Freudian slip? Obama vows to speed up ‘training ISIL’, WH edit adds confusion — video included

President Barack Obama’s reference to US training “ISIL forces” has raised eyebrows, no less because of the White House’s odd edit in the transcript of the president’s speech on confronting Islamic State.
After getting briefed on US efforts to fight the self-proclaimed Caliphate occupying large swaths of Syria and Iraq, Obama told reporters Monday at the Pentagon that the US was ramping up the training of local forces to complement airstrikes conducted by the US-led coalition.
What he actually said, however, was “we’re speeding up training of ISIL forces, including volunteers from Sunni tribes in Anbar Province.”
ISIL stands for Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, and is the US government’s preferred term for the group, also known as ISIS or, more recently, Islamic State.
The official transcript released by the White House contains the word “Iraqi” in brackets following the acronym ISIL, instead of something much more intuitive, such as prefacing the acronym with “anti-”. The clumsy edit allowed one to read the statement as if the US Commander-in-Chief was not confessing to training jihadist militants all over the region, but only the ISIL forces based in Iraq.

Obama’s omission and the White House’s attempt to explain it away have caused some perplexity on Twitter.

Bankers Plan to Raid Deposits After Greeks “Rise Up Against Debt Bondage” — video included

Chaos and economic disaster are still stirring up in Greece, with a sharp rejection of foreign control of their troubled affairs.
More austerity and new rounds of loans? Voters in Greece’s emergency referendum were overwhelmingly against it. Whatever happens next, they stood up to the authoritarian tactics of the European Union. Hurrah.
Greeks voted overwhelmingly to reject creditors’ proposal of more austerity measures in return for rescue loans, in the country’s first referendum in 41 years Sunday.
The referendum “will stay in history as a unique moment when a small European nation rose up against debt-bondage,” Varoufakis said. (source)
Now signal the panic. Collapse may be impending. Then doom. Contagion could spread to America, too, and trigger global market implosion and derivatives meltdown.
This weekend brought not only the “no” vote but the resignation of Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, who angrily pointed the finger at predatory creditor banks who he said are using “terrorism” against the angry, defiant people of Greece.
Yanis Varoufakis, Greece’s finance minister, on Saturday accused the country’s creditors of trying to “terrorise” Greeks into accepting austerity.
“What they’re doing with Greece has a name: terrorism,” he told Spanish newspaper El Mundo. “Why have they forced us to close the banks? To frighten people.” (source)
As things stand, the banks are still closed, ATM withdrawals are very limited and strict capital controls have imposed to avoid a full on bank run… but now they are looking to take deposit funds to cover the emergency as well.

TRIPLE TERROR ATTACK: What’s Behind the Events in France, Tunisia and Kuwait?

The triple terror attacks seen in France, Tunisia and Kuwait appear to mark another set of tragic events. However, when you peel back the media hysteria, all three of the alleged ISIS related incidents raise a number of interesting questions..

The French BRI, who are are an elite law enforcement unit of the French Ministry of the Interior, have been known to monitor suspects prior to a crime taking place. This echoes a similar investigative tactic in the US, as the FBI has often been linked to a person or persons before an alleged attack through lengthy surveillance protocols.
A primary example of this was the series of events that unfolded in Garland, Texas recently.
Back in May, the anti-Islamic media personality Pamela Geller, who is the president of the well-funded organizations, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, and Stop the Islamization of America, organized a “Prophet Mohammed Drawing Contest” in Garland, Texas. The event allegedly became a target of two ‘ISIS inspired’ shooters. However, it was quickly revealed that the FBI had known at least one of the apparent shooters well before the seemingly orchestrated attack.
As we previously outlined here at 21WIRE, Elton Simpson, one of perpetrators listed in the Garland fiasco, had been under the watchful eye of the FBI for nearly a decade and was in close contact with an undercover informant during that time.
Fast forward to the recent attack in France…
French Prosecutor Francois Molins, said that security services were well aware of the suspect charged in an apparent beheading and gas canister explosion at the American owned Air Products factory in France. An early report from CNN, exposed the ties between the French security services and the alleged suspect, Yassin Salhi, as the Mayor of a town close by had easily been able identify the suspect charged in the apparent attack:
“Raymond Feyssaguet, the mayor of the nearby town of Villefontaine, identified the suspect as Yassin Salhi.

Out of Order: Thousands of ATMs have been Cleaned out In Greece
via Activist Post

By Joshua Krause
As the talks between the Greek government and their creditors slowly falls apart, the citizens of Greece are busy preparing for the worst. They don’t want to be caught off guard like they were during the last economic crash, and they certainly don’t want to end up like the people of Cyprus, and have their hard-earned savings arbitrarily taken from them.
So they’re doing everything they can to insulate themselves from the potential collapse of their financial system, which largely includes taking their money out of the system. Earlier today, sources in the banking industry told Reuters that over one-third of the ATMs in the country, have been completely cleaned out. Between 500 and 600 million Euros were withdrawn from the machines on Saturday, which managed to deplete over 2000 ATMs. Despite the alarming trend, the Greek government has claimed that everything is just hunky dory, and that there will be no capital controls imposed on bank accounts next week.
But the Greeks aren’t buying it, or at least they’re not taking any chances with what little money they’ve managed to accumulate since the last financial crisis. Shortly after Prime Minister Tsipras announced there would be a referendum on austerity, Greek citizens left their homes in droves and started lining up behind ATMs at around 2am. No matter what the government and the banks tell them, the Greeks clearly have no confidence in the system.
