New evidence chemotherapy for breast cancer causes brain damage

(NaturalNews) Primary breast cancer (meaning a breast malignancy that hasn’t spread to other parts of the body) isn’t usually thought of as causing neurological problems. After all, if cancer hasn’t spread to the brain, why would it? Researchers have been forced to wonder about the answer to that question because a growing body of evidence over the past several years strongly suggests that women with breast cancer are at increased risk for not only problems with brain function but with actual alterations in their brain structure, too.
It turns out, according to a report just published in the November issue of the Archives of Neurology, that it’s not the cancer but the treatment for breast cancer — specifically chemotherapy — that could be causing a significant amount of the neurological impairment with poor outcomes seen in women with breast cancer.

Very low levels of radioactive iodine-131 have been detected throughout Europe, but the particles are not believed to pose a public health risk, the U.N.nuclear agency said on Friday.
NASA have released images of 2,400 stars, known as the Tarantula Nebula, that are producing intense radiation and powerful winds, believed to be the cause for the detection in the atmosphere
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Vienna-based U.N. watchdog, said it did not believe the radioactive particles were from Japan’s stricken Fukushima nuclear power plant after its emergency in March.
Professor Malcolm Sperrin, director of medical physics at Britain’s Royal Berkshire Hospital, said any link with Fukushima was extremely unlikely. ’It is far more likely that the iodine may be as a result of excretion by patients undergoing medical treatment.

Transparent carbon nanotube sheets are fulfilling the promise of invisibility. Ali Aliev is a University of Texas scientist that uses the carbon nanotubes to bend surface light around an object, producing a mirage effect that can hide physical objects. While this is being announced as current research, the military has already long been experimenting with similar cloaking devices as well as nano-enhanced hybrids for both invisibility and body armor. The U.S. scientific community is fully supported by the government by itsNational Nanotechnology Initiative 2011 Strategic Plan to exploit nanotech to the fullest extent. Demonstrations like the one below are meant to introduce the “coolness” of it all. Indeed nanotechnology is interesting and mind blowing, but we would be wise to also learn about the other applications that the government is working on in the areas of surveillance, data control, and human movement so that we can urge those discovering the capabilities of nanotech to use it for the betterment of mankind, not for military weaponry and citizen enslavement.

NOAA Warns of Monster Solar Storm Region Facing Earth for Next Two Weeks; Fully Capable of Producing X-Class Flares

Last Thursday the sun produced an X1.9 rated solar flare that narrowly missed Earth. Although it wasn’t aimed directly at us, about 45 minutes after leaving the sun it was still powerful enough to disrupt radio communications.
Now, that same area responsible for producing the X-class flare may pose a direct threat to Earth.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center says that the region on the sun known as AR11339 and affectionately called the “Benevolent Monster” will set its sights on Earth.
It will move into a position that poses the largest risk to our planet around November 9th, 2011 and remain on a direct line of sight with earth for the following two (2) weeks as it rotates:

Fructose, a staple in the diet of many Americans, is continually being pegged by scientific research as a significant player in the development and spread of cancer.
Furthermore, a growing number of studies are finding fructose, and the processed foods in which it is contained, to be as addictive as cocaine.
With highly-popular fructose tied to obesity and cancer growth, is it any wonder that the health of American citizens is in decline?
One new study, published in the Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Targets, analyzed the link between refined sugar consumption and cancer. What the researchers found was that excess fructose consumption can actually damage the body in a number of ways beyond the development of cancer, including:
- DNA damage
- Inflammation
- Altered cellular metabolism
- Increased production of free radicals
Research published in the journal Cancer Research reached similar conclusions, finding that the way in which sugar is metabolized stimulates cancer growth. Even more concerning is the fact that the scientists performed the study using cells from one of the deadliest forms of cancer – pancreatic cancer. The researchers reported:
Importantly, fructose and glucose metabolism are quite different … These findings show that cancer cells can readily metabolize fructose to increase proliferation.
As if the carcinogenic nature of fructose wasn’t threatening enough, 50 percent of high-fructose corn syrup has actually been found to contain toxic mercury.
The negative effects of excess fructose – particularly high-fructose corn syrup – are clear, so why would anyone willingly choose to consume heavy amounts of fructose on a daily basis? Well, besides the fact that many individuals are unaware of the adverse health consequences, people are routinely consuming significant amounts of fructose due to it being highly addictive.

In fact, a large body of research is threatening the structural integrity of the $1 trillion food and beverage industry by revealing just how addictive fructose can be. Food addiction is becoming quite a popular topic in the scientific community, and the results may lead to big changes. This year alone, 28 studies and papers were published on the subject of food addiction, according to a National Library of Medicine database. One such study found that fructose and sucralose are even in the same league as cocaine.
‘The data is so overwhelming the field has to accept it,’ said Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse. ‘We are finding tremendous overlap between drugs in the brain and food in the brain.’
Manufacturers of processed foods which contain high amounts of high-fructose corn syrup, fructose, or sucralose are not only endangering the health of consumers, but are also contributing to massive addiction to these health-destroying ingredients. It is very possible that as more research comes out on the manner, a full-fledged consumer backlash will spawn as a result, similar to the uproar seen against tobacco companies after information surfaced linking cigarettes to adverse health reactions.
