Holder: Assassination of American Citizens May Be Necessary [video]

President Barack Obama has the legal authority to unleash deadly force—such as drone strikes—against Americans on U.S. soil without first putting them on trial, Attorney General Eric Holder wrote in a letter released Tuesday.

In other words, President Obama can assassinate an American citizen without a charge, and without a trial…on U.S. soil.

The flame of liberty is burning ever hotter…

Representative Nicholas Schwaderer who worked hard behind the scenes to get a bipartisan group of legislators to cosponsor – 18 republicans and 6 democrats. In presenting the bill on its 2nd reading yesterday, Schwaderer said his motivation to introduce the bill was to get something done, and not just make a statement.

“I thought, how can we deal with this and not have it be some kind of letter to Santa Claus?”

He also noted that the bill brought together a wide coalition of support from around the political spectrum.

“This bill has the coolest spread of sponsors signed on. A lot of people support of the bill that would be opposing each other. I urge a big ole green on this one!”

Through the tireless efforts of national activist groups such as The Tenth Amendment Center, People Against the NDAA, and People’s Blog for The Constitution working with local grassroots organizations, states rights issues are receiving the widest  support in nearly a decade. Please visit the aforementioned links to keep up to date on action items and to donate if you are able.

Action to Take in Montana

Next up for HB522 is to be assigned to a committee for consideration in the State Senate. Bills move fast in the short legislative session, so your support is needed right now.

1. Contact your state senator. Strongly, but respectfully, urge him or her to vote YES on HB522. Let them know that you see “indefinite detention” as a direct attack on your liberty and on the Constitution.

The Twin Towers For Purim

Purim has begun, and just like with Halloween, children around the world are proudly parading around in their inventive costumes.

This is one of the best times of year for our youngin’s- dressing up, going to parties, playing with friends, and playing make-believe… but what about the poor kids that are used as models for their parents distasteful creative endeavors?

Enter Ilay and Nehaoray, seven-year-old twins from Israel whose parents “playfully” decided to dress their children up in famous twin costumes: the Twin Towers. Not only are the kids dressed as the famous New York City buildings, they are fashioning the structures while on fire… with the planes sticking out of the side right near the children’s eye holes.

Popular news website Ynet originally posted the image, with the headline “Twin Towers and other costumes this Purim.” After several commenters remarked about how the title was almost as distasteful as the costume itself, the publication chose to remove it…

San Francisco Board of Supervisors Unanimously Rejects NDAA

March 5, 2013

From the Bill of Rights Defense Committee:

February 26, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution opposing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) provisions on indefinite military detention. The resolution was endorsed by 27 community organizations, including, but not limited to, Japanese-American community groups, faith leaders, anti-war activists, labor unions, and Arab and Muslim organizations.

The “Resolution expressing opposition to the indefinite detention provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act” protects the civil liberties of all San Francisco residents by emphasizing that the Constitution and Bill of Rights:

reflect the essential nature of presumed innocence, the right to a speedy public trial before an impartial jury, and other elements of effective due process, reflect our shared commitment that no person will be exposed to cruel and unusual punishment.

It also creates a policy that all San Francisco public agencies will uphold civil liberties by:

instruct[ing] all our public agencies to decline requests by federal agencies acting under detention powers granted by the NDAA or any authorization of force, that could infringe upon residents’ freedom of speech, religion, assembly, privacy, or rights to counsel…

The introduction of the resolution against NDAA on February 19 was timed to honor the anniversary of Executive Order 9066, which is also a Day of Remembrance in the State of California. Executive Order 9066 authorized the U.S. military to remove Japanese-Americans from areas on the West Coast considered to be “military areas.”  Over 120,000 Japanese-Americans, as well as some Italian and German-Americans, were forced to internment camps.

Supervisor David Chiu, who introduced the bill, commented following last night’s vote:

I am proud that the Board of Supervisors has passed my resolution calling on Congress to repeal the indefinite detention provisions of the NDAA. Indefinite detention violates our civil liberties, repeats the injustices of the past and undermines the very foundation of our democracy. I hope Congress will heed this call and take immediate action.

