  • Nestle, Unilever, Knorr, Hellmann’s and Yakult accused of animal testing
  • Campaign group claims tests were not to assess food safety butto allow the companies to make health claims about their products

Rabbits, piglets and mice are being killed when heavily pregnant, injected with deadly bacteria and bled to death by food firms testing fashionable superfoods, it has emerged.

The experiments involve food giants including KitKat maker Nestle, Unilever – the owners of PG tips – Knorr, Hellmann’s and Yakult, the maker of probiotic drinks.

Food companies stress that animals are used as little as possible and are cared for to the highest standard.

According to the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) animals including rabbits, rats, mice and piglets suffered as a result of the growing fascination with so-called ‘superfoods’

But the campaign group that uncovered details of the experiments, which were carried out over the past two years, claim that most were not done to assess the safety of the food.

Instead, they say the tests appear to have been carried out to allow the companies make health claims about their products.

6 Ingredients Sold in the U.S. But Banned in Other Countries

by Elizabeth Renter

June 27, 2013

When food-makers around the world make potentially dangerous and deadly foods, some governments ban them. In the U.S., that isn’t so. There are numerous foods that are available here that simply can’t be found outside of this country, and it’s not because we are more free. While some countries ban ingredients that cause things like cancer and organ failure—the U.S. doesn’t only allow them to be sold, but doesn’t warn consumers.

According to a book first profiled by BuzzFeed, “Rich Food, Poor Food,” these “Banned Bad Boys” of food are so dangerous, other countries even prescribe criminal penalties if they are found in foods. Here, however, they are abundant.

Bentonite Clay to Detox Pesticides, Heavy Metals and Harmful Pathogens

by Christina Sarich
Natural Society

June 25, 2013

Deep below the earth’s untainted surface lies Bentonite clay, one of the healing clays from the smectite group. First used in ancient Mesopotamia, Bentonite clays are called living clays appropriately since they prolong life by detoxing the toxic burden in our bodies. Native American tribes call Bentonite ‘Ea-Wah-Kee’ which means ‘The Mud that Heals.” In the book the Clay Cure: Natural Healing from the Earth, Ran Knishinsky says that, “. . .clay allows a greater life force to be promoted in the cells of the body.”

The Detoxing Benefits of Bentonite Clay

Even modest estimates have suggested that we are exposed to more than 700,000 different toxic chemicals on a daily basis, and this doesn’t include the crazy poisons that GMO companies are pumping into the food supply. According to GlobalHealingCenter, it isn’t abnormal to be exposed to 2,100,000 toxins each and every day. Bentonite clay is a powerful way to remove some of that toxicity.

If we don’t take a proactive stance on removing the industrial emissions, pesticides, fertilizers, medications, oil spill toxins, plastic toxins, and wastes of war like uranium and radiation from our bodies, let alone the environment, then we will experience poor health at the very least, and in worse cases, our utter demise. ‘Healing clay’ is so effective, that women in aboriginal tribes used to eat it in order to cleanse their systems and support the growth of their babies in utero. Clay balances the systems of the body with an alkaline pH and its electromagnetic charge that stimulates and revitalizes latent cell energy. Bentonite clays are one of the few that have the ability to both absorb and adsorb well.

A common form of calcium Bentonite clay is Montmorillonite, named for its discovery place in a small town in France, but it can be found all over the world – from Death Valley in California to India, and Turkey. Bentonite clays contain primarily hydrated aluminum silicate as well as minerals like calcium, potassium, sulfur, magnesium, zinc, etc. as well as a very beneficial combination of sand and silt and other trace minerals that help to draw toxins from the body.

The clay’s total mineral makeup varies slightly depending on the geographic location from which it is sourced. Much of Bentonite clay’s effectiveness is derived from its negative ionic charge, which pulls positively charged particles from the body via the bloodstream and then eliminates them via the kidneys and bowels. Heavy metals, pesticides, harmful bacteria, etc. all have a positive charge, and essentially get hovered up by the calcium bentonite clay.

Other ailments which Bentonite clay helps prevent or eliminate are:

  • Acne
  • Eczema
  • Diaper rash
  • Psoriasis
  • Auto-immune disorders
  • Toxicity
  • Pain reduction (as evidenced by the practices of the Aztecs)
  • Faster wound healing

If you aren’t sure if you are carrying a toxic burden, consider these five common symptoms:

  • Low energy
  • Struggling with weight gain
  • Insomnia
  • Skin Breakouts
  • Foggy brain, impaired cognitive funtioning

And remember, there are many ways to cleanse your body of various toxins. Try using activate charcoal to cleanse your body, and be sure to implement these 7 methods for detoxification.

The truth is that peppermint has been valued as a natural healer for a long time.  People enjoy the refreshing flavor and aroma and often use it to freshen breath and add some zing to their hot tea.  Surprisingly, there are a score of health benefits that come with peppermint and the best way to heal using this herb is to obtain the essential oils from the plant.  You may be surprised to know that peppermint can be used topically for pain and relieves stress.  Just apply the oil where you are sore and enjoy a nice hot bath or shower after applying the oil to melt away the stress and pain.  Do you have an upset stomach?  Get a cup of warm water to tea and add a few drops of peppermint oil to it and drink.  Peppermint oil is also thought to cure indigestion and helps ease stomach and bowel spasms.  Peppermint oil has a antiseptic effect and can also be used for skin problems like pimples.  You can even use also use peppermint oil to remove lice and dandruff by massaging some into the scalp while also enjoying the wonderful cooling effects.  You can naturally cure headaches too using peppermint oil.  Apply some oil to your wrist or a cloth and inhale the fumes from the oil to help make the headache disappear.  Sinus problems can be helped greatly by doing this or by boiling some water with some peppermint oil.  Respiratory problems such as bronchitis, asthma, and sinusitis can also be treated using peppermint oil.  In addition to its healing properties, peppermint oil is rich in nutrients as well.  Vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium, copper, manganese, potassium, iron, magnesium can be found in peppermint oil and it even contains omega 3 essential fatty acids.  If you develop a taste for peppermint oil or work it into your lifestyle, you will not be disappointed, but refreshed and healthy!

