Transcendence and DARPA’s Restoring Active Memory

July 15, 2014 (LocalOrg) – In the movie “Transcendence,” the lead character, an artificial intelligence researcher, is uploaded to a super-computer before his body dies. His consciousness survives and his mind, unencumbered by the weakness of his physical body, begins expanding exponentially. While science fiction, the movie’s premise is not entirely impossible. While the human brain is highly complex, accessing it, decoding it, and interfacing with it has long-ago already begun.
The US Department of Defense’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency or DARPA, has announced its “Restoring Active Memory (RAM)” project – which intends to develop a prosthetic for the brain to record and store memories for those with degenerative neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease or victims of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs).
Science Daily in its article, “DARPA taps Lawrence Livermore to develop world’s first neural device to restore memory,” reported:
The research builds on the understanding that memory is a process in which neurons in certain regions of the brain encode information, store it and retrieve it. Certain types of illnesses and injuries, including Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Alzheimer’s disease and epilepsy, disrupt this process and cause memory loss. TBI, in particular, has affected 270,000 military service members since 2000.
The goal of LLNL’s work — driven by LLNL’s Neural Technology group and undertaken in collaboration with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Medtronic — is to develop a device that uses real-time recording and closed-loop stimulation of neural tissues to bridge gaps in the injured brain and restore individuals’ ability to form new memories and access previously formed ones.
The research is funded by DARPA’s Restoring Active Memory (RAM) program.
In essence, RAM would also allow humans to expand their brains into non-organic systems. While the project states it intends to restore memory function to those with deficiencies, the same prosthetic could also be used to expand the memory capacity of people with normal brain functions. While the device currently is intended to be an implant, future reiterations may include external devices either linked physically or perhaps even wirelessly. The implications may lead to devices and systems that allow our “minds” to expand beyond the physical confines of our biological brains, opening the doors to both great opportunities and equally frightful threats.
Threats and Opportunities
For starters, the digitization of our neurology opens the doors to all the threats and opportunities that befall or benefit existing digital devices, including those connected to the Internet. Collaboration, control, viruses, hacking, surveillance, exponential intellectual progress, personal empowerment, and even human-drones are all in the cards.
And while a climatic and apocalyptic “war with the machines” lingers menacingly in the back of our collective minds, what if devices like that which DARPA is developing led to man merging with machines instead? There would be no war with machines, we would be the machines.
In this context, we face two possible futures: one like that portrayed in science fiction films like Terminator or the Matrix where humans hide amid the ruins of their once proud civilization fighting a desperate resistance against far superior machines that turned on them, or a future like that portrayed in the Japanese anime films and series, Ghost in the Shell. In the latter, the lines are blurred between man and machine and a tenuous balance of power is maintained throughout human civilization, between extremes of both organic and cybernetic natures.
With advances like that announced by DARPA, the latter scenario is the most likely one. A merge between man and machine is the most likely scenario – whomever controls cybernetic technology however, will determine how utopian or dystopian our future will be. Currently, DARPA and other corporate-financier monopolies control this research and technology, while they monopolize other realms of scientific progress including molecular biology, genetic engineering, and information technology. This power in such few hands is surely a recipe for disaster – at least for those without access or say in how the technology is used – or in other words – for the vast majority of us.
A consumerist paradigm that has neurological implants tied to our information technology infrastructure would lead to abuses that would make the NSA’s current overreaching authority look placid in comparison. It could also transform our military’s abilities into the most effective and most horrifying of both human and drone combat.
Instead, this technology must be democratized, ofpened up, and disseminated across society. People to be fully free and in charge of their destiny must not focus on “democracy” and “civil literacy,” but rather on technological literacy, as it is technology that forms the foundation upon which modern society is built and controlled. If we want a say in this modern, technological society, we must understand how it works – currently such an understanding lies in so few hands.
We will not “un-invent” neurological implants that expand the landscapes in which our minds may occupy. We can either choose to boldly embrace and take control of such technology, or cower and complain as others leverage this technology against us to cement an ever expanding disparity between their domination of humanity, and our subservient futility under their dominion.
List of Canadian Armed Forces assisted film and TV
Obtained via FOIA by a listener to ClandesTime, this is a list of all the films and TV shows that the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) have participated in the production of, or at least all the ones they saw fit to admit to being involved in. It was quite a lengthy FOIA struggle that led to the release of this document, so credit to the listener for that, and the released document is quite heavily redacted.
Nonetheless, it shows a comfortable, continuous relationship between CAF and Hollywood, and with TV producers in the US and elsewhere – the BBC turns up a number of times. Indeed, documentaries/reality TV make up a significant proportion of the entries in the list. The entertainment movies are interesting because they include the most recent Superman film (Man of Steel) and White House Down, one of a pair of movies from 2013 depicting an assault on the White House in Washington DC. The most amusing entry on the list is The Colony – an apocalyptic climate change cannibalism thriller that I have not seen but which sounds completely dreadful.