BORDC’s Nadia Kayyali also commented on the victory:

With this vote, San Francisco has confirmed its place as a leader in the national effort to preserve the constitutional rights threatened by over broad national security policy. As the proliferation of state and local bills continues, it is becoming clear that local governments will not be complicit in the erosion of our rights.

San Francisco has now joined a growing national movement, as the 18th city to pass a resolution opposing the NDAA.

In Focus: Kenya on the brink [video]

PressTV
March 4, 2013

IMF food subsidy cuts, import-dependent staple food, an independence movement by Muslims in Mombasa and many more, has put Kenya in serious trouble. Hunger speculators lead by financial terrorists such as Goldman Sachs are using the drought in the USA, the world’s largest producer of maize and corn, to drive prices to what are predicted to be record levels, more than doubling by early 2013. This forces Kenya’s imported maize dependent population’s malnutrition rate into meltdown status. It was record food prices that triggered the “Arab Spring” in Tunisia and Egypt and Kenya stands on the brink of a similar explosion.

The US instigated Kenya’s criminally foolhardy invasion of Somalia and has landed the Kenyan military, an ill-disciplined, brutal and corrupt band of uniformed hoodlums, in a quagmire that is spreading the flames of rebellion throughout Kenya’s north eastern Somali population. “Riots” and “terrorist attacks on police” are taking place mainly in the port city of Mombassa, home to a simmering independence movement amongst the long marginalized Muslim population. On this week’s INFocus, we discuss if Kenya will see a civil war splinter the country in 2013.

Quickest Way to Kill 3D Printing – Get the Government Involved

by Tony Cartalucci
Land Destroyer

February 14, 2013 (LocalOrg) – The US State of the Union speech made by US President Barack Obama excited many across the tech community. Obama mentioned 3D printing as one of several emerging technologies that might help revitalize US industry.

Image: A screenshot taken from the “enhanced broadcast” of President Obama’s State of the Union speech. Seen napping and slumped in their seats, are the vanguards of corporate special interests, ever ready in bi-partisan fashion to betray their voters in the service of big-business special interests, and who, along with whoever occupies the Oval Office, are the cause of America’s decline in the first place.

….
Aaron Swartz protesting SOPA. (Demand Progress)

Unfortunately, what many in the tech community seem not to realize, or have forgotten in their moment of presidential aggrandizing, is that Obama represents bi-partisan servitude to corporate-financier interests, the very interests that off-shored the planet’s most advanced and capable manufacturing base in human history in the first place. They also seem to have quickly forgotten that additionally, Obama represents the same big-business interests that hounded one of the tech community’s own, Aaron Swartz, literally to death in an intellectual property witch-hunt that allegedly drove Swartz to commit suicide.

Indeed, corporate-financier interests realize the threats and opportunities 3D printing represent, and like P2P file sharing, are eager to co-opt, control, monopolize, and regulate this emerging industry to maintain the technological and socioeconomic disparity they have benefited from for so long. The establishment is relying on an old trick, the manipulation of human weakness – the need for recognition, and the prospect of fame and fortune.

And surely, those who sellout to special interests as they attempt to wrap their tentacles around 3D printing, may just achieve fame and fortune – but the promise of 3D printing will almost certainly suffer because of it. While it may seem exciting to have the US President mention you during the State of the Union address, it is in fact a warning sign that you have attracted the attention of the very interests that have destroyed this country in the first place, and have left it in need to be “revitalized” in the first place.

Obama’s mention of 3D printing is akin to the buzzing of a parasitic mosquito’s wings before it lands, with its hungry, ever-searching proboscis preparing to bury itself inside its host and begin to feed. It is a warning, not a ray of light. It is a reaffirmation of the gravity this emerging technology holds and the responsibility that falls upon those in the tech community to protect it, keep it open, independent, free of the meddling of big-business and their political proxies, and instead, in the service of humanity.
