On March 8th around 10 pm a psychopath (or psychopaths) made his (or their) way into a building located on Melvin Avenue in Hamilton Ontario. The suspect/s was just opening random doors to apartments and stabbing people. A total of four individuals got stabbed. An old lady and her son got stabbed in the neck. Here is raw footage from one of the crime scenes minutes after the stabbing. The Hamilton Police responded extremely quickly.
Updated info: the madman also stabbed a husband in the neck, his wife in her hand and their dog on first floor
As of right now it is unclear how many perpetrator stabbers there were. There was a stand off with the madman stabber at a pizza shop at a location near the crime scenes. Eye witnesses reported that madman was shot with rubber bullets and tazered. Later there were reports of ‘another individual carrying what appeared to be a knife through the hallways’, one resident told me she saw him while peeping through her peephole. There are reports of the second individual being seen in the back of a police vehicle, although it has not been 100% verified that two individuals were arrested. The witness might’ve saw the primary suspect and thought it was someone else .
These events are scenarios where deadly force is absolutely necessary. This stabber (or these stabbers) were literally sociopathic or psychopathic. They malevolently broke into random peoples homes and attempted to kill all of them. Although I am extremely impressed with the response time of these courageous officers, it came as a shock that they shot this out of control madman with only rubber bullets when clearly this man had no care for life and would’ve stabbed anyone of any age that came near him.
It blows my mind that deadly force was used in the cases such Andreas Chinnery who allegedly only had a bat and was not hurting anyone, Steve Mesic who allegedly only had a small tiny rectangular garden shovel, Phonesay Chantachak for simply fleeing in a vehicle from out of uniform officers and countless others. For whatever reason the Hamilton Police chose to spare the life of the madman stabber.
These are the types of events that spark large debates amongst Canadians about the human right to own firearms for the purposes of self defense with deadly force.
A suspect is in custody, subdued according to witnesses by jolts from a police Taser, after a multiple stabbing Saturday night at a highrise in the city’s east end.
Four people were stabbed, two suffering serious injuries, in the incident that occurred just before 10 p.m. at 221 Melvin Avenue, near Parkdale.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in.
Police received “numerous” 9-1-1 calls at about 9:50 p.m. and officers arrived on scene to find the four victims, who needed immediate assistance.
As police were helping them, a man was identified from a distance as the person who was involved in the altercation, Staff Sergeant Mike Webber said.
He fled on foot and police officers gave chase.
Webber said as a result of the police contact with the suspect, the SIU was alerted.
EMS platoon commander Jim Summers said a 60-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck and a 37-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and head. Both were taken to Hamilton General Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Two more patients were taken to St. Joe’s with minor lacerations to their hands.
The fifth person, believed to be the suspect, was taken to hospital with a broken ankle.
Webber said he is receiving medical treatment.
Misty Crouse, who lives across the street, said the stabbing started inside the highrise on the 12th floor. She saw three people taken out on a stretcher.
She said the suspect came out if the building and climbed up the balcony of a pizza shop next door.
“He jumped off of the balcony and they Tasered him three times. He had a knife, it looked like a hunting knife,” Crouse said.
She said the man was obviously “out of it, but they kept shooting him with the Tasers.”
“He was just sitting there with the knife, he kept wiping it on his pants.”
Webber would not comment on whether a Taser was used.
A forensics unit was on scene and the Special Investigation Unit, which investigates whenever a civilian is injured or killed in interactions with police, arrived around midnight. The SIU has four investigators and two forensic officers on site. Lead investigator Dean Seymour said early Sunday morning that their probe will focus on the area of the pizza shop where the police interaction occurred, not the apartment building.
Melvin Avenue is closed at Parkdale Avenue while police continue the investigation.

[Potent News editor’s note/update: According to this article and someone who posted at Richard Wright’s facebook page yesterday, he is now free.]