What Does the Body of an Ancient Egyptian Deity Have to Do with Tinsel Town Magic?

Some stories are weirder than anything Hollywood screenwriters could dream up. But then, facts are often stranger than fiction. How would you react if you were told that the phallus of the Egyptian god Osiris is possibly located underneath a buried pyramid in the very center of Hollywood—Los Angeles? Doesn’t this sound like something from a movie? Well, it isn’t.
The site where Osiris’ phallus is supposedly buried is known as the Hollywood Cross, which sits on a small hill next to Interstate 101, at Cahuenga. The site is notorious, as the cross can clearly be seen from the 101, especially at night, when it is illuminated and sometimes—depending on visibility—seems to be suspended in mid air.
So, how could a legendary Egyptian artifact ever end up beneath a very natural looking hill in lala-land? It seems absurd, even impossible, as the Ancient Egyptians, according to all historical accounts, never made it to America, let alone the “left coast.” But however illogical it seems, this was the firm conviction of one of the greatest astrologers of the twentieth century, Linda Goodman, who spent a small fortune in trying to prove her point.
Goodman was a New York Times bestselling author, whose books on astrology—including Sun Signs, published in 1968—sold millions. Though a well-known public figure, less known was that her life was defined by two major preoccupations: finding out the fate of her eldest daughter Sally, who had disappeared under mysterious circumstances; and proving the presence of the phallus of Osiris in Hollywood.
The phallus’ purported location was underneath the Hollywood Cross, which may be found on Pilgrimage Drive, in Cahuenga. Cahuenga is the Spanish name for the Tongva village of Kawengna, meaning “place of the mountain”— etymological evidence that the mountain was important to the Native Americans who lived there.
Today, the hill overshadows the Ford amphitheater. But it was the hill’s purported interior that obsessed Goodman. From the early 1970s until her death on October 21, 1995, she believed that there was a subterranean structure underneath the hill, which contained the phallus of Osiris. From 1990s onward, she laid out a considerable sum to have many tests performed using the latest available technology—short of physical digging—to map the hill’s interior. Realizing that no one was going to believe her, or allow her to excavate without virtually concrete proof that something manmade was indeed underneath that hill, she, nevertheless, persisted for the rest of her life in the strange quest for her Holy Grail.
But those who knew Goodman during the 1990s and saw the scientific material she compiled—in futile efforts to rally support—confirm that the surveys unanimously supported her supposition that there was indeed something underneath that hill. Some speak of a buried pyramid, while others mention clear evidence of a manmade structure, or chamber. With each survey, Goodman became more convinced that one of the greatest mythical artifacts—thought to exist only in legend—was, in fact, buried beneath Hollywood.
How did a bestselling author become convinced that such a thing existed? Goodman tells the tale in her book Star Signs. It began on New Year’s Day 1970. While promoting her bestselling Sun Signs, she stayed in room 1217 (later renumbered 1221) of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, then, as now, one of Hollywood’s iconic landmarks. Unexpectedly, a stranger knocked on her door and identified himself as “Nahtan.” He was invited in. During the discussion which followed, he made a number of extraordinary claims; he could, he said, bilocate, walk through walls, and other things. He was, apparently, an initiate of some advanced order, who had lived for more than thirty years in a monastery in India. Anyone not present could be forgiven for concluding that Nahtan was a charlatan, but Goodman was not naïve. Whoever he was, he left a lasting impression on her. Indeed, it would be a life-changing experience for her.
Nahtan also had a clear mission: He instructed Goodman that she should go to the mountains, where she would meet her twin soul. The “Twin Soul” concept is similar to that of “soul mates” but more specific. The definition of twin souls is a pair of souls made from the same soul, halved at the beginning of time, who reunite in the flesh during their time on Earth, to become whole again. It is this specific concept that appears time and again in many myths, including the legend of Isis and Osiris, themselves twin souls. In mythology the concept is often presented as “brother and sister, and lovers.” Indeed, their love story is arguably the greatest ever told. It certainly inspired generations of ancient Egyptians. Goodman, who had worked extensively in applying astrology with this concept, subsequently redoubled her efforts.
What Goodman left out of the published account (in Star Signs) were the details on how Nahtan had provided information on Hollywood Hill, though the published account does include an oblique reference to it. After Nahtan left, Goodman writes how she sat in the suite of the hotel, “by the window that looked out on the small white cross, planted on the far hill behind Grauman’s Chinese Theatre across Hollywood Boulevard.”

