southwest of Hawkesbury.
Both institutions were giving early estimates only and these are subject to being refined as they see more data, including reports from people nearby.
Counter Terrorism Drill Takes Over Downtown Hamilton [videos included]

Late yesterday evening I received a text message asking what was happening with the military downtown. Not being aware of what my friend was talking about, I jumped on the computer and sure enough this is what I found.
cknw.com
“Helicopters from the Special Ops Aviation Squadron will be conducting low altitude training around the Stelco Tower on King Street West.
The drills are for counterterrorism training.
The squad is part of the Canadian special operations force and in addition to counterterrorism it provides armed assistance to other government departments. ”
This is not the first time our military has used the downtown of a city for this training.
Military exercise in downtown Windsor
By the admission of the spokesperson in the video from Windsor, these exercises are for “if we need to support local law enforcement or respond to some kind of a security incident in a high rise building”. This is not training for “over seas” counter terrorism. This is training to suppress Canadians in Canadian cities!
Here is some raw footage from the first night of the drills in Hamilton.
According to thespec.com
“Ward 2 Coun. Jason Farr is demanding the training stop after he received complaints from downtown residents.
The squadron says residents should not be alarmed as the training has been co-ordinated with the city, aviation authorities and the owners of Stelco Tower.
However, Farr said no consultation took place with either him, downtown residents or businesses in the area until late Tuesday afternoon.
“This flawed process has created great angst for seniors and young families, all of which could have been avoided with public consultation,” he said. “In light of what has clearly established itself as an unacceptable noise issue I have made a request to our Chief of Police that this operation be aborted immediately.”
I personally do not think the drills will be aborted. So I will be on location again tonight. Stayed tuned for a detailed report once everything has finished.
Canada Bleeding Private Jobs, Vancouver Home Sales Plunge 16.7 Percent: Crash Awaits

globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.ca
The Financial Post has an interesting story on the state of the Canadian jobs market. It seem over 100% of job growth is from government jobs.
Please consider Employment numbers hide the fact Canada is bleeding private sector jobs
Canada may have added 1,800 jobs in October, but that number hides the fact that almost all the gains came from government and that the private sector lost more than 20,000 jobs.
The 1,800 jobs added was already a disappointment compared with the 10,000 economists had forecast. According to Statistics Canada, that left the unemployment rate unchanged at 7.4%.
The six-month average for jobs gains is now 29,400, according to Reuters. But it’s a very different story when you look at the private sector and public sector separately.
“Details of the report were much worse than the headline number with the private sector showing a loss of 21,000 in October, the fourth decline in six months,” said Matthieu Arseneau, senior economist with the National Bank of Canada. “Over the period, the private sector is actually showing a loss of 12,000 jobs, compared to a surge of 76,000 jobs in the public sector.”
“With earnings of TSX companies down 30% so far in the third quarter, we do not expect a hiring spree anytime soon,” he said.
It is good to see a realistic comments from analysts. Matthieu Arseneau, is spot on with his comments.
Vancouver Home Sales Plunge 16.7 Percent
The Globe and Mail reports Vancouver home prices sink 3.4% from peak as sales plunge
Home sales in the Vancouver area plunged 16.7 per cent in October from a year earlier, though picked up markedly from September.
In an indication of how that market’s performing, sales were 28.5 per cent below a 10-year October sales average of 2,700, the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver said today, while the composite benchmark price for residential properties is down 3.4 per cent from its peak of $625,100 in May.
Along with Toronto, Vancouver has been a worry spot for observers. The country’s housing market has cooled notably since the latest round of government efforts to tighten the mortgage market, though most economists don’t envision a meltdown.
Economists never envision a meltdown. But a massive meltdown is coming anyway. I must admit the pool of greater fools in Vancouver and Toronto was far, far bigger than I thought possible, but at long last the pool seems to have dried up. A crash awaits.
Masked Protest And Criminalizing Dissent [video]

Bill C-309 has passed the house and is on it’s way to the Senate to be made into law. Under this bill police would have the ability to arrest anyone who chooses to remain anonymous while attending an “unlawful assembly”. The criminalization of dissent is underway but this will not deter the Canadian people from having our voices heard.
Ottawa’s new law banning masks goes too far

Are You Feeling Safe Yet?
Canadian Awareness Network
October 24, 2012
CCTV cameras, drones, smart grid spying technology, online surveillance, and massive police budgets not making you feel safe? Do not fret! The Canadian government is putting in over time to ensure that you can rest easy!
According to sunnewsnetwork.ca:
“Armed US border guards may soon be on Canadian soil in Fort Erie, ON, pre-inspecting commercial vehicles before they cross the Peace Bridge into America.
While details have not yet been determined, that’s one of the options being considered in a preliminary agreement that has been worked out between Canada and the U.S. to speed up traffic across the Peace Bridge.
The pilot agreement was announced earlier this week by New York Sen. Charles Schumer after year-long negotiations involving the U. S. Department of Homeland Security and its Canadian counterpart, Public Safety Canada.
The Peace Bridge and another unnamed international crossing will be the scene of the pilot project that begins in late December and will run for 18 months.
Schumer called the pilot program a two-way victory for both countries because it will speed up traffic across the bridge.”
In addition to the above listed programs we are also going to have a foreign law enforcement agency operating on Canadian soil, come December. I know what you all must be thinking. That added security and convenience, WOW! How could we go wrong?
I mean foreign law enforcement operating on Canadian soil may be a loss of sovereignty, it may be seen as a step towards the two nations “merging”, it may be classified as a turn towards a police state. But reduced wait times at the border are worth it! No?
That extra security is worth it no? I mean the TSA in America is doing such a bang up job, what do we have to worry about?
We have had so many terrorist attacks here in Canada and along our border. How could we say no to this?