Yesterday I posted a video on Youtube about a man named Richard Wright in P.E.I. Richard had gone into the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia to hand out money to total strangers who he thought could use some help. This act of kindness has been reciprocated by the RCMP and the Charlottetown hospital detaining him for mental evaluation.
As I have looked into this story, looking to make sense of how this could have happened. The more strange it has become!
After his spree of kindness, the Halifax police pulled Richard over. They deemed that he was OK and had not committed any kind of a crime so they let him go. Then as he drove into the province of Prince Edward Island, he was again pulled over. This time it was by the RCMP and a mental health crisis team. They evaluated Richard and deemed that he should be detained to the hospital. Richard has been in the hospital against his will since that time (March 20).
Since then, Richards story has been picked up in national and international news outlets. With most commenter’s appalled by the situation. A Facebook page called #OpFreeRichardRight has been started and at the time of this article has nearly 5,000 people in it. [Potent News editor’s note: For some reason I haven’t been able to access this facebook page.]
One poster who has apparently been in contact with Richard posted a message from him.
“March 25th 2014 UPDATE
Today I received notice that the Mental Health Review Board consisting of:
Debbie Flood – Vickerson, Nurse Manager, Unit 9
Dr. Nadeem Dada – Psychiatrist on Board
Dr. Christine Beck, Attending Psychiatrist Chair, Mental Health Board?
will be held on Friday March 28th at 930am. The meeting was originally scheduled to appeal my involuntary admission to the Unit 9 Psychiatric Facility. Today, after receiving the notice of the date and participants of the appeal meeting, I was notified that it was also to include other matters which consisted of: Dr. Becks desire to issue a certificate of incapacity and capability to manage my own affairs, which would include losing custody of my kids. That would be a bad thing for us if they did succeed with this.
Since being abducted by the system on March 20th I have requested an official copy of the Mental Health Act and Access to my medical records in preparation for the Mental Health Review Board Appeal Meeting. Those documents have not yet been provided and it appears they they never will be. I did receive a summary photocopy that clearly states that it is for information and reference purposes only, and is NOT the official version, which contains the yearly revisions, and complete information.
I am still restricted to my room and I am only allowed out for short periods of time. Today I was also notified that I can only receive and make phone calls to my two daughter, my mom, my ex, and my brother. I am also not allowed to receive visits from others. It seems as that are trying to crack me but I am a strong guy…how far will they go?
I believe that there is a conspiracy going on at high levels because I am smart enough to and knowledgeable enough to expose all of the injustices being done by the entire population of the planet, or at least 89% of us. I figure that there is a plan for complete world domination and suppression and even population control plans in the works. If they get their way they would likely give me a needle and silence me for good. This is getting very very serious. I just wanted to help make the world a fair and just place place for all. We are on the verge of losing the battle. This is our time to step up. IT IS NOW! NOW NOW OR NEVER! I am still optimistic and anything you can do to help would be appreciated. As of right now I am looking for a lawyer which is the best of the best.
I have a lot of things posted on my wall that I would like each and everyone of you to go through and read. It will help you to better understand that this is a lot bigger than anyone could have imagined. https://www.facebook.com/richard.wright.39589?fref=ts
Sadly and Sincerely, Richard.”
After scanning his Facebook wall, I could not find anything that could be seen as grounds for mental evaluation. His posts mainly consist of links to stories about highly paid CEO’s and bankers, income inequality, free energy, and some Memes about the NSA, and things of that nature.
These topics could be seen as controversial, but is grounds for hospitalization? Apparently here in Canada it is.
With the “Shutdown Bangkok” campaign a success, protesters plan on consolidating stages and refocusing with their newly gained momentum.
The “Shutdown Bangkok” campaign was designed to coordinate pressure on the regime of US-backed dictator Thaksin Shinawatra and his proxy political machine headed by his own sister, Yingluck Shinawatra. Elections held on February 2, 2014 were successfully boycotted by over half the population in an unprecedented display of unified national defiance by the Thai people.