There’s lot going on right now with all of these frantic so-called “preparedness” drills. With government closing and the lights in Washington going out you can’t help but wonder. And what comes to mind? The many end of the world scenarios we’ve had pumped at us from birth, sensationalized heavily by “special effects” frenzied Hollywand.
Do they really know something? Or is this just more fear programming to gain a tighter grip on humanity. Or is it both?
We can pretty much assume insider media moguls and movie producers have a lot of information at their fingertips we’re apparently not privy to. How they get this info is almost fun to visualize, almost like an old Spy vs Spy cartoon. Only these control creeps are ugly and dark.
Actually, many producers and writers have openly testified they’ve been “given” the ideas or script outlines by apparent “operatives”. This is especially the case when they show these huge scenes of massive military operations or the propaganda is particularly pointed; you then know the “suppliers” of all this equipment and backdrop have a heavy hand on the scale.
It’s clearly a pervasive factor in the content of these movies. The scale of social engineering on our planet is extraordinary.
Apocalypse In The News
The social programmers love this subject. While they try to keep their credibility with the more wary audience with comments about “crackpots, kooks and conspiracy nuts”, these Illuminist media controllers push the End of the World scenario big time.
We’ve seen the alien invasion how many times? Even the White House gets blasted on several occasions. We’ve had the asteroid impact over and over. Plagues killing us off are big, as are huge earthquake scenarios. Even a frozen future world with ‘Day After Tomorrow’ type movies. And it gets more bizarre all the time.
It’s imprinting, or entraining the human psyche. Also known as programming. In this case it’s predictive programming.
Don’t you find it ironic they produce this stuff hand over fist and then these same elitists and their complicit media and education stooges work hard to belittle anyone who actually believes it? Isn’t that called getting “jerked around”?
Actually it’s a very sophisticated mind control technique, a deliberate mixture of traumatized cognitive dissonance while injecting predictive programming. It’s all acclimating their subjects to manipulated tension, fear and the ever present threat and even assumed “knowledge” of eventual apocalypse. Nasty psychopathic bastards, in a nutshell. But it’s effective.
Why, you ask? Are there deliberate forces out to decimate our planet? Is this what was done to Mars and other worlds by some parasitic other dimensional force?
The simple greed explanation makes no sense in the light of the suicidal rape and destruction of our planet we’re witnessing. There is a bigger picture we need to be aware of. Fortunately with that comes the empowerment to use the right tools to combat such an apparently inter-dimensional parasitic force.

“Knowing” – A Massive Example of Programming
This movie keeps coming back to me and I understand why, especially recently. With incoming comets, reports of hundreds of fireballs, and our central star undergoing a magnetic flip and shutdown influencing our deliberately destabilized planet in profound ways, it’s no wonder.
The movie “Knowing” is slow as far as movies go, and Nicolas Cage is pretty much the same guy you see in all his movies. The plot is actually relatively simple, and is drawn out using interim catastrophes leading up to the big revelation at the end as his child gets swept into the phenomenon of hearing the “whisperers” who’ve given coded warning messages to a couple of generations of contactees of what’s about to transpire.
Nick goes a bit berserk as he figures out the code and traces the predicted disasters, but his passionate search culminates when he decodes the last line of the predictive numbers as “ee”…the “end of everything”.

This next clip is pretty amazing. I don’t necessarily go along with all of the interpretations, but you’ll have to admit there are a lot of hinting “coincidences” that are jammed into this movie.
This was released a year before the gulf oil disaster and way before Fukushima.
The Bigger Implication
By the way, in the story the aliens who gave the messages and keep appearing and whispering to the kids are these light beings disguised as “men in black” types. They eventually lead them to where these space craft will take them off planet to safety just before the event. In fact, they and other chosen children around the globe are deposited in other worlds to propagate, as in the Garden of Eden story imprinted on the human conscience.
Despite the Programming….
Once you stop wondering, you’ve stopped.
I may not go for Hollywood’s tricks, but I like to think freely, outside of paradigms. And I like to try to understand the message I’m “supposed to be getting” for what it is and I try not to swallow it hook, line and sinker. But to also not discard whatever I’m being given offhandedly as if there’s no truth to anything.
Hey…knowing is knowing…and I’m often wondering what others seem to be knowing…if they really know anything. Or if they’re just trying to program me again, ha! Oh how they don’t realize how on to them we are!
We need to be awake and aware, and alive. Love, understanding and right knowledge then come with the territory.

I saw “Southland Tales” back in 2008 and it’s been lingering around in my mind ever since. It smells like predictive programming to me. I’m not saying it definitely is predictive programming. I put a question mark up in the title because I’m not sure. It sure smells like it, though. It was released in 2006 and a lot of this clip seems pertinent today.
To be clear, I know the US has not dropped bombs on Syria yet, but the way things seem to be moving now this could be a reality soon and what is interesting is that this film from 2006 features a clip where we see that the US is at war with Iraq, Iran, Syria, North Korea and Afghanistan. Blocking of the strait of Hormuz is also mentioned in this clip as well as “patriot act expansion” which would definitely describe the NDAA quite well. Many observers have also noted that it is not far fetched to imagine that there is a chance that the powers-that-be could stage a false-flag nuclear attack on the US or Europe (or could foment tensions to the point that things simply escalate that much), and this film indeed begins with a nuclear attack on US soil.