3 Reasons Why You Should March Against Chemtrails and Geoengineering on 8/25/13

[Potent News editor’s UPDATE: I had a few fishy feelings about this event to begin with and now things are starting to make a lot more sense.  I would like to apologize to the readers for my hasty advertising of this event.  I would also like to point out that I have great respect for the author of Global March For Chemtrails Has Some Fishy Management (2nd UPDATE), not only because of the content of this article, but also because he previously personally sent me very pertinent information revealing the sketchy nature of Non-Violent Communcation.]

1. The March Against Monsanto was a huge success in bringing the public’s attention to the dangers of genetically modified foods. Nearly fifty percent of U.S. states introduced bills requiring labeling or prohibiting genetically engineered foods since the date of the protest on May 26, 2013. And all without the “help” of mainstream media. Great achievement, but the battle has only just begun. As brilliant as the march was, it only addressed half of the problem.

Unfortunately, there is an insidious connection between chemtrails and GMOs. One of the main toxic fallouts of chemtrails is aluminum. Aluminum alters the PH of soil, killing off plants and seeds in the process.

Have your crop yields declined over the years? Have you noticed the decaying trees in your neighborhood? Well, apparently Monsanto has, which is why the company holds a patent on “aluminum resistant seed.” Don’t want to be forced to eat GMO? Then please march on Sunday, August 25, 2013.

2. What do autism, Alzheimer’s, asthma, influenza and Morgellons Disease all have in common? They have all been skyrocketing since the advent of chemtrails. Award winning investigative reporter, Will Thomas, has reported findings of over 300 types of virally-mutated fungi in chemtrail fallout. The Idaho Observer has reported findings of: 26 heavy metals including arsenic, gold, lead, mercury, silver, uranium and zinc; four molds and fungi; seven viruses; a variety of infectious pathogens; nine chemicals including acetylcholine chloride; drugs including two sedatives; and six bacteria including anthrax. Researcher Clifford Carnicom has reported finding chemtrail fibers that are an exact match with the fibers found in those suffering from Morgellons Disease. Are you ready to put an end to the needless suffering of millions of people? Then march for your brothers and sisters.

3. According to the research of Dane Wigington of Geoengineeringwatch.org, chemtrails and geoengineering are the single, greatest threat to life on Planet Earth. UN scientists estimate that 150-200 species of plant, insect, bird and mammal become extinct every 24 hours. This is nearly 1,000 times the “natural” or “background” rate and is greater than anything that the world has experienced since the vanishing of the dinosaurs nearly 65 million years ago. Chemtrails appear to have triggered climate feedback loops affecting ocean currents between the Atlantic and the Arctic. One of these feedback loops is methane expulsion. This methane expulsion has not been happening over a hundred years or even decades. It has been happening only over a few years. This is a global, game-changing event. Are you ready to put an end to the real global warming? Then march for Planet Earth!

10 Quick Reasons You Gotta Love Chocolate

by Christina Sarich

Many people may not know it, but there are actually numerous health benefits of chocolate. The real, unadulterated form of chocolate, derived from the Theobroma cacao tree, is a heaven-sent super food that can keep us healthy even as we indulge in its delectable taste. Many overly processed chocolates are full of refined sugar and saturated fatty acids, but the real stuff is packed full of plant derived flavanols, full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory constituents and health-boosting ingredients that do all sorts of amazing things for our bodies and minds.

Take for example, the following 10 benefits to heart:

  • In a 9-year study conducted by the Swedes, it was found that people who consumed chocolate just 1 to 3 times per month had a 26% lower risk of developing heart failure. If you normally give your sweetheart chocolate, consider making it dark chocolate to provide an extra bit of love to the heart muscle.
  • meta-analysis published recently in Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews found that those who consume chocolate experience a reduction in blood pressure.
  • Chocolate increases communication between opiate receptors in the brain as well as supports the production of dopamine, two hormones that increase happiness and contribute to feelings of elation.
  • Real chocolate, or cocoa, is associated with decreased low-density lipoprotein levels and increased high-density lipoprotein levels. These are important for carrying cholesterol to the liver.
  • Raw cacao contains N-acylethanolamines that are believed to temporarily increase the levels of anandamide in the brain and enzyme inhibitors that slow its breakdown. This means we feel more relaxed when we eat chocolate.
  • Eating chocolate increases our endorphins, the body’s natural pain killers.
  • Raw cacao consumption can help with weight loss as it eradicates sweet cravings. The abundance of antioxidants can also help keep our metabolism running smoothly. An article in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry says you can enjoy cacao several times a week to boost weight loss.
  • Cacao can be enjoyed in raw form as a powder, as cacao nibs, or as a dark chocolate bar minus the refined sugar and unhealthy fats. You can mix a little cacao with honey and cinnamon over low heat on the stove for a delicious sweet treat, with the combined health benefits of all three foods for a vitamin-packed dessert.