Since the elections, the regime has responded with an expanding campaign of armed terror that has left many dead, and many more horribly maimed, mainly from grenade attacks and gunfire launched by professional mercenaries, pro-regime thugs, and elements of the police loyal to the regime. Among the dead have been children.
Image: Occupy Bangkok has exposed and hobbled the Wall Street-backed regime of Thaksin Shinawatra. With the February 2, 2014 sham-elections an abject failure, the campaign has been a success. The protest leaders are now consolidating stages into one single location from which they can concentrate their efforts to ease the Thaksin regime into permanent collapse.
Consolidating Stages
Before the city-spanning “Shutdown Bangkok” campaign began, there was a single demonstration site including two stages at and near Bangkok’s Democracy Monument. It was announced yesterday evening that beginning on March 3, all of the stages that have been set up for “Shutdown Bangkok” will be consolidated once again, this time at Lumpini Park, near the Silom business district – accessible by Lumpini MRT station and Sala Daeng BTS station.
The move was long overdue – with the regime now fully exposed as both lacking any kind of democratic mandate, and resorting to violence as it clings with increasing desperation to power. The protesters at a single site can now continue organizing action against the regime, as well as direct resources toward the more impressive single-day mass protests (and the warm-up marches proceeding them) that have been the hallmarks of the months-long movement.
As Thailand’s anti-government protests enter their fourth day, observers say prospects for violent confrontation are increasing, with reports of government supporters stockpiling weapons in case of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s ouster.
According to the Bangkok Post, radical members of the Red Shirts — diehard champions of Yingluck and her notorious brother Thaksin Shinawatra — are readying a cache of arms in case the 46-year-old premier is forced from office by either military or judicial intervention. The paper quoted a Red Shirt source as saying “There are strong anti-coup and anti-court sentiments among the red-shirt mavericks who are familiar and experienced with weapon use.”
What’s Next?
For protest leaders, the next step is to simply wait for the regime to continue unraveling. It has lost vast amounts of support, even among rural rice farmers who have turned against the regime in the wake of the disastrous rice subsidy program that have left thousands of farmers unpaid, destitute, and desperate, and the nation’s rice industry crumbling.
For the protesters themselves, organizing smaller direct action committees to develop and implement local solutions addressing a wide range of issues, from education to economics, and even helping the victims of the regime including the farmers – would be a good way to continue undermining the regime as well as move constructively toward a different paradigm beyond elections, corrupt politicians, and endless, futile political bickering.
The regime is expected to continue employing violence and terrorism against growing dissent. It, along with its Western backers, have continuously peddled the narrative of a coming “civil war.” As pointed out many times before, this is not even remotely possible. Instead, the regime will use widespread terrorism and propaganda to appear as such, to make increasing violence appear to be a “people’s movement” rather than state-sanctioned brutality.
Recently, the regime’s deputy secretary-general to the prime minister and “red-shirt” leader Suporn Attawong claimed he was assembling a 600,000-strong “pro-government Democracy Protection Volunteers Group,” as reported by the Bangkok Post’s article, “Red shirt hardliner seeks 600,000 men.” With the regime failing utterly to fill even a single stadium in Bangkok to counter massive and prolonged anti-regime protests, the prospect of assembling an able-bodied army of 600,000 men is slim to none.
The regime’s ludicrous posturing heralds increasingly desperate moves as it attempts to cling to power. However, the protests are growing, well led, determined, and highly motivated. Their patience and prudence has and will continue to work against the regime – with the regime’s attempts to strike back only expediting its fall.
It’s official, Alaska voters will soon decide whether or not to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in their state. The proposal officially qualified for a statewide ballot on Wednesday after thousands of signatures were verified and certified by Lieutenant Governor Mead Treadwell. On August 17, voters in the northernmost state will go to the polls for pot.
As Reuters reports, if voters approve the measure, it would make Alaska the third state to legalize recreational marijuana, coming after Colorado and Washington who approved recreational pot in later 2012.
The proposed initiative would allow adults ages 21 and over to possess up to one ounce of marijuana for personal use and to grow up to six plants for their own consumption.
In addition, the proposal “charts a course” for a system of state-regulated marijuana sales as we see in Colorado, where dispensaries made well over $1 million in just their first day of business.
“A bipartisan tidal wave of public support for regulating marijuana like alcohol in Alaska has pushed this issue onto the ballot, and we will be running an aggressive campaign designed to build momentum on that,” said legalization campaign spokesman Taylor Bickford.
Marijuana users in the state aren’t the only ones who would benefit from the law. The state itself would collect a tax of $50 per ounce sold at the wholesale level.
BOWLING GREEN – In a vote of 2-1, the Gem County, Idaho Commission voted to prohibit the application of the laws of war, including under the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force, and any similar law or authority, in Gem County.
One commissioner, even, did it on accident.
The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is an annual Federal law which typically authorizes funding for the armed forces. However, in 2012, two sections, Section 1021 and 1022, were slipped in. These sections authorize the President of the United States to order the military to detain any person, indefinitely, without charge or trial, and apply the laws of war to U.S. soil.
People Against the NDAA (PANDA) has been facilitating local and state level resistance to the 2012 NDAA for over two years. Founded in January 2012, PANDA has introduced or pushed over 18 pieces of state legislation, including 2014 legislation in Arizona, Idaho, and Wyoming. On the local level, PANDA has helped NDAA Resistance leaders in 4 cities, including the Capitol of New York, prohibit the NDAA’s detention provisions and the laws of war in their city.
When PANDA Idaho showed up with over 40 people to a Gem County, ID Commissioners meeting on Monday, the Chair of the Commission, Carlos Bilbao, ordered over 30 people to leave. PANDA Idaho’s Jason Casella was there:
“Concerned and vigilant citizens came to the county commission at 4pm on a Monday leaving work early or completely missing work to ensure their rights are protected. They were blindsided when they showed up in support of the RCG and shuffled into a room upstairs where they could hardly hear what was happening. When citizens informed commissioner Carlos Bilbao that ‘the clerk has an open courtroom and we can use that’ the commissioner responded that “he is in charge, not her.”
In the video below, you can hear muffled complaints from the people in attendance, asking to use the upstairs room, the hallway, or another place where they could meet and still see the meeting in progress. The Commission refused.
After unceremoniously kicking their citizens out of the meeting, the commission debated sending a letter to Congress as well as voting on the resolution. This resolution, drafted by the Patriot Coalition, would go further than a simple letter in that it would recognize the laws of war, including under the NDAA, as unConstitutional and therefore unlawful in their County. This would prohibit its use, and require local, state and Federal law enforcement to prevent its application in Gem County.
Regardless of the actions of the chair, thanks to the leadership of Commissioner Mark Rekow and Jason Casella, the Restoring Constitutional Governance Resolution (RCG) passed 2-1.
The best part?
Chair Bilbao accidentally voted ”yes” on the resolution.
While assuming he was voting on a letter to Congress, Chair Bilbao accidentally voted to pass the RCG Resolution. Toward the end of the video below, you can see him completely confused as to his vote, and, after Jason asks if they voted on the Resolution, he doesn’t realize he voted yes on both. Yet he did, and whether by accident or on purpose, liberty, civil rights, and the unalienable right to a fair trial will take hold in Gem County, Idaho.
By passing the RCG Resolution, Gem County, Idaho become the first county in the nation to completely ban the laws of war, including the NDAA, in its jurisdiction. PANDA Idaho’s Jason Casella noted:
“I want to thank all of the great citizens of gem counting for acting on the issue and making the sacrifice to be at the courthouse on a Monday afternoon.”
There are many things coming down the pipeline as the national security state, and the militarization of America, continues. But when it comes to the NDAA, 2 years of concentrated effort is starting to pay off.
